GREENFOREST FIREPLACE & PATIO

I placed an order 2 weeks ago for a replacement part on a fireplace. The fireplace company had referred me to them as they are the local Chicago distributor. They told me it would be about 2 weeks since it had to be custom made and shipped. I followed up 2 weeks later and the order had not been placed. One of the co-owners said the sales person forgot to take a deposit and so the order was never placed. Despite having my information, no one ever called to inform me of this or ask for a deposit. He said my only option was to wait another 2 weeks - no accomodation or discount offered - or even an apology. I called the fireplace company and explained the situation - they were shocked and reported them to be removed as a local distributor. They said the part was not a custom part, did not need to be ordered and could be shipped same day. I now have a shipment coming tomorrow. The price charged by Greenforest was over $70. The price charged by the other distributor was under $20 including expedited shipping. Epic fail for a local Chicago business.

Wow, very rude on the phone. I called to see if they can install a direct vent gas fireplace into our decorative fireplace. The man who I spoke with did not listen to me, talked over me the whole time, and when I said I just needed to get an estimate and did not want to come into their "showroom", he hung up on me. If they treat you this bad before they even have the job, I can only imagine how bad it would be if you actually hired them. I would stay away from these people.
