We really enjoyed our experience working with Paul. Several months ago he refinished our old oak floors and made them look beautiful again! This was the last step in a major renovation and it made a huge difference. Paul was extremely reliable, knowledgeable and he communicated with us every step of the way. His stuff gave excellent advice when it came time to choose the stain color and we couldn't be happier with the result. His price was reasonable and the project was finished on time. We would highly recommend using Great Hardwood Flooring Inc !

The install of the new section went smooth but the removal of the old flooring turned out to be herder than it looked ( staples , Tiles and thick concrete ) but Paul's Team took their time and did fantastic job. On top of this they didn't damaged walls and fished this project in 9 days . The floors look great

Floors don't look great a couple of years later and there's still sawdust throughout the entire house from when his crew sanded the floors. Don't believe dustless - were caught in the act. If I had to do it over again I would not have used them.

I called the same team that did my floors on my previous house 8 years ago to bid on removing the original floors and Install solid hardwood I was very happy with them and fully expected to give them my business. Once they did the bid it was twice as much as the bid they had given me two years ago, So I decided to have a couple more bids......still fully expecting to give them my business. Paul came out the same day I called. We discussed the options and he said he would be in contact with me once he will put t the quote together ( he did 2 days later) Paul gained my trust in knowing his business and telling me that he don't need down payment I had gotten his name from Internet Since this was a full install I wanted to be sure I was making the right decision.........this is a huge investment!!!! His bid was very reasonable the full scope of work was addressed. Changing the way the wood was laid down to make the house seem more open, transitioning into the back rooms, changing the color to have darker stain throughout the house. Floors arrived to acclimate for a couple days , job progressed nicely from there. Once the install was done they finished them. They are absolutely gorgeous.

This is the 2nd time I used Great flooring, Paul and his crew were professional, on time, and did a Great job.

Pawel and his team did an excellent job. The work was top notch and finished ahead of schedule. Pawel was very responsive to any questions or concerns throughout the project. The price was competitive.

I had emailed Pawel Zelazny a couple of days ago asking about having my laminiate flooring installed. He responded quickly with an estimated cost. I was excited by how quickly he responded. I emailed him back right away and he didn't get back to me for another 4 hours. After that, it felt like I had to twist his arm to even respond to me. I had asked him to come by at 8 am on Thursday (which is today). It took him 17 hours to respond. He did agree to come by. I was again excited. He was offering a very reasonable price to have my floors installed. Today, he's supposed to come by at 8 am. I'm sitting there and he never shows. I sent him an email at 8:20 to forget the whole thing. This guy has terrible communication skills. He of course has not responded, so whatever. Its his loss. I recommend to people to avoid these guys.

Pawel was fantastic. He arrived promptly, gave a quote and began work next week. We left his crew to do their work feeling totally confident that the job would be done exactly as agreed upon. We were not wrong! Carl and Peter installed and finished a new floor in the living room and front foyer and refinished the existing floors to match. Absolutely a fantastic job and a pleasure to work with. they are is a true "Pro" Would use him again in a heartbeat!n Great experience.

I was so looking forward to getting my floors done by Great Flooring. All the positive reviews I've read I felt good that I would have a great experience with them. So I called to schedule an in home consultation, not once but twice!! Each time appointments were set. Not only did they not show up, but I received no follow up phone calls explaining what happened. I understand that schedules change and things happen, but not to at least call me to let me know what's going on. Told him that I would e writing this review. He texted me good luck...NOT PROFESSIONAL at all!!!!!Do yourselves a favor and take your business elsewhere.

I couple of things went sideways during installation mainly due to the fact that the material I wanted installed was difficult to work with (one of the contractors I tried to get a quote from said he wouldn't even work with that material). What I was most impressed with was Paul's absolute commitment to getting any issues fixed and it felt like his top priority was ensuring that I was completely satisfied with the job they did. At some point I'll need to have the wood floors refinished in the rest of my house and Great Hardwood Flooring will be my only phone call.

I had had the floors refinished close to two years ago in a dark mahogany stain with high gloss finish from a low-cost contractor who was only concerned about getting the job done (poorly), and I quickly became tired of them and wanted to refinish them. Looking around, I contacted Paul for an estimate. While Paul couldn't make it to the estimate appointment he sent Mike over instead, all while maintaining contact with me, and was then able to begin working the following week Paul let me know about any issues regarding the floor, such as some warping in the floor and was able to fix and level said floor (which the previous contractor had not done or informed me of). In addition to that, any time I had a question--and trust me, I had a lot of questions--via text or phone call, Paul was prompt to respond thoroughly and professionally. Paul cares about his customers and that can easily be seen in the constant communication he upholds and maintains with his them...something that can be difficult to find nowadays. The floors are now refinished and look absolutely beautiful in their new satin finishing and natural color! Paul's team did a wonderful job and I greatly appreciate the time, effort, and pride taken in doing the work. Thank you so much

I contacted Great Hardwood Flooring to refinish my hardwood floors in late November. Paul came to the house within 2 days of the call. He was very informative and professional . The company started the work within the week and was finished in 4 days. The floors look incredible. Each day the crew let me know what time they would arrive at the house and about what time they planned to leave. At the end of each day they cleaned up and left the house in good order. The Dustless sanding system did a good job and I couldn't be happier with the work they performed at a very fair price. I would recommend this company to any of my friends and plan to use them again for second floor Installation projects in my house.

Paul and his crew did a great job on our house. We had them refinish 250 sq ft. of existing oak flooring, and lay new hickory flooring on 1000 additional sq ft. All the workers worked methodically and were very thorough; they often worked into early evening. Paul himself laid down a medallion and installed a highlight surround that looks great. There were a few minor glitches, but they were fixed to our satisfaction. Paul was very easy to work with; we had some changes we wanted and they were all done without any nickel or dime add-ons. Not all his crew speaks English but that wasn't much of a problem as there was usually one of the crew who did.

Highly recommended for refinishing /installing hardwood floors . Paul David and Marcin are very professional skilled contractors since we had new vs old hardwood floors , they did their magic and the result is You can't tell the difference between the floors .THANKS GUYS FOR GREAT JOB !!!!!

Paul was very straightforward regarding the price of labor and other material costs (baseboards, air vents, .....etc.). We can tell he and his team are very experienced. The quality of their work was excellent. We did both upstairs and downstairs using 5" white oak including stairs and trim around the upstairs stair rails. They focused on the details and gave us great advice while getting everything done within a week. Most importantly, there are many times in a home improvement project where unexpected situations come up such as when the subflooring is weak, or when the door is too low and will scrape the edge of the new flooring. Paul and team were able to solve all the issues we faced professionally and addressed every concern we had. We definitely recommend Great Hardwood Flooring for wood floor installations. Just bear in mind that his schedule is really tight so we had to wait for 3 weeks between quote and when the project could begin. But it was worth the wait!

I just bought a new town house and although the floors and the Stairs were nice, they were that generic blonde wood color that I saw in every house I looked at so I contacted 3 companies about staining them a darker color. 1 company gave me a ridiculous high quote, the other was very low and then Paul from Great Hardwood gave me the perfect quote and I moved Forward with him because it was apprehensive to go with the lowest quote Im thinking they must cut corners or something . Typically the bank dragged out my escrow an extra week and i didn't think i would be able to get my floors done but Paul worked it out . His crew of 3 workers sanded stained and finished entire 2000 SQFT house and 49 Stair treads in 5 days the job was done just in time for me to move in on Monday . The floors turned out beautiful dark grafite color . David Paul's employee was very helpful in helping me get the color and look that I was going for. They are not the pushy, salesman-y type like some of the other companies. Honestly if anyone i know is looking to do their floors i am sending them to these guys.

It went very well, Paul and his crew paid attention to details, Prepping the floors, stairs and banisters for sanding takes lots of patience which he and his crew performed . He was very knowledgeable of wood stain products. Pricing was good and fair. We even hired him to do another job already, and we still received the same quality work and professionalism.

I contacted Paul and he came over that Sunday to give a free consultation. He took measurements and put a quote together quickly for us. We have 2000 sq feet of Brazilian cherry wood and three flights of stairs we needed redone. Paul did everything in one weeks time and the floors looked (and continue to look) beautiful. I would recommend Paul to anyone. He was thorough and does great work!

Good luck getting a quote. Communicated and confirmed date, time and location for a quote on floor refinish several times. Day of, I confirm once more but he's in another state and misunderstood the date. Honestly this was very clear. Asked for a quote and to try and get something in writing upon his return and was told yes, never heard back.

we set up great hardwood to sand and reseal the first floor of our home while we were away. they did an excellent job, when we returned there was no sign that anyone had been there other than our shiny new floors. i wholeheartedly recommend them.

When we closed on the house the floors were very warn and looked super old and spotty. There were gaps and stains. Pawel was super helpful with the stain color decision making process. I met with him at the house where he stained a few sections of the space for me to get an idea of how it would look. He gave his opinion (which was spot on). While showing me these colors he allowed me to face time with our interior designer and answered all of her questions. We asked him to mix two common colors; basically he was a rock star! He was confident in color and gloss, which made me confident and comfortable with the decision. The floor is absolutely beautiful! We are so happy! It looks brand new!

Pawel is incredibly knowledgeable about all things hardwood. He took the time to go around our house and assess the condition of the floors before giving us an estimate on refinishing that, based on comps from other flooring companies, was very reasonable. When we broke it to him that we were planning on moving into the home in a short period of time, he assured us that he would do everything he could to get the work done in time. Wow, did he deliver. Pawel and Karol worked long hours and even weekends to hit the deadline. Their attention to detail and experience with refinishing flooring made us very comfortable leaving our new home in their very capable hands. The floors look brand new and the guys didn't cut a single corner, even with the time restraint. Pawel was very friendly and a real pleasure to do business with.

My family recently purchased an amazing home in Lake Forest IL , the only problem was the outdated flooring! So being new in town we began asking neighbors of any local flooring contractors that can help us with new hardwood floor installation and sanding , staining the rest of the floors , which is how we ended up hiring Great Hardwood Flooring Services. From start to finish the process was great and we are very happy we hired this company. In the initial phone call we spoke to Pawel and set an appointment for him to look at our home and give us an estimate. The day of the appointment Pawel showed up at the set time with samples of the hardwood floors. He then proceeded with a walk thru of the house and at the end explained to us the different options. First he explained the different installation process; nail down, glue down and floating and recommended the best one for us and since we have a basement different hardwood has be used for that room. Overall we are very happy with our new hardwood floors and our house finally shows all of it potential! I give this company A plus rating because they live up to their name and the whole experience was easy and the prices were fair.
