Goode Plumbing worked through the general contractor on this project. It was qirky as the system is shared with the adjoining apartment; however, Mike and his staff completed the job efficiently, congeneality and creatively..

Jeff came out for an estimate and gave the best of the 3 that I obtained. Jeff was the primary plumber on the job as well. On work days (it took 4), he arrived as expected, worked constantly and efficiently, communicated whenever needed and did what he said he was going to do! Amazing! Very personable, reliable, smart, excellent craftsman.... Jeff coordinated his work well with that of my contractor, who is doing the rest of the work on the bathroom. Gave helpful input on bathroom design, plumbing resources. Only met Mike Goode (owner) at the end of a phone line, but found him to be knowledgeable, responsive, generous with his time and fair with his prices. Really enjoyed working with Goode Plumbing on this project. Have asked them back out to install the new kitchen sink when it arrives and to place the new fixtures when the bathroom walls are done.

Excellent experience all the way around. When other problems cropped up as a result of work done, they came out on off hours (and quickly) to make repairs. Awesome service.

I called Goode after another plumber was a no show. Mike called me back right away and set an appointment for last Saturday at 11. Jeff called at 10 on Sat after finishing his other job early. He was able to shut off the main water supply from outside the house and repair the valve...and then he found that the water was coming in through a 2nd water line elsewhere in the house. He spent additional time trying to locate the 2nd line that was drywalled over previously, which was more than what we asked him to do. And because the work didn't fix our ultimate problem of being unable to shut off our water supply, he charged us less than half of the estimate, even though he did exactly what we asked him to do. What a decent and generous gesture! I will definitely use Goode again - they are honest and responsive and professional. Thank you so much for your work.

We called Goode Plumbing b/c our ejector pit pump was continuously running (installed by a different contractor) & they were able to send someone out within 30 minutes to take a look. Since they were already coming to the house, I requested a quote to rod the drains (something I intended to do later this year anyway) and to repair a leaky exterior faucet. They were able to give me a quote for everything on the spot, and we scheduled the work for later the same week. (They offered to take care of the faulty pump that same day but it wasn't an emergency so I opted to schedule a time that worked better for me). They wore covers on their shoes, tarped all carpeting & furniture as needed, and put covers on the drain rodding equipment wheels as well. All of the work was done well, and the plumber even caulked around the ejector pit for us when he was finished to ensure that we wouldn't have to deal with a sewer smell. I'm not sure how the price for the pit pump compares, but the price for drain rodding was nearly half that of the Angie's List company that we used last year. Goode gave us an accurate estimate & charged for the job as opposed to charging by the hour as many other plumbing companies we've used in the past have done. We are very very happy with this company & will definitely be calling them for any future plumbing needs.

Mike was right on time. He wore covers on his shoes to not dirty our floors. He took a look at our problem and was able to give me a quote, which included parts and labor, immediately. The toilet needed some new parts and bolts, and he had all of them in his truck. Our toilet is circa 1940's, so some of the parts can be hard to find.

Both members of the Goode team with whom I've worked were responsive, punctual and professional. The price was good for the work they did and their work was thorough and high-quality. They were very respectful of me and of my home. They are my go-to plumber from this point forward in Chicago. As positive an experience as you can have when dealing with plumbing problems;-)

We called Goode plumbing on a Saturday after our water heater rusted out. We told him that we weren't in a hurry and did not want emergency service, but we did want an estimate and installation the following week. Mike Goode came out that afternoon. He had experience with several tankless water heaters and gave us estimates on a hybrid tankless heater and a tankless machine as well as a traditional storage tank heater. We decided on the hybrid being the most efficient option. Unfortunately, we were unable to arrange our schedule for the installation until Friday. The installation was smooth. It took a full day, as Mike said it would, and the work is beautiful. They even insulated the new pipes!

Very quick return call from owner. Quick to come in and give estimate. Was not the lowest bid, but was most professional and knowledgeable. Jeff K. showed up on time to complete the work. Very polite & respectful. Took a little longer to complete than estimated, but everything does when dealing with 100 year old houses. Actually used them again for a second job a few months later & requested same guy. That says something, right?

Mike called me right back the same day I requested service. He showed up within three days on the day he promised within the window he promised. He was very friendly and knowledgeable; had one problem fixed and the other two diagnosed within an hour. I was confident in the job he had done, and he recommended a drywall repair outfit to fix our hole in the ceiling from the leak. Very thorough, professional and super cute VW service van!

When I called during daytime hours, there was someone there to answer the phone and schedule an appointment, which hasn't always been my experience with contractors. Though they were not able to get someone here right away, there was no emergency so I was fine with waiting two days. The scheduler was friendly and courteous, as was the plumber when he arrived right on time. He tried to fix the broken disposer, but as I suspected, discovered he'd need to replace it. Though Goode stocks better disposers than I needed, he went to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up one that was exactly the same model (and less expensive than the ones Goode stocks) as the broken disposer, and returned within a half hour. After replacing the disposer, the plumber went to work on the toilet; he tried to augur out the clog, but there was a large piece of glass stuck in the pipe, necessitating removal and resetting. All work was performed quickly and efficiently, and he cleaned up all debris. The cost seemed more expensive than I expected, but I've never dealt with plumbers so I didn't have anything to compare to. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would use Goode again.

Jeff K. was the technician that came out initially for an estimate and quote and also later performed the actual work. Very professional and easy to talk to. Had no issues with the installation whatsoever. He actually had to run out to get parts to repair the sink pipes since I did not tell him I wanted to fix the problem until he got to the house. The only snafu was a mixup with scheduling where they initially had to delay the work by one day due to previous job running late, then on the newly scheduled date, they did not realize they were supposed to come that day until I called them. They were apologetic of the mistake and did indeed do a fine job of replacing the water tank as I mentioned. I was slightly disappointed at not receiving some kind of compensation for all the scheduling snafus (I worked from home this past week, it'd be a major hassle if I did not), but I was happy with the quality of the work performed.

The plumbing under my sink started spewing water. I tried to tighten it back up but that didn't work. Clearly it needed to be redone (it had been a do-it-yourself rig) immediately, as the sink could not be used. This happened (of course) late on a Sunday. Goode responded to the call right away, came early the next day on time, was professional and fixed the problem. It's six months later and we're all good!

Mike showed up on time for the estimate. He was polite and professional. The work performed by Mike and his people was top quality. They are exceptionally clean and respectful of your property. I would recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing/sewer work.

Mike showed up on time, and couldn't have been more professional. He always made sure to put covers on his shoes to make sure he didn't track in any dirt. After looking at the ejection pump, he discovered an electrical failure that caused the pump to stop working. Within a few minutes he had everything re-wired, and it was working perfectly. He made sure to check the toilets to make sure they were running, and gave me some tips to help with the cleanup process. Mike charged the service minimum, and he was happy to give a 10% discount when I let him know I found his service on Angie's List. We talked a bit about his business, and he described to me how important it is that all his customers are happy and content with his work. After we took care of the billing, I asked if wouldn't mind looking at my garbage disposal, which had stopped working a couple days before. Mike made two separate trips out to his truck to find the right tools, and he managed to get my garbage disposal working again. I asked him what the charge would be, and he refused to take payment for the repair! I can't say enough how happy I am with Angie's List for connecting me with Goode Plumbing. I've never had a service call of any type where I felt so positive about the experience. The price was very affordable, Mike was the consummate professional, and he went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied. I'm recommending Goode Plumbing to anyone I know that has plumbing issues, and Angie's List members shouldn't hesitate to give them a try. I almost feel like the A rating isn't high enough!

Customer service person who booked the appointment was courteous and dispatched me to a tech so there would be no confusion about pricing for repair. The tech arrived and was quiet and hard-working; the rodding machine looked simple and was powerful. The tech repaired the problem within 10-15 minutes but didn't offer any explanation of work involved; I didn't ask either because the drain was cleared. He was the professional and knew what to do right away. He recommended that I buy a drain hair cover.

Mike was punctual, polite, and very knowledgeable, I actually learned things, like importance of replacing anode rod to prolong life of water heater but not forced into adding options. Advised me of date and approximate time planned for job, then called to tell me when technician was on his way. The technician (Jeff) was also polite and very patient with the myriad of questions I asked. He helped me understand water line and sump pump connections thru out my basement even though he was not working on them. When he found the outside drain clear after testing, he did not perform a clean-out, which saved a chunk of cost. Finished everything in about 2 hours. He cleaned up the basement floor when he was done and wore shoe booties into my house when we went over the bill. Extremely happy from start to finish!

We detailed the plumbing issues that needed to be addressed, Mike advised the likely steps that would be necessary. His estimation of repairs were accurate as was his ballpark estimate. The repairs were done very promptly and the cost was well in line with our expectations.

Mike is a nice guy; he took the time to come and do my job himself the next day after he gave me the estimate. And he answered all of my questions and put up with the unrelated conversation. Another contractor that installed my water heater had improperly vented it into the furnace duct instead of tying it into the other water heater flue. So this was painlessly corrected in a little over an hour. I don't know if this is the cheapest it could have been done for but it was done quickly on very short notice. Mike seems to be an honest contractor and I would definitely call him in a pinch.

Goode Plumbing cost about $100 more than our past plumber to do the same job (drain rodding, I believe). We had to find a new contact as our plumber died recently. Still, the price did seem fair and they have additional professional touches, including office staff, etc. The only thing I can even slightly say didn't go as planned is that the truck needed to do the rodding was broken down and they had to push back the follow up by a week after changing the appt 2 times due to the work on the truck. When I recieved an invoice, I was overcharged (they forgot to take off the Angie's List discount and didn't credit the first assessment charge). Once I explained this to Mike Goode, he was apologetic and agreeable. Just pay attention to the billing. and keep the paperwork from your assessment as an official estimate. I would highly recommend this organization. I had an overall good experience and any complaints mentioned are the things you'd never think too much about later but Angie's List allows for the utmost in detail.

Fantastic. They were on time and did an incredible job on all 3 projects. We love the faucet and very happy with the work both outside and inside. Would defintely recommend to anyone.

Showed up on time, fixed the leak and it hasn't leaked since. Very good experience.

The plumber was able to come out the same day I called for service much to my delight. He showed up around the time he said he would and completed both jobs in less than an hour. I was impressed that when he entered the house he put on paper booties so as not to track any dirt inside.

The work went extremely well. At this point, I really have to commend Mike's employee, Ernie. Ernie was very knowledgeable, explained things really well and did EXTREMELY neat work. When he was done, the basement was cleaner than when he started! After they started the work, I remembered another problem that our house appraiser had told us about. The hot water heater that was installed about a year ago, was leaking, due to yet ANOTHER plumbing company to fail us! Ernie took care of it as well. He also noticed an electrical outlet that the sump pump and new ejector pump were plugged into needed to be changed. When he was done with all the work, I asked him if there was anything else that he noticed down there that needed to be fixed. You'd be afraid to ask this question of other companies...thinking that they were going to fleece you, but I had every confidence to ask Ernie for his evaluation. And I'm glad to report that he didn't find anything else and thought that everything else looked good. YAY...chalk one up for us!

The project took a little over a week to complete. Mike is very professional and responds quickly. He takes the time to explain the process and answered all of our questions. I am very happy to report that as soon as the system was installed, we had a very significant rainstorm and did not get any water in the basement.
