They returned my phone call about 30 minutes after I left my message. I explained my problem, and Mike (I think was his name) said that it sounded like an Appliance Repair issue as opposed to a Plumbing issue. He referred me to another guy who was equally professional and quick to respond to my problems. I will certainly call again when I have a real plumbing issue.

He fixed the issues, was timely and punctual, efficient and was a overall good experience... took him less than an hour.

Our oversize disposal had become disconnected. It's heavy and awkward to get to. Goode Plumber came out earlier than expected (called first, though, to be sure we were home). The emergency service cost half of what other estimates had been. Excellent service and very responsive.

Selected through Angie's List. Mr. Goode responded to my initial call promptly; visited our home the same day and adjusted existing water heater to tide us over at no charge. He provided written quotations for both conventional and "hybrid on demand" systems installations. After weighing the pros and cons, we selected the latter, advised Mr. Goode of our decision and made a date for installation. He and his crew arrived when he said they would and completed the job in one day (though they returned the following day to correct flawed electrical wiring necessary to a successful installation). In all instances Mr. Goode and his crew were quite professional and businesslike. The installation is tidy and the system performs (so far) as well or better than our previous conventional heaters. Inasmuch as we replaced 2 water heaters with this system, we're hopeful our utility costs will decline so as to at least partially offset its incremental cost. We're quite satisfied and happy to endorse and recommend Mr. Goode and his firm.

The came out exactly at the time they said they would, worked steadily all day, the installation was professional and the basement was left possibly cleaner than when they arrived. Both of the people who worked on the job were polite and pleasant to work with. I would hire again.

I am overall impressed. I reached the owner who assigned, Bob to the job. There was good communication and the job was well done. I experienced courtesy each step of the way and the price was fair.

Went to Community Home Supply to investigate about the energy efficient hot water heaters. Decided to go with the Eternal Hybrid system, and asked for contractors that installed them. I had two contractors come out to provide an estimate and explain the process. Michael Goode was prompt in arriving to check out my place, and explained the whole process he'd go through for the installation, and answered all questions so that I could understand them. I felt like he knew what he was doing (as he's done several installations of this specific unit). It was an easy decision to go with Mike, and he scheduled the appointment in just a few days. The day of installation went smoothly, and he did a great job. He was neat, and cleaned up the mess. He cleared out the old water heater, and explained how to work the new unit. It is working well, and would definitely use him again, as well as refer him to anyone who needs a similar service.

On Monday morning, my wife and I noticed that our hot water heater was leaking from the relief valve. As we know that this is not typical for a hot water heater - I called Goode Plumbing who had done good work for us in the past. Mike Goode answered my call and had a contactor at my condo unit in less than an hour. He examined the hot water tank and determined that the relief valve was corroded and was allowing water to pour out. He replaced the valve and cleaned up in less than 2 hours. The work was done exceptionally well. The total cost for the valve and the labor was just under $300 which was reasonable considering the circumstances. I will definitely use Goode Plumbing again for work on my condo unit.

Jeff removed the old leaking pipe from my 100+-year-old bathroom and replaced it - from the second floor all the way to the basement - with new copper piping. He did this in 4 1/2 hours, including his time to remove more wall from both floors. He took great care to clean up and remove the debris, including getting on his hands and knees to mop up his boot prints on my bathroom and kitchen floors before he left. He diligently removed all debris from the drywall from the walls he had to remove from both bathrooms from my unit and my tenant's unit below. While I am "minus" two bathroom walls that will need to be replaced in both my unit and my tenant's below, Jeff diligently did what needed to be done given the circumstances and he did so in a very professional manner. I have used another Chicago-area plumber in the past that does good work but is extremely over-priced. That's why I went to Angie's List to find a new plumber and found Goode. I felt their price for the work - $850 - was very reasonable considering what had to be done. I paid a little more than $850 only because Jeff had to do an "emergency" fix on my toilet shut off valve when he came on Friday. Overall, their responsiveness and professionalism were great and I would definitely use Goode Plumbing again. Jeff and Mike were great!

We are very pleased with Mike and Goode Plumbing. We plan to use his services in the near future for another job. Mike is incredibly knowledgable and gave us great advice about what needed to be done to prevent big problems in the future. We are on a tight budget, so his price was a little more than what we hoped to pay, but it is very reasonable considering the quality of work he provided. We used our Angie's List coupon (be certain to remind him you've got one), so that helped. We didn't have a deadline for the project, and it took two and a half weeks to complete. (There were holidays in between Mike's first visit and completion of the job, so that was probably a factor.) Mike is extremely articulate and considerate. He actually made an effort not to drag dirt into our unit, and he didn't leave a mess of items that needed to be cleaned up after he left.

Jeff, the plumber who came out to our house, was incredibly friendly and professional. He did a thorough job where many others might have given up, and discounted the cost of his labor to take into account the extra time spent troubleshooting our problematic toilet. We were really pleased with the work that he did, and will definitely be calling Goode back the next time we have a plumbing issue.

We returned home from a 10-day vacation very late on Christmas Eve to a soaking wet carpet in our basement. After trying to figure out where the leak was coming from, we gave up and started calling plumbers on Christmas Day. We received very high quotes from various plumbers, including the provider on Angie's List which has been reviewed the most and which we have used in the past. When we connected with Michael Goode, the owner of Goode Plumbing, we were convinced that we should just wait until Monday morning so the rates would be regular instead of double for weekend service. We had also made an appointment with another provider (mentioned above but not named because we don't want to slam them - they're fine) but wanted to try Goode Plumbing because of the incredible reviews they had received from other Angie's List users. BOY, ARE WE THRILLED WE DID! Michael Goode was extremely responsive and scheduled to have a plumber out first thing Monday morning. Bob D., from Goode, was here promptly at 8:10 am and assessed the situation. His initial hunch was the same as ours (a broken pipe), but given the information we supplied him while he was here, he reevaluated the source of our leak and pinpointed the real culprit...our hot water heater. Once the problem was correctly identified, he gave us an estimate of the job to be performed. Goode plumbing provided us with a very reasonable flat rate. Bob realized he needed to pick-up a new hot water heater and another plumber to assist him with the job - normally I would expect to hear the "have to make another appointment" speech - but Bob got right on it, called Mike to confirm and they said Bob could be back in a couple of hours to complete the job!!! Bob returned to our house within less than a couple of hours with another plumber, Ernie, to help him with the job. The brought the new hot water heater and other materials and finished the job swiftly. We were EXTREMELY PLEASED with the workmanship and Bob and Ernie left our home SPOTLESS. Bob and Ernie were both extremely thorough, patient and considerate during their time in our home. Considering the quality of work and time to do the work, the rate was great compared to what others would have charged - it would have likely worked out to at least 25% more with any of the other plumbers. We will definitely use Goode Plumbing for all of our future plumbing needs!

I worked with Mike, the owner, and was absolutely impressed by him. I had done some homework online where I read about the Eternal Hybrid water heater and found him through Eternal's website. So happy to get to know him as I would work with him on any project. First of all, he has to be the hardest working plumber in the city. He was going to come over for an estimate on Friday evening after an install. That install went late (he later told me around midnight due to complications he couldn't control) and he called me the next morning just after 7. He made it over and after inspection confirmed that that unit was right for the house and gave me the estimate the next day. It was a bit pricey but with the rebates available and the long term efficiency, I think this will be a good investment. He set up an install date and was there as promised. He was absolutely thorough and approached the job with the attention and care he would have used at his own house. The job was tricky in that we live in an old Victorian (1892) and the new intake and exhaust lines needed to be threaded through the base of our old chimney, then out to the side of the house. (My only request would have been that before drilling through the many layers of brick, that some sort of plastic was put up to reduce the dust. We still have some clean up to do..) The job took two days and was completed with great craft and care. The new lines were beautifully installed and he went beyond and above the call working the system into its new environment - which included redoing some other gas and drainage lines so that it all made sense. I would absolutely recommend Mike and Goode Plumbing to anyone for any sized job!

I could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. Mike's crew were prompt, clean, more than willing to discuss details before and during the work, and worked very well with Tigele Tile & Mosaics (who you will also find very highly rated on Angie's List) who were responsible for the demolition and rebuilding of the bathrooms around the plumbers. Most important to mention is that Mike Goode's quote was very competitive indeed when compared to 2 other estimates and his demeanor and attention to detail completely set me at ease. During the project he and his crew kept me apprised of every detail, emailing me photos and a short summary at the end of each day. There were no surprises, just information and progress according to schedule (I had set a rather optimistic schedule and to my surprise they worked pretty long days to adhere to it!) I should say that I used another company for some of the initial diagnostic and minor repairs (which were band aids for a bigger problem) -- this company is very established and reputable in Chicago, and expensive as a result. I should also say that I will never use that company again --- I believe Mike Goode's price, quality, and overall service is hands down the best. Came out on time . Did everything right. Completed job timely and neatly. Took Visa card. Would use again. Specializes in repairing and restoring. Gave quotes for future jobs of to restore our good old plumbing from the 1940s. My husband it the one who was home when Mike came out to do work. He is an licensed Mechanical Engineer and works with contractors all the time and he was pleased with the knowledge and service.

It started out good. MIke showed up on time. My first good impression was his willingness to put on shoe plastic covers while walking through the house. We discussed my plumbing problem in detail and he addressed my concerns. Upon conclusion of our discussion, he said he would send an estimate to me later that night via email. I called the following day and he said he would for sure send the estimate to me latter that day via email. I didn't receive the estimate via email at day's end nor a follow up call from Mike. To give him the benefit of doubt, I checked my spam bucket but no email. I realize he is busy, but a message indicating this would suffice.

When the ejector pump (installed 7 years ago) for the basement bathroom was operating intermittently, Mike came out twice. At the first visit, he reported that the pump was still working and did not charge me for the service call. He also did not pressure me into buying a new pump because what I had was of high quality, but advised that it might be a consideration in the future due to its age. When the problem persisted, he came out and installed a new pump. He was detailed in making provisions to prevent overheating and other potential problems. I had called on Goode Plumbing previously for installation of a hose bib and was happy with the work. I consider Mike Goode among the handful of service providers that I completely trust. He returns calls, is prompt, thorough in his work and takes the time to explain the project. Dealing with plumbing issues can be a dreaded experience. Mike is honest, calm and professional ? a pleasure to work with.

Goode was a life saver and Jeff, in particular, was fabulous. I had been told by a previous contractor that there was no way I could use my deck mount faucet as there was no way the tub could be drilled. I had purchased a second floor mount faucet at great additional expense. Jeff told me drilling the tub was no problem, facilitated the job with an outside contractor (who did a fabulous job) and installed the faucet. I was able to return the floor mount faucet and saved $500 dollars. Jeff scheduled it all and had it done in one afternoon and on schedule. He did wonderful work, cleaned and polished the tub and faucet and left everything tidy.

After a very confusing initial visit (very understandable as explained later), the experience could not have been more pleasant. Mike Goode called, came out within an hour, and addressed our major concern to our complete satisfaction. He returned at a time convenient to us to complete other jobs and explained what would be involved in a future complex job and gave an estimate. Mike Goode extended every effort to make right a situation that, unfortunately, should not have developed. His professionalism and courtesy were much appreciated. We give him the highest recommendation.

Immediate response from my first call. Mike was able to fit me into their schedule same day. (a bonus) Called me when he knew the time range for the technician to arrive. Called again to verify time frame. Jeff came in and fixed the problem right away and was very professional. Drain all cleaned out. We called other companies in addition to Goode Plumbing, but they were the only ones to answer same day. Good service and great customer service.

Arrived on time, got right to work. Identified where the leak was and explained to my husband how to repair so it would be less expensive. Blew out the upstairs shower so now it can be used.

This was a tremendous experience. Mike was professional from day one, starting with initial phone call from me. He offered next day service, and he showed up on time ready to work. When he appeared at my door, he immediately donned his protective footwear to avoid bringing anything with him on his shoes to my condo. Note: he did not ask if I wanted him to put these on, he put them on as a matter of course. It is a great feeling when you tell Mike what exactly the problems are, and he replies assuredly, "Oh, yes, we can fix that." I liked the way he would talk his way through the process, explaining what he was doing at each step and informing why some parts need replacing. I also appreciated the fact that he used high quality parts, replacing the cheap and now broken products put in previously. He also guarantees the products and his work in writing. Rarely do I get the opportunity to work with someone who impresses me immediately with his professionalism and dedication. Mike is not got going stop his work until the job is done and done right. That means alot. He cares tremendously about his work and the quality of that work. His commitment to customer service and ensuring that the customer are completely satisfied with his work is also reassuring. I also appreciate that Mike keeps up with continued education courses and research to keep abreast of new products and new product features. I can honestly say that for any plumbing problem I face in the future, I will only call on Goode Plumbing. There is no need to get a quote, estimate, or examination from someone else. I trust his work and commitment that much. It was a pleasure to work with him.
