"Thank you very much for your review. We have done several projects with the architect that recommended us to this client. This job was to install a new, extra deep rain water basin and sump pump. We also added a Zoeller battery back up system. My plumber, Ernie, and one our assistants, Ed, carried out the bulk of the work. I am very happy that we were able to please you with this work! I appreciate your confidence in choosing us."
"Thank you for the review and the work. This Member had a water heater that was leaking. When I looked at the water heater, it was leaking badly enough that I felt that waiting over the weekend might be too long, so we worked things out to get it done quickly. We removed his old unit, and provided a Bradford White replacement. This is a high quality water heater that is made in the USA, and one that we back up with a 6 year labor warranty, improving on the factory provided warranty by 5 years. We installed our full port drain valve, a new shut off valve, and required water and gas supply piping modifications. We appreciate the business and are sure this water heater will provide years of reliable service."
"Thank you very much for the review and the work. We have been to this client's building a few times. I appreciate your patience with the most recent service call-this Member and I missed phone calls from each other a few times as I was working in a high rise building with low reception."
"Thank you for the loyalty and the recent work. This client had a drain issue recently- some piping had been installed improperly by someone in the past and we were able to redesign things and get it working properly. We appreciate the business and your taking time to review us here!"
"Thank you for the work that you rewarded us with, and taking the time to review us here. I am glad that you were happy with our service-our goal is of course, to make sure that you received excellent work at a fair price. I am sorry that you were surprised by a higher than expected cost. Quality plumbing is not inexpensive, this is true. To run a professional business that carries all of the proper licensing, insurance, top quality parts and materials, and trained, professional plumbing technicans, is expensive, but it does, overall, protect you, the homeowner. We do the best we can with our pricing without sacrificing quality, and think we are quite competitive with what we charge. Thank you very much again-we were happy to be of service to you."
"Thank you for being a loyal client. We have done several services for this Member-rodding drains and other repairs to parts of the plumbing system in his home. Our goal is to build a relationship with our customers."
"Thank you for the words as well as the service call. Ernie is a patient plumbing tech-sometimes we come across an unusual fixture or something odd in terms of the way a certain drain system was installed, but we do our best to work with things and get the issue resolved."
"Thank you very much for the review as well as the work. Jeff IS amazing and we are proud to have him as part of our team. He takes a lot of pride in his work and his relationship with clients, and truly loves solving problems."
"Thank you for the work and the kind words. We quote a price up front whenever possible. In unusual situations where we may not know what we are in for, we do keep our customers informed on price. No one likes a surprise, so our upfront pricing keeps that to a minimum. The work and the review are both appreciated."
"Thank you, Member, for the kind words and for the service call. I am glad that you were happy with our service! Develle takes a lot of pride in his work and I am glad that it showed here."
"Thank you very much for the work and the review here on Angie's List. This client had a food waste disposal that would not operate. I as able to retrieve an obstruction and clear things up to get it working again (in this case, someone had dropped some screws into the unit, causing it to jam)."
I managed this project for a small condo building. It took time, many emails and calls and meetings to get bids from multiple plumbers but when we went over everything we selected Goode. They didn't have the absolute lowest price but offered a solution that met our requirements and provided a longer term solution than other bidders by using cast iron pipes and not clay. They were willing to address options that other companies brought up to discuss pro's and con's.
Mike Goode was always easy to talk to and he was straight forward and easy to understand. He was patient with the smattering of questions that rolled in as our condo owners came up with new questions. Calls were returned promptly, even when they were occupied with other jobs.
As for the work, they were prompt, clean and thorough. The guys on the job were universally polite and considerate. They took time to explain to me what they had done and what they were going to do whenever I checked in. They spent extra time and materials to provide more than the minimum solutions, too. For instance, besides using cast iron instead of clay, when removing the grease trap, instead of putting in pipes that made the most direct connection (and thus using the least amount of copper piping), they took it on themselves to put in extra piping that put the pipes out of the way, so the room was more usable.
I can't really judge the quality of the buried pipe work, which is why I waited a month to enter this report. So far everything is flowing smooth, the basement looks better than it did before they arrived, and my fellow owners are happy.
"Thank you very much for rewarding us with the plumbing project at your condo building. As was the case here, we cannot always promise the lowest price-but we do our best to give you the best possible service and quality. The quality of the materials here are backed up by our excellent warranty. In Chicago, it is required that one uses cast iron below grade, within the structure of the building. We agree with this in this situation for durability reasons. This was a two part main drain repair. We did find some additional damage to the drain, which took some extra time to repair properly, so we do appreciate the patience of the residents."
Bottom-line, Cadillac not only is him nickname it is also the way he performs! I would gladly call Goode back if needed and certainly would welcome Develle as the servicing rep.

"We appreciate the work and the review here, and Develle appreciated the Cadillac comment! We all do our best to provide high quality service and materials at a reasonable rate, and I am glad that things worked out well here. Thank you very much!"
"Thank you for the words and the service call. There were a number of areas that needed some attention on this building, so I advised the client with some ideas and pricing. While there, I cleared a bath tub drain that was obstructed."
"Thank you , Member, for both the work as well as this report. I am glad we were able to assist in the replacement of your water heater. This one was a little tougher than normal due to its location, but we were able to get it done. We also referred the member to another highly rated Angie's List company for drywall repairs. The unit that we installed was a power vented Bradford White, which is efficient and is backed by our full six year parts and labor warranty."
"Thank you very much for the review as well as the work. This was for a flood control system for a home. Our systems feature all cast iron drain piping within the flood control system, clean outs for rodding, a heavy duty cast iron ejector pump, copper pump discharge piping, and a pre cast enclosure when possible. In this case, we had to remove a walkway section, which we came back to replace after the ground settle for a week or two. We appreciate the business and have to say that this client was just wonderful to deal with. Everyone at Goode Plumbing that worked on this project appreciated the hospitality and the work."
"We appreciate the kind words, the work, and the report here on Angie's List. We do a good number of environmentally friendly products-Water Sense products, dual flush toilets, and energy conserving water heaters. In this case, we came to the agreement with this client that a tankless unit made the most sense here. We use our mounting board which makes the installation more solid than using simply the factory supplied units. Our standard valve kit makes maintenance easier. Proper gas supply, venting, and intake are all very important, and we have the experience to make sure that these things are done as they should be. This Member was very nice to work with, and appreciate your allowing us the extra time needed to finish this job correctly."
Mike Goode did a great job fxing the water heater. He was prompt, knowledgeable courteous, professional, and an overall good guy. I really appreciate that he was able to get us back up and running so quickly. I would definitely use Goode Plumbing again.
"Thank you for the report and for having me out to your home to repair your water heater. We were indeed very busy that day, but as this member had no hot water for his family, and I had a job in progress not extremely far away, I did my best to fit him in. I am glad I was able to repair the water heater and appreciate the business very much."
"Than you for the review. I installed a new P trap, tailpiece, nuts and seals, and made sure everything was working properly and tightly sealed under this Member's kitchen sink. I appreciate the service call."
"Thank you for the rewarding us with this work. We added a frost resistant hose faucet where there was not one previously. Even though the faucet is, as stated, "frost resistant", we do recommend installing a shut off and drain valve when installing these. One of the most common service calls we get in spring is for replacing frost resistant hose faucets that were damaged from freezing. Shutting off and draining the water is the best way to prevent this from happening."
A couple of days after the installation, we noticed a slight leak from the old plumbing under our bathroom sink. Mike came out again promptly and repaired the leak. We decided that we would prefer to have the single handle kitchen faucet on the left side rather than the right side as it was installed. Mike switched it around and did not charge us for his time.
We are very satisfied with the work Mike performed and my wIfe and I both felt Mike was professional and pleasant. I would feel comfortable recommending Mike Goode Plumbing to family and friends.
"Thank you, Member. I appreciate the work and the comments in the review you were kind enough to submit. As the Member stated, we installed a new kitchen sink faucet and shut off valves for this as well as an older bathroom sink faucet. We did have to make an adjustment to the existing supply lines, which produced a drip after we left. It was a pleasure to work for this customer and appreciate the business."
"Thank you for the kind words, Member. As the member mentioned, there was a covered drum type trap under the floor of this bathroom, which would have been nearly impossible to get through using a conventional drain cleaning machine without breaking into the floor. I was able to clear the obstruction using a kinetic tool, thereby keeping the bathroom intact. I also drilled out a screw that someone broke off in the tub overflow and installed a replacement."
"Thank you very, very much for the very nice review and for rewarding us with the work in your home. We pushed so that this member could have a BBQ grill up and running for the weekend-as mentioned, our plumber Bob Devore ran a new gas supply pipe system over for that. A few days later, we came back to replace her existing, storage type water heater with a new, more efficient (both space and energy) hybrid water heater. As mentioned, when our plumber Ernie and assistant Ed Huchro were installing the unit, it became necessary to remove the door frame in order to get the old unit out. As the Member did not have hot water, Jeff and I came out to help complete the installation. We hope our services will help this Member enjoy her new home."
"Thank you very much for allowing us into your home to complete this service call. We appreciate your business very much."
"Thank you very much for the work and the kind words! I visited this Member's home to do an inspection of a flood control system as she had just purchased the home and wanted to make sure things were in good working condition. I found that no electrical power had been run to the system-and that the pump that was installed, was did not work when I ran an extension cord to it for testing. She hired the electrician we recommended-Wilson Electric, who is also rated highly on Angie's List. After Wade from Wilson electric ran electrical power to the flood control system, we installed a new, high quality ejector pump, a new, brass check valve, and added a brass union to make removal and installation of the pump easier in the future. Our new ejector pumps now come with a 3 year parts and labor warranty from us. We certainly appreciate gaining this new customer!"
