Great experience with Goode Plumbing, we had a slow flushing toilet and Develle was able to diagnose the problem quickly. Replaced the fill valve, and explained the charges to us so we knew exactly what we were getting. He also demonstrated how to adjust our water heater properly, as well as troubleshooting a leaky sink. It rained alot that day, and without prompting Develle put some covers on his shoes which was very thoughtful of him. We did not print out our Angie's List coupons, but I was able to email Mike and he still provided the discount. Would recommend them to anyone

Mike was very prompt in returning my call for service. He was knowledgable regarding the repair that most likely needed to be done, and gave us a fair estimate of the work that would be required. We ended up replacing the hot water heater instead of repairing due to age, and we got a fair price from him. He had blocked enough time in his schedule so that he could travel back to his office, get a new tank and still get it installed, and he were back with hot water shortly after noon. Goode Plumbing was able to send someone same day and provided an estimate over the phone that was far below the others we received. Once the work was done, the charge ended up being even less than what they had estimated. The gentleman who came to our house to repair a leaking toilet was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would definitely call them first for any future plumbing work!

Mike was very friendly and professional. He came out to assess a water pressure issue, and was able to quickly provide a solution. He also advised me of other options should this fix not meet my needs. He was very fair about charging.

Was quoted for several items including fixing a bad water heater installation, leaking sink, leaking faucets, and replacing an outdoor faucet. Plumber was great, friendly, and knowledgeable. Total work estimated cost was going to be over $1700. I ended up only selecting to fix the leaking sink and faucets which cost $350 and was happy with the results. Later got two separate quotes for the water heater and outdoor faucet, and they came in for less than half of what Goode plumbing was going to charge me. Overall I was happy with the service provided, but a little disappointed that the price estimate for other work was so high.

Plumber missed his window which I think was due to the original appointment time is the one he hit, but the changed one he missed. Can't blame him. Very professional person, did great work and explained things along the way. I will definitly call them again.

Great. The plumber showed up, looked at the tank and explained the problem to me. He left to go get a part from a supply warehouse. He was back about 90 minutes later and quickly fixed the mechanicals. He then showed me what he did and left.

We recently moved to Boston from Chicago. However, we had not yet sold our condo in Chicago given marketplace conditions. We finally did get an offer and of course this required a home inspection. Since our unit was a duplex down with a bathroom on the ground level, sewage is pumped out of the basement using an ejector pump. The buyer's inspector stated that the ejector pump needed to be completely replaced. We had no idea the extent of the work that would be needed, the cost and not to mention what an 'ejector pump' actually did. Also keep in mind we're living in Boston trying to sell our house in Chicago. We looked up plumbers in Chicago on Angie's List and found Mike Goode. We explained the situation to Mike and he fully understood. Our realtor provided keys for Mike to provide a cost estimate. This was done only days after we called him. Mike provided a thorough explanation of the work required as well as options based on budget. We knew his cost estimate was on the mark as we had other bids. We eventually hired Mike to complete the job. Again, the work was completed only days after we contacted him. Keep in mind, we had never met face-to-face given geography. The work passed inspection. We were extremely fortunate to find Mike given our situation. Thorough, honest, responsive - and wasn't even overly concerned about timing of payment ! For those who are looking for a great plumber or have been burned with a previous plumber, do yourselves a favor and call Goode Plumbing.

Goode plumbing showed up on time and completed the job as promised despite having to deal with rainy weather and slow service from the city inspectors. The crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves.They had to remove part of the front walk way in order to get to the sewer line and re-paved in when they were done. Although we have not received the rains this summer as in the past so I cannot tell for sure that the valve is working, I believe that Mike and his crew's valve will work as promised when the heavy rains come, and they will. Mike was very professional and honored the 10% off plumbing services coupon on Angie's List which saved me some money. I would definitely recommend Mike and his company to anyone who needs plumbing service.

I recently went through the process of purchasing a home. During this process, it was discovered that the water heater was on it's last leg and would need to be replaced. After much wrangling with the previous owners, the purchase was complete and I set out to get the water heater inspected and possibly replaced. I had no idea where to turn and I found Goode plumbing and really liked the reviews. I call to get an appointment for the water heater inspection and was told I would receive a call later that day. I got the call back as promised and my work with Mike began. He was able to come in the next day to take a look at the water heater. When he arrived, I walked him through what I was seeing from my low water pressure to the brown murky hot water that I was getting. I then took him to the unit, he looked it over and gave me his assessment. Just as I suspected, my 12 year old water heater was dying, and in the process was messing up my water pressure. Mike walked me through everything he thought could be wrong, showed me the debris in some of the flow valves that supported his claims and walked me through what the process would be. He gave me the estimate, talked to me about the water heater that would be installed and walked me through how he would blow out the plumbing to get that water pressure back up to speed. He was very nice and thorough and I was glad to be giving my business to him. When I decided to go through with the work, I was under a bit of a time constraint. Mike was very understanding and agreed to work me in if possible. He needed to check his schedule to see if he could do it but would let me know. As it turned out, he was able to fit me in during the afternoon on a Thursday, which was only a few days after the assessment. He and his brother showed up on Thursday and were ready to get to work. They brought in the water heater (which is no small task with my stairs), installed it, carted away the old one, added a drip pan, flushed out my pipes, re-worked the exhaust venting, and re-piped as needed. It took them a little longer than anticipated, but they stuck it out until the job was finished that evening. Then, Mike walked me through everything that had been done and even showed me the grand finale: completely increased water pressure. His work had taken my shower and faucets from anemic annoying dripping wastes to full blast cleaning machines. The water heater is efficient, works well, and is a great addition. They also cleaned up everything and even relocated a shelf for me. With all of the time, energy, and dedication that Mike put into this water heater and their commitment to giving you the best price they can, I feel at ease knowing this one will last for quite some time. I couldn't have gotten a better plumber to do the work and am glad I called Goode. Mike even thanked me for the work! I've had experiences in the past where this was not the case, and he was genuinely appreciative. With as busy as they are, this is a great thing. I will use them going forward for all of my plumbing needs.

We'd been getting water seeping up from the foundation in our finished basement for a couple summers. PermaSeal was stumped. Other plumbers we'd consulted were stumped. Finally, an architect diagnosed that he thought the problem was with the size and poor design of our sump pit and recommended Mike at Goode Plumbing to come out and take a look. Mike's team dug up and hauled away hundreds of pounds of concrete and gravel (without so much as a drip or drop left anywhere in my house). They upgraded the pump and backup system and left everything in meticulously clean order. We've had no water issues since they completed their work. I've worked with a half-dozen other plumbers through many rehabs and everyday plumbing issues in 4 different houses. No one compares with these guys. Mike may not be the fastest to get you a quote or schedule the work (probably because ours haven't been emergency issues, more like nagging headaches), but he will absolutely do thorough, thoughtful and totally professional work.

I noticed my 12 year old water heater had a slow leak from the top on Thursday evening. I called Michael Goode Friday based on his Angie's List reviews. He was able to fit me in Friday evening at 7 pm to assess the work needed. He confirmed the unit needed to be replaced and said he'd try to get me a quote that same evening or Saturday morning. He contacted me Friday evening at 10 pm with the quote and said because the heater was leaking he would fit me in to replace the unit Saturday morning at 8am. He called me at 7:50 am to inform me that the dealer for the heater wasn't opening until 8 am and that he would be a little later than anticipated. He arrived by 9 am and had the work completed before 11 am. He improved the mechanicals by adding new shut off valves, new exhaust connection, etc. There was nothing to clean up after his visit. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Michael!

Working with Goode's was very easy and the scheduleing went fine. Their workman arrived on time, was professional and pleasant and left our home clean. It was a good experience overall but it was a bit of a surprise on the price. It was about double what I had expected, esp. since this seemed a small job to us, but Goode's is very professional and competent.

I contacted Goode Plumbing today (Monday) for a non-urgent repair needed to our bathtub. We had used this company in the past and had a great experience, so I didn't have any reservations about calling them again. I left a message and someone returned my call promptly. I was expecting that someone would be available to come out later in the week, but they arranged for someone to come out later in the day. The plumbing technician arrived promptly between the specified times originally agreed upon. He was able to repair the problem with our tub drain successfully. When he was finished with the repair, he took the time to explain the repair performed and the root cause of the problem. He also gave me some tips to look out for to avoid future problems. Besides fixing our tub drain, he also calked our shower faucet after noticing that the seal was loose while repairing the tub drain. We are satisfied with the services provided by Goode Plumbing and will continue to call them for any future plumbing needs.

The upstair sink was clogged and water was overflowing from the vent into the basement. The plumbing was a bit unusual so Ernie had to spend a few hours trying to clear the obstruction but eventually got it rodded out. He was very professional, informative, and clean. Will definitely use them again.

This is the first time I used Angie's List and was skeptical, but read the reviews and contacted Goode Plumbing due to the high reviews and I am glad I did! I would definitely use them again and would recommend them.

We had a badly clogged bathtub drain. I called Goode Plumbing based on previous recommendations read here. I spoke to Michael Goode who told me he would have someone contact me by the afternoon. A few hours later I received a call from Develle who informed me he was on the way to our home. Develle power routed the tub and solved the problem! He was very efficient and cleaned everything up afterwards. Develle quoted me the price prior to starting the work; a price I felt was fair. I was very satisfied with the service provided.
