Goode Plumbing

Jeff of Goode Plumbing came out. Rodded out my tenant's toilet issue. Very thorough, checking for other concerns and giving me summary of his findings in addition to what may need to be done if the rodding didn't work. Thankfully it did. Jeff was pleasant and didn't mind waiting until my tenant arrived. I will use Goode Plumbing again.

Person arrived on schedule . . reviewed issues of water heater connections.. very knowledgeable was to provide me with a quote for just updating connections and then another quote with updating connections and a new water heatet. After a couple of weeks I received two quotes, one with a basic water heater and one with a venting waterheater. That was fine but I never got a quote for the basic upgrade of my connections without the purchase of a new water heater.

The problem consisted of a leaking pipe in the underground water meter pit. Unknown to me the pipe had been leaking for months and cost me hundreds of dollars on my water bill I called two companies that were recommended by the Village of Lincolnwood, both came in with proposals in the $2000. range. I called Goode Plumbing because they had good reviews on Angies List. They sent Develle Wilson, The estimate was $1200. I liked the price and the detailed explanation that Develle gave of the work that would be done, so I chose Goode. Develle dealt with the Village in getting a permit and an initial and final inspection. The work was completed in a half day. When the inspector requested a valve change, even thought he did not mention it at the first visit, Develle came out the next day and changed the valve.All of the work was done on a very cold day. Phone calls during the whole process, were returned promptly and Develle was neat and wore slippers when he came in the house. The cost of the project came in at $175 less than the estimate and a !0 % Angies List coupon was honored. Overall, I was pleased repair and the Develle's professionalism. I would here Goode again and would recommend them to others

The plumber arrived on time, was careful not to make a mess, was courteous, and understood the service to be performed. The main tub was cleared successfully. The second tub was not cleared and the work made the situation worse, so much so that neither the tub nor the vanity could be used. The plumber said all the pipes would need replacing (the house is ~100 years old). He gave a ball park of $2,000 (not an official estimate). I paid for one drain cleaning. Before the plumber left, he gave the impression I would be hearing from the company again to set up another visit with a different plumber with the proper skills to determine the cost of replacing the pipes. I didn't hear from the company for a few days, so I contacted different plumbing company. The second company was able to quickly clean the drain and restore service to both the tub and vanity. UPDATE: I really appreciated the owner following-up with me after I posted this review. I understand there are many uncertain or unknown qualities or conditions for this type of work. I agree the plumber was skilled. After hearing the plumbers explanation about using pressurized air, I didnt want to risk a leak either. I called the second company because I wanted another opinion. Luckily - and I'd bet it was just luck - the second plumber got me a temporary fix. I anticipate I'll have to make a permanent repair and replace the pipes. I will call GOODE when that time arrives for an estimate.

Goode plumbing was easy to reach by phone, arrived on time. The contractor was thorough in checking all the pipes. He found the broken section, was able to remove it and replace with PVC without much distress to the function of the main waste stack or really any mess.

The technician examined the ejector pump, saw that it was not working due to age and corrosion. He left to pick up the new pump and when he returned it was installed in one hour. Very efficient. and timely.

I have a two-bedroom condo, on the first floor, in University Village. I have experienced several episodes of flooding from three drains in my unit. I was considering major plumbing work to correct the problem. The plumber from Goode obviously had a lot of experience. He suggested that major plumbing work was not needed. He said that I should communicate with the folks that had units above me that they should be more careful about what they flushed down their toilets. In particular, they should be reminded that paper towels should never be put in a toilet because they don't break down as toilet paper does. Paper towels can cause a sewer blockage. The Goode Plumber also suggested that I install inexpensive valves in my drains that would prevent a backup of sewage into my unit but would allow the flow of water into the drain. I have followed this advice. The Goode plumber was able to quickly identify the problem and make sound suggestions about how to deal with the situation. I would certainly use Goode Plumbing in the future and would recommend them to friends.

This is our second experience with Goode. The first time they came out to fix our kitchen sink. The second time, we had a horrible smell coming from our basement stack. Ed Sell diagnosed the problem immediately. The cap was leaking and the concrete around the base had come loose creating the odor to escape. Ed's work is beyond professional, as well as his attitude. My kids loved seeing him again and his work speaks for itself. He rodded our line, replaced the cap, and reapplied hydraulic cement to the base of the stack. The odor is gone. I know other people complain about the price of Goode's services, however, I am a strong believer in you get what you pay for.

I was getting water in a first floor bath. I purchased a Big Deal for a plumbing evaluation for $25. The plumber arrived on time and looked everything over in the upstairs and downstairs bath. It was determined that there was likely a corroded drain pipe in the bath upstairs and that we would need to cut through the 1st floor bath ceiling to fix it. They gave me an estimate for $850 for the plumbing repair. This did not include patching the drywall and painting. They said I would need to get that done separately, but offered a referral for that work. I had the work done by a handymen that had done some work for me recently. I do not have the final cost yet, but expect that it will be around $600. I would have hired Goode to do the job if I had not known the handyman who could do it for less. They were very prompt and professional.

We found them on Angie's List. They are prompt and very professional. Their price was very good. My overall experience with them was excellent.

Construction dust caused the water heater to not work. Goode came out (within three days) to diagnose problem, clean equipment and get the heater to work again. We decided to replace the water heater due to age and number of service calls over its history. Goode gave us an estimate for replacement with more efficient, quieter water heater and removal of old heater. They even applied the previous repair costs to the replacement cost of the new heater. Very professional, using mats and covers to protect the hardwood floors and stairs during the whole process and installed proper drainage system which developer had never done originally. I would use Goode Plumbing again for all my plumbing needs.

The Goode team responded promptly to my request, provided a very reasonable estimate, and completed the job quickly. We have been very pleased with Goode's professionalism, responsiveness, and quality work. We will definitely use them for our plumbing needs in the future.

I called two plumbers on Friday and Goode responded that they would be able to come later in the day. Develle from Goode Plumbing arrived shortly after 4 PM and accessed the situation. He estimated the cost for doing the work and I felt it was reasonable, so I agreed to have the work done. He stated that he could still do it today or come back first thing tomorrow in the morning because it would take about 3 to 3.5 Hrs. I said that today was fine, Develle said he needed to go back to the office to collect some additional pipe and would start once he returned. The project required replacing 12 feet of pipe with copper piping, installing the new shower valve and then adding the new fixtures in the shower. Develle did a professional job, completing it within the estimated time period, testing the installed equipment to make sure it worked properly and left the areas he worked in just as he had found them. I would definitely use this company again, because they did what they said would be done and there were no extras after they started. I would ask for Develle because he does excellent work.

They are very professional and thorough in their work. Did not have to ask them to put on the 'shoe covers' for a change, which is great. Diagnosed the problems and gave detailed estimates in 'legible' writing. Was very impressed. Did the work on time without any hiccups. Very courteous and helpful. Even have a price list with all the prices listed out -- very convenient. The only challenge I see is the price -- more than double my expectation. I had to get it done today so not much of a choice

Prompt arrival when promised. Quick diagnosis of possible issues and sequential exploration of those issues. Clear explanations at all points. Finished work looks good, functions well. Work area clean and tidy afterwards. Not the cheapest that I have used--but far from the most expensive as well. Did have to wait several days for first visit, but it was not an emergency item and it was our first call to the company, so that was completely reasonable.

A toilet that has had problems in the past started overflowing and the water started running through the floor. Michael came within an hour and simply used a plunger and didn't charge us. We appreciate his punctuality and great customer service. We will definitely keep his number on speed dial and recommend him to our neighbors.

He is so professional! My appointment was at the end of the day, so of course his schedule was a little backed up, but he called me well in advance to notify me of this, and called when he was on his way -- which made my life a lot easier! He was very quick, efficient, friendly, clean, and saved me about $400 over what another plumber quoted me. I highly recommend Goode Plumbing!

When our hot water heater suddenly stopped working, the way they do, we looked on Angie's List, and called Goode Plumbing based on all the excellent reviews they'd received. They completely lived up to those high ratings. Everyone we dealt with, from the person answering phones to plumber, was exceptionally professional and service-minded. They repeatedly fit us in on short notice and tight schedules. The repair technician, Mr. Wilson, laid out different price options for us and gave great advice. He helped us get a great product and installation on our tight budget. We'll definitely call Goode anytime we need plumbing, and we recommend them wholeheartedly!

At first, I played phone tag with Goode for a few days, but when we finally connected they had someone out within the hour and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes of coming out.

Deville came and was professional, courteous, and efficient. He explained what need to be done, the time it would take and estimated cost. We had out of town company and he came in got the job done. Thanks Angie's List and Thank you Goode plumbing!

Everything went very well. Things are working great now. Will be using Goode again soon.

Develle came and he was polite, punctual, and spot on - and also discovered the prior inappropriate actions of other service providers who said they replaced something that they clearly did not. For first time in 6 months, the toilets in my home work properly!

I was able to get a quick appointment. The plumber came on time and did the work efficiently. He also discussed different things we need to do to keep the water heater working without problems. Very helpful and professional.

The whole process went very well.

It was a very pleasurable experience other that writing the check. That hurt.
