Response from Goode Plumbing
While I do agree with this Member that we are busy because we do a good job, I am sorry that we were unable to help her in this situation. We try to be very honest and as accurate as possible regarding our schedule. We do our best to fit everyone that we can in. However, unlike many companies, we do not rush our plumbers to get done with one job so they can get to the next one. Each job is taken individually. We try to estimate an approximate amount of time a job should take based on questions we ask on the initial phone call. However, it is truly impossible to know completely what a job is going to involve until we see it in person. Sometimes, rodding a drain may take more time-or less time, than is typical. Sometimes a customer may call us for one item, and ask us to take care of additional items once we get to a job. Whatever the case may be, the customer we are on must be taken care of so that the work is completed correctly. Many companies rush their plumbers, which can result in sloppy work or mistakes. That is not our policy. Because of our commitment to quality work and excellent service, we do not try to cram as many jobs as possible into a day. We fit as many as we think we can realistically complete with quality, and offer to call additional customers if we get done with a previously arranged job early enough to fit them in. The majority of clients who we offer this wait list to, and choose it, do actually get in the day they want. This Member opted not to be placed on our wait list. I would love to take every single call that came in. We are slowly growing so that we can. For our repeat clients, I do my very best to service them and have often worked very late to take care of customers in need (this past Sunday, I personally worked until nearly 3 am as two clients had water in their basements that evening). We do not want to ever promise a customer something that we do not know for certain can be delivered. This member needed a particular time slot, and the first FOR CERTAIN opening in that time slot was several days away. There is a good chance we could have fit her in before that,if we finished a previous job earlier than expected, but again, it was not for certain. I would rather be honest in telling her this, than promise her something that I could not deliver. I do agree that most plumbing issues cannot wait several days or a week, and we do our best to get those urgent calls handled quickly. I appreciate your consideration, and hope that we do get another chance to help you in the future. Thank you, Mike Goode.
