When I called in the morning, I was told there wasn't an opening in the schedule until the end of the week. I mentioned I was a previous customer and she said she would let me know if someone finished a job early in the next few days. That afternoon I received a call. Someone had finished a job early and could stop by that day. It was perfect. He took care of both showers in less than an hour. I consulted with him on a couple of other recurring issues and he gave me some advice. When we are ready for the next project we will definitely be calling Goode.

Had set up a appoinment later in the week, but due to a water leak on the old Rheem hot water tank, decided to ask Goode Plumbing if they would show up earlier in the week. Not only did Goode Plumbing show up earlier in the week, they also were able to install the new hot water tank the same day. The install was done professionally and was definitely better than the previous install I had done on the Rheem hot water tank in the 90's. Goode Plumbing also gives you a 2 yr warranty on labor and materials. Would definitely consider them on any future plumbing jobs that might come up.

I called about mid morning to get a an approximate quote and appointment. The person who answered was very nice and helpful and promised to return my call after speaking with a repairman. She did and explained what the repairman would have to do before giving me the quote. The inspection amount was quite reasonable. Bob came out asked me questions, investigated the problem by removing the spout and searched for problems under the tub through a wall opening. He told and showed me the area of the problem and gave me fair cost quote. He began the work and finished quickly, quietly, and professionally. In addition, he checked the powder bathroom and repaired the lift drain valve without extra charge. I will definitely use them again and ask for Bob.

Mike came on time. Was respectful of my home and my time. Did the agreed upon work and threw in the repair of a hole in a pipe without additional cost. On top of that, they are excellent plumbers who are patient, customer friendly, explanatory about what is going on and what they are doing, and display high integrity. They have done 3 jobs for me to date and they are who I will call with any plumbing related issues.

Well, they dug a big hole in the front lawn. Unfortunately the week they performed the service was the only time in 2012 that it rained that much - which somewhat hampered their ability to finish on time. But they soldiered through and finished installing the valve and bypass line. They replaced the dirt and the cement that was dug up. The valve performed as promised during the recent flooding rains in April. No water from the city sewer line! I believe that Mike Goode treated me fair and also honored the 10% off coupon from Angie's List. I would definitely recommend his company to anyone. He and his crew were prompt, courteous and cleaned up after themselves.

My water heater was leaking to the lower floor & at first they were not able to come out for a few days but they called back & came out same day. The service technician (Develle) was prompt & professional and took the time to explain everything to me as well as answer all my questions. I will definitely call them back for any plumbing work.

This past winter, a pipe burst in my garage and water was spraying out. I turned off the water from the basement and didn't think about it again until spring arrived and I wanted to water the lawn. One of my tenants was also having a problem with water flow in his kitchen sink faucet. I called Goode plumbing to schedule an appointment for someone to come out . Not a problem, Bob came and suggested moving the outdoor water spigot to the back of the house. It was currently across the yard in the back of the garage. He presented 3 scenarios...repairing the pipe that burst, putting in an entire new pipe which would entail breaking into the cement ground which they would repair or moving the location of the faucet. We opted for the third choice which was the most expensive but made the most sense for us. The house is over 100 years old and we thought the pipe running under the ground to the garage could have additional problems in the future. The sprayer attachment in the kitchen sink was causing the water flow to sporadically stop and then quick blast out. Bob suggested replacing it with a different style faucet with one handle that included it's own sprayer to avoid future backups. After we discussed and made our decisions, Bob came back one week later, on time (7:30 in the morning) and worked for about 6 hours to complete both jobs. I forgot to mention, when he first came to a**** the problems, I went to write him a check and he waived the consultation fee even though he was not even sure we would be using Goode plumbing. We will definitely use Goode plumbing again. They are a pleasure to do business with.

The person setting up appointments paid no attention to the information I begged to explain to the plumber BEFORE he came out. Two most important things were the TOTO toilet I have ( thats still broken) is unique and make sure they have an inspection scope. The toilet is not just plumbing, it's electrically heated, lid and seat open and close electrically flushes itself and has a built in bidet. I told her that and was told I need not worry ALL their plumbers are licensed and work on TOTO's all the time. Again I said electric controlled ones? Yes was the answer. First trip...no camera o.k. good news he was told to go buy one,so he did. Bad thing he had no idea how to use it. First thing he said when he looked at the TOTO toilet was " wow that's nice I've never seen one of these"! At this point the day is used up the next day he could come back was the next week. So he assures me his "boss" knows all about TOTO toilets so I'l ask him. Same guy comes back, cut's more drywall finds the leak and fixes it! Forgetting to bring an access panel to cover the first hole and makes a second larger cutout seemingly without a care. The reason I said to bring a inspection scope was because with it only a small holes need to be drilled until the problem is tracked down. With the problem area located you than cut enough drywall to effete the fix,do a ruff patch of the wall or install an access panel until proper repairs can be arranged. The help he got from "the boss" regarding the TOTO was a phone number to TOTO ! He did spend time on the phone testing things out. Regarding the flushing issue, I was told my family waste was "too dense" it gets better to fix the power lid issue it would need to be shipped to TOTO! I was offered to purchase a new top half of the toilet, so at least I'd have a spare. The guy that did the work was polite and tried to help but the company has real communication issues. If you have a simple leaky faucet or need a drain cleaned in a week or two these are your guys.

Extremely overpriced. The bathtub drain was routed out and they charged $285 this is with a 10% Angie's member discount. I have had these services done by other companies and have never paid over $100. I would never use this company again soley based on price.

Mike and Deville definitely know their stuff. Mike the owner started the demo of the old pit which entailed jackhammering the old clay pit. He installed the new fiberglass pit and connected the sump pump. Deville came the next day and finished the job. This entailed connecting the second pump which he placed a little higher in the pit and revising the existing sump pump discharge piping into the stack. Deville also patched the basement floor with concrete. Very professional company.

They were knowledgeable. But the quote was a bit high.

Deville called and was prompt, pleasant and professional. He had to make a run to a plumbing supply to adapt to my vintage pipes. Plumbing is a wonderfully creative trade. Everyones scenario is different. It takes skill and innovation of which this plumber clearly displayed. Not an easy job, but he not only reassured me that I will have access to my bath, but worked with dilligence, humor and experience!! He explained everything he was doing step by step and also changed out my toilet valve. He also added how all work is backed by a guarantee! Thanks Angie for allowing me to find "stand-up" companies like Goode Plumbing! Word to the wise: Deville is a keeper!

I was having issues of a small leak of water around the base of my sewer main and an odor around our improperly sealed pump pit so I found a Goode Plumbing' deal on Angie's list and e-mailed them to set up an appointment. Mike Goode was very responsive. For non-emergency calls they typically schedule during the business day and they were able to fit us in later that week on a day that worked for our schedule. I wish I could remember the guy's name that came out; he was great. Very prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. He quickly pinpointed the problem, explained the issue to me, and was able to do the repairs right away. There ended up being roots clogging the sewer line way out under the street (thank you City of Chicago). He gave me some prevention tips and also sealed and caulked my pump pit lid. Odor gone! The actual sewer line cleaning was on the higher end price wise, but their professionalism and work quality put me at ease. I didn't get the impression they were trying to upsell me or cut corners on the work. We would definitely use them again. I purchased the $25 deal on Angie's List which included a $25 evaluation call and a $60 credit for work done on-site. The total if I had not purchased the deal would have been closer to $360.

I called Goode Plumbing and they were over at my place in less than 2 hrs. I was very concerned as I had no clue where the drain line or anything was. The plummer who came over, Jeff, was in total control. With in no time he figured out what the problem was and after a few questions for me he knew how to fix the problem. With in an hour the problem was fixed. Jeff was incredibly professional and came through like no other. I was thoroughly impressed by how fast he fixed the problem. After fixing the problem and the clean up I had a chance to ask some questions which Jeff answered and put me at peace. I am VERY happy I called Goode Plumbing and would recommend them to anyone. I'm sure all their plummer's are awesome but Jeff is my go to guy now! LOVE THESE GUYS.

Everyone I dealt with was very professional and personable. I always felt like things were being handled well. The price was lower than other estimates, even excluding a 10% Angie's List discount. Everything is working great and the work was done for the estimated amount.

After repairs were complete the smell was still present, they came back out at no additional charge and resolved the matter.

Excellent, clean, quality work. Plumber arrived on time with necessary tools and completed the work in the time estimated.

We recently replaced our water service in Oak Park, and we used Goode Plumbing of Chicago. Put simply, they did a superb job. They explained on the outset what they were going to do, set commencement and completion times and dates, and installed the new service with high-quality components. The entire crew was knowledgeable, hard-working and unfailingly pleasant. As they were installing the water service, they discovered an issue with my sewer line and fixed it for a nominal amount. After the work was done, they cleaned the basement floor and walls and reseeded the portion of the lawn that was disturbed. All this work was done for a competitive price. Call them first!

Today was my third visit from Goode Plumbing in about 18 months and I have been more than satisfied with their professionalism and expertise. Each time (including today) Mike or a member of his team came to my home on the same day that I reported the problem to them. All three plumbers were completely professional while they were in my home. They explained the problems to me clearly and offered various solutions. They even offered to use boot covers before they came in! They used towels and mats to minimize any messes that resulted from the work they were doing. In short, they are great at what they do. I would definitely use their services again and would gladly recommend them to my friends, family, and neighbors. Thanks so much, Mike!

The lady who took the appointment by phone was very pleasant. The plumber, Ed, was on time, got to work immediately, explained what he was doing and was happy to share knowledge about plumbing, water pressure, and how things work, which was more interesting than I would have imagined. He protected the tile floor with a newspaper, put in the new parts and he cleaned it up when he was finished. He even wore protective gloves while working. Problem was solved; the toilet is not loose and the new wax seal and other parts will last a good long time. My only complaint (and I probably should have called him back) is that the toilet runs occasionally after flushing, which it didn't do before... When I lightly touch the handle, it stops, so it is likely just the flapper position, and had nothing to do with the original problem.

They were good guys. Very clean, very professional. Were very honest. Even put on little booties to keep it all neat. They were on time, and let us know ahead of time. Assessed the problem right away, and did a great job taking care of the problem on the spot.

This is the second time we have had Goode Plumbing come out for a service call and we will continue to use this company. Their staff is professional, knowledgeable and on-time. It can be a challenge finding trustworthy companies in Chicago, but this is one of them.
