The plumber sent by Goode, George Makropoulos, arrived in a professional manner, on time, and ready to work. No plumber's crack here! George asked me a few questions about the ejector pump, and I was fuzzy on the details to say the least. My husband and I thought it may still be under warranty. He said he didn't want to "step on any toes", so he waited patiently while I found the info on the old pump and contacted the last company. After a very long time, the lady on the other end of the line discovered it was actually out of warranty and much older than either of us thought. At that point he asked again what I would like to do, gave me an estimate of the cost of replacement, and I gave him the go ahead to replace the pump. While he was replacing the ejector pump, he found that the check valve was stuck open and also in need of replacement. He even took the time to draw a diagram to explain the function of the check valve before replacing it, just to make sure I knew to what I was agreeing. He showed me the new ejector pump before he installed it, pointing out certain things on it. He answered all my questions about the nature of ejector pumps, such as seasonal work loads (most ejector pumps are replaced in the spring!), which part tends to wear out the first, so on and so forth. I'm a theater electrician, so the fiddly tech bits were interesting to me. When he was done, I asked about an Angie's List coupon that my husband knew about. He asked if we had an account, which we do, but because it's in another member of the association's name I didn't know the login info. Long story short, he gave us the discount even though I wasn't able to print out the coupon. Now, I would have gladly recommended him and his company to anyone who needed a plumber already, but that was the icing on the cake! It's always a potentially awkward situation when someone comes to work on your house, but George was extremely friendly and non-intrusive, and even my normally shy toddler had warmed up to him by the time he was finished.

Mike was the only one out of several plumbers to recommend a solution to a problem with noise from a hot water heater that has been nagging me for over a year. When I finally made arrangements for him to fix it, he did so expertly and efficiently. He was a bit late for the appointment, but he is so busy because he is so good. I will definitely have him over next time I need plumbing help.

While with long hair I am pretty good about doing maintenance steps to avoid a clogged drain it happened and no amount of drain cleaner seemed to be helping. Called Goode Plumbing who had fixed an issue with a broken pipe for me last year to come out and take a look. The man who came to do the service call had it cleared in 20-30 min tops and cleaned up well after the job. No further problems with the drain (for now). Was able to use an Angie's List Big Deal as well so the cost of the service was really reasonable.

He was detailed and made sure I understood all of the issues with my sink. He explained that I also required piping that was up to code. I was unable to go forward with the repair at that time due to other urgent financial requirements, but I was very impressed with his expertise and demeanor. I would recommend to anyone.

After hearing some disturbing grinding noises from my basement bathroom, I started looking for a plumber on Angie's List that had some good reviews, which is why I called Goode Plumbing. Develle arrived on time, I gave him an overview of what I had been hearing, and he proceeded to evaluate the problem. He answered my many many questions (patiently, thank you) and presented several options to fix the problem. I then made an appointment to have the ejector pump replaced several weeks later. He again took his time and explained to me what was happening and how the new pump would work. I've found a "Good" plumber! Thanks again.

The woman on the phone was very professional when I called and immediately set up an appointment. Bob D. arrived punctually, fixed a few small things, and gave me an estimate for several other problems that would take more time and require ordering parts. When I made an appointment for the additional tasks, Bob arrived promptly again, and fixed everything to perfection. He is extremely professional and very careful in his work, including cleaning up afterward. He is also very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and give advice, and he is a very nice person. Plumbers are never cheap, but I thought the charges were entirely reasonable (in fact, less than I expected). I am very satisfied with the work and the whole experience. I have never encountered such a professional, careful, and efficient plumber. I will be using Goode (and Bob) again in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs. I can't imagine how it could be any better.

Came out and determined the problem. Went and got the parts. Came back and solved the problem the first time. But the solution was only a temporary fix. Problem reappeared and Goode came back and fixed it with the right problem but didn't charge additional costs since it wasn't fixed the first time. Very open and honest. We would use them again.

Mike was punctual and gave us a quote for our water-heater replacement in addition to our ejector and sump pumps. We wanted a more durable water-heater with better insulation (not the cheapest made.) He provided two water-heater options, in addition to some modifications to our plumbing connection to prevent corrosion from reoccurring, a water heater pan with leak detector, and valve replacements (home builder installed cheap water supply valves that leaked when closed.) Mike also did a checkup at our request of both the ejector and sump pumps and confirmed the need to replace our sump pump. We elected to replace the ejector pump as well due to its age and work convenience. Goode was not the lowest quote we received, but when compared to other quotes, he clearly was offering a more premium service with the additional modifications and better products. The other companies provided us generic and "bare-bones" quotes with the cheapest brand water-heaters. Goode also offers a labor warranty that matches the water-heater's and other companies just provided a one year labor warranty. I am a strong believer of having it "done right" and that you get what you pay for. On the day of service, Bob showed up right on schedule and was very professional. He seemed very experienced replacing the water-heater and both pumps and did exactly as Mike & I had discussed. The water heater looks and feels fantastic and even the plumbing around the sump and ejector pumps appear to be well installed. Bob cleaned up after his work and left no trace of old materials. All in all, a fine job and a very good value.

Since I was not prepared to have the work done when Mr. Goode came out, I am going to schedule it for a future date.

Finally, I called Goode after joining Angies list. The fixed both issues and we have never had another problem to day. Thank you for the reputable service.

We contacted Goode to provide a bid to install a new 50 gal water heater. Goode's scheduling staff was very professional. Bob arrived within an hour of our appointment time and seemed very nice. Unfortunately, Goode's bid was $200 more than L Blanton's "emergency" same-day proposal (which was my highest bid so far). Also, Goode charged $59.95 for the bid vs. everyone else's bids...which were free. The seem like a very nice company...but their prices forced me to go with a competitor.

I contacted Goode for an estimate on the required annual maintenance of my flood control system. First, the estimate was almost $200 more than any other estimate. Secondly, they charged me $60 to provide the estimate, which was NOT explained when I booked the appointment. FYI: The other two plumbers who provided an estimate charged nothing. Finally, they did not return my front yard to its prior state. They shoveled aroung the sewer cap and did not retunr the dirt before leaving. The others did. Needless to say, I have another plumber coming tomorrow to provide the service. Goode has a nice racket going.

I inquired online with a brief description of my issue. A woman from this company called me pretty quickly, saying she was calling me back (I never called them), didn't know why she was calling (didn't read my inquiry), and was probably the rudest person I have had the displeasure of speaking to.This is said after a 30 second conversation. Here I am looking for repairs, and I need to deal with that ...? I don't think so. So I hung up the phone. Other plumbers called me after an identical inquiry and provided rough estimates.

Mike replaced a portion of our copper pipes and repaired damaged elbow flues caused the winter cold stress. He also installed insulation on the copper pipes. He also flushed our water tank. He cleaned up after himself.

Overall the service was pretty good. There were additional charges for this service because the plumber found an additional item needing repairs. Mike was very thorough, considering there was a substantial amount of trouble-shooting before the additional repair could be performed. I will use them again in the future.

These guys are the best!! Bob is a very honest professional plumber. There is no hard sell with him or the company. They resolve the issue at hand and are fast and efficient. Bob unclogged my drain in under 10 minutes (My drain had been clogged for 10 days, with one plumbing company coming out for 4 hours and not completing a task that had nothing to do with my kitchen sink). He also checked the catch basin. I was also given tips on how to keep the drain free from clogs in the future. Excellent!!! Saul

Michael was on time. Quickly assessed the needs, went to get the parts, came back and worked until 6:00 or 6:30 to finish everything. All work was done neatly and properly, No Comebacks. He cleaned up each work area thoroughly. A class job!

Develle did a great job. He was very personable, outgoing and was really easy to work with. He came out 2 different times. One time to get the basic plumbing done and the second time when the bathtub and kitchen cabinets were in place, which was 3 weeks later. I thought that the price was really high, but then I don't know the first thing about plumbing except how to use it on the consumer end. I certainly hadn't budgeted $2500 for the work to be done. One rate was quoted, but he came out to finish the job, there was an additional fee of $675 that for some reason wasn't included in the job the first time. I know that I live in a high-rise and have to pay accordingly, but that seemed really high. Bottom line is that I would still recommend Develle and would use him again. He had another person work with him the first day that he came and he did a good job but was the silent type. No idea what his name was.

It went well and I was very pleased.

They arrived slightly ahead of the appointment. Very polite, professional and clean. He was also good about explaining what he was doing and checked so that next time I can resolve myself.

They had a single price, they didn't change it as they went along. The price was very reasonable, and they did exactly what they said they would do. They were friendly and knowledgable. They don't just do drain cleaning, they also do a variety of plumbing issues. They can also replace faucets, handles, and any other equipment in a vintage fashion that matches one's bathroom.

Appointment went really well. Service was excellent and informative.

We had an issue with our garbage disposal. The seal around the drain was loose, and it was leaking into the cabinet below. It also smelled bad, as if food were getting stuck there. Additionally, whenever we did run the disposal it would cough up the leftover food in the adjacent non-disposal drain. It wasn't a great situation and we constantly had water underneath the sink, with risk of mold and such. Goode took a few days to get here - they didn't have an open appointment until Friday of this week, but they called today (THursday) and said they had a free technician. It took him a while to get here, but given the weather and rain, that's completely understandable. He immediately explained what was happening - the trap for the disposal and other sink was the same, causing the common back up - and the seal on the disposal was falling off. He gave me two options : a) fix the seal on the disposal and get things working in the short term or b) replace the disposal. I live in a rented apartment, so there's some hesitation about paying for this without chatting with my landlord, but he gave me some time to go over it. He also added that the disposal and sink sharing a trap was a problem and he could fix it so each has its own trap, meaning that I could run one while the other was under repair, etc. i decided on the disposal because it seemed the existing disposal was old and falling apart, and I was wary of the link between disposal and sink. He gave me an estimate (598 plus tax), but since I'd used Angie's list he said I should use the 10% off coupon. He voluntarily did that, and I really appreciate the honesty and helpfulness there. It took him a couple hours to get done, and in the process he replaced the u-pipe on the non-disposal sink (not charged for / included in the disposal replacement) he brought up a top of the line disposal, and re-routed the disposal to the other trap. He also removed the aerator attached to the dishwasher, which was causing the terrible smell. Once he removed it, it was way, way better. Additionally, there's no leaking now and the disposal functions properly. This was a great experience and I appreciate their help.
