If you are going to install new water heaters in your house. Use Goode Plumbing, they are good people ! I had contacted several firms, some from the HVAC industry & some from the plumbing industry. Both can install water heaters, but the plumbers seem to know more about them. This company installs only Bradford-White (US made) water heaters which I believe are the best. They were the only ones that matched the 6 year tank warranty with a 6 year labor warranty. Most others, would only give me 1 maybe 2 years on labor. Price was in the same ball park for all the companies I contacted on Angie?s list. Typically if an item breaks, it is the labor not the part that ends up costing you money. I just learned that on my sub-zero refrigerator. Mike, the owner, called after the install (done by Devel?s team), to make sure I was happy. Mike, the office manager, also followed up to also make sure everything went fine. One of the things they suggested & that they did for me from my original set of water heaters is put shutoff valves in tandem; so that if 1 water heater goes, I still have the ability to use the other. The original tandem was not set up this way & puzzles me why you would have 2 water heaters & not set up a system that would have allowed for this. Bottom line is that I will use this company for other plumbing needs in the future besides the water heater maintenance. Honest People !!

I had used Goode Plumbing to replace the faucet in my kitchen in the fall of 2014, and it was a great experience. This past fall our garbage disposal stopped work, and I procrastinated for several weeks and then called Goode Plumbing. They were able to arrange for someone to come at the time I was available. When the serviceman arrived, the garbage disposal was magically working. The serviceman still checked out everything to make sure it was not a fluke and then did not charge us. I will be a customer for life!

I had attempted to remove a Moen shower valve that had been in place for 45 years. When the stem was removed the cartridge sleeve remained in place. I couldn't proceed and I couldn't turn on the water. I left an email text message (via Angie's list) that (Sunday) evening and hoped that I could arrange something for the next day. The owner (Mike Goody) responded by email around 7:30 the next morning and I was speaking to Kerri, at the office, by 8:15. She said that all the technicians were booked but that the manager, Mike Davis, might be able to come out - in a few minutes she called back and confirmed that Mike would be there shortly. Mike was at my house around 9:00 and looked over the situation. He advised that he hoped he could get the sleeve out and, with completion of the install with my parts, the cost would be $325 ($250 for the service call and sleeve removal and $75 to complete the job). However, he also warned that sometimes the sleeves are so corroded that they can't be removed, or removed only by damaging the housing- in that case the price would be between $800 and $900 to install a new unit. I gave him the go ahead and worked for nearly an hour using a torch and several types of extractors trying to get the sleeve out. After a lot of hard work and great ingenuity, he was able to get the sleeve out and complete the job for $325. Mike Davis was a great guy and consummate professional, and the company's efforts in responding so quickly were extraordinary. I highly recommend them!

I notice a the smell of gas in a cabinet. I called Peoples Gas who confirmed that there was a leak in a gas line behind the drywall. They shut off my gas. I called Good Plumbing from your list and they had a technician at my house about 1 hour later. He had to cut out some of the drywall to find the pipe and the leak. In about 2 hours the problem was fixed. I called Peoples Gas, who returned to turn the gas on. Terri, the person on the office and Reggie, the technician were great.

I noticed a leak from second floor to the first floor bathroom. I contacted them yesterday, 12/7, via Angie's List and they responded promptly. I gave them a call to schedule an appointment, and I had one scheduled today, 12/8. Bob gave me a call to say he could be here earlier than the 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. window I was given, but I was still at work at that point, so said 2 p.m. would be great. He came a little after 2 p.m. and was friendly and professional all the way. I showed and talked him through the problem, and he looked around, including at the basement to make sure the leak wasn't down there, too. He determined that the likely source of the leak was not bad plumbing but a leak around a frameless shower door. He was good about sticking to his area of expertise, only giving me his guesses when I asked for it, and asked him to send me some recommendations on whom to proceed with. While it stinks paying for a service call for something I should have figured out myself (hence the N/A rating for price), I'd likely give them a call again should I have an actual plumbing issue based on my experience with Bob (knock on water-softened wood that I don't).

We called Goode on a Saturday to get a date for a plumber to come out to look at a leaky pipe in our second floor bathroom. I reached out to what I assume was their call center or office administrator and was told the plumber out that day would give me a call in a 10-15 mins to obtain more details and schedule a time. I received a call the following Monday saying they were too busy to service us and gave another plumber to use but by this time we already had another scheduled. Very unprofessional, wish I could actually rate their service but they were unresponsive and "too busy" to even schedule a time.

Brian did an excellent job of installing a new Sloan-valve toilet in my highrise condo.

I purchased a Deal. Inspection was performed by Joe. He was friendly and professional. He emailed me with additional recommendations for future work.

I am extremely satisfied with the service I received from Goode Plumbing. The installation was flawless! They were courteous and respectful. They cleaned up everything before they left, including scrubbing a bit of the floor. They took the time to explain my systems to me and to show me how it all works. I went from an noisy and wrong sized ejector pump to one that I can only hear when I am intentionally listening for the swoosh of water. I was also coached on how to run my backup sump pump and battery on occasion to keep them in good operating condition. I sincerely and whole heartily recommend Goode Plumbing, and will most definitely use for any future plumbing needs. 12/14/2015 -- Update: Goode Plumbing stands behind their work! I noticed water around the sump pump. This caused us some concern because we had just re-carpeted the basement. Goode Plumbing RESPONSIVE. I called today and Mike stopped by TODAY! He let me know that my sump pump was "spraying" water through the discharge hole in the sump pump. Mike turned the pipe around so that water shoots in a different direction. He spent some extra time explaining my system to me again, especially the differences between by regular and backup pump. He did all of this at no charge, TREMENDOUS! Goode Plumbing has earned a loyal customer and Goode will be my goto place for all my plumbing needs! THANK YOU Mike!

It went fine. The plumber was very nice. He spent a lot of time going around the house. The problem with this "inspection" is that it's totally superficial. The plumber turns your sinks and showers and such on. Tells you that the water gets hot, that the handles aren't or are leaking, that the drain is or isn't leaking. Flushes your toilets. Tells you how old your water heater is... and that's it. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely ZERO value in being told if your sinks leak. One can see this for free. I have a spigot in my back yard that, when you turn the nob, it doesn't turn on. I asked the plumber, during the inspection, what his thoughts were on this. He said (and I quote), "How could I know? I'd have to know where this pipe goes". I thought that this was a joke, but it wasn't. What did I learn from my inspection: that none of my sinks leak. My toilets flush. My back yard spigot doesn't work. So, nothing. I learned nothing. But, hey, he was on time and nice to me.

UPDATE: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Bob and Mike were so patient with the install of the new water tank, but they got it DONE!!! We were pleased with the overall turnout of the install and the ultimate result of nice HOT water flowing in our sinks and showers. We're so blessed to have Goode Plumbing as our Go-To source. Our next project will be the catch basin in the Spring :) Words will never capture the true appreciate we feel for Mike and his team. Thank you for everything :) _____________________ Our relationship with Mike and Goode Plumbing began February 2014. Since this time, Goode Plumbing has been our Go-To source for our plumbing needs. Last week we reached out to Goode because we heard a "snapping" sound each time we turn on the water and a weird roaring sound when we turn on the shower. As usual, we received a prompt callback from Mike then a follow-up from Carrie to schedule our appointment. Carrie also provided a helpful tip during her call. She's awesome! Bob stopped by to check out our problem. He was prompt, courteous and personable, much like the other Goode team members that have performed services for us. Bob provided a detailed quote outlining the services and the brand of the water tank. Honestly, my mom and I were overwhelmed by the price. Bob shared that Goode Plumbing tends to be higher, but the services are warranted for the same length of time as the tank - something Mike had shared during my initial call. Bob, made some other suggestions if we chose not to go with Goode for the tank, as he understood our budget concerns. Bottom line, we need to replace the tank, but have at least a couple of months before we need to worry:) After Bob's visit, my mom and I further discussed the matter and we are going with Goode Plumbing to replace and install the tank. The factors we considered were: 1 - The work described is more than what a typical retailer would perform 2 - Bob made other tank recommendations if we chose not to go with Goode 3 - Bob described the difference between the tank Goode recommends and that of regular tanks from retail stores I realize this is a long review just for a quote, but I want to share this experience because Goode Plumbing has NEVER tried to take advantage us. Since the death of my dad in 2009, my mom and I now the ones responsible for making decisions about repairs and upgrades on our home. Often times, contractors have tried to take advantage of us so we're leery about whom we do business. Since our initial interaction with Mike, we've been extremely satisfied with his work and the work of his team. We trust Goode Plumbing and highly recommend them for servicing your home! This review is late. I can only say great things about Mike and Goode plumbing. I have used them in the past with great satisfaction and they were first company that I called when I was experiencing issues with the water heater. When the water heater was replaced - the wrong type was put in by one of the technicians (as it was also needed for the radiant heat). After I related to Mike that the water was not heating properly with new system, he responded immediately and sent a NEW crew out to check the issues. George was part of the new crew and he was fantastic. After several tries he diagnosed that the wrong type of water heater was installed and the radiant heating system needs to better routed. They had to order a special type of water heater and the company was out of stock and thus the company had to build one for our specifications. Thru out the process Mike was very understanding and compassionate. He wanted to make things right and wanted to make insure that I was happy. Mike worked with me on the additional costs for the heater, fixing the radiant heating, etc. Needless to say, he was very generous and I will be forever grateful to him. George came over on the weekends or late evenings to suit my schedule and spent days and hours to fix everything correctly. It took a few months to get everything working in order but I was never worried as Mike has always treated me fairly and honestly. George did a fantastic job and everything is working perfectly. Many thank again Mike and George. You really care about your customers and I wish other companies had your attitude and fortitude . Mike and Goode plumbing will be first company that I will call for any plumbing issues. I have also notified my neighbors and friends that Goode plumbing is the place to go. I give Goode Plumbing the highest of recommendations.

We had a huge water bill recently and I had the City of Chicago Water Dept. come out to take a look to find out why. He said the water level in the toilet in our basement was too high and could be contributing to the problem. Then the toilet on the main floor starting running too long after flushing. Brian diagnosed the problem, went to get new parts and then installed them. We had also hoped to get our Kohler toilet upstairs adjusted, so that there would be more water in the bowl, but he was unable to fix that issue. He was quick and efficient. Only issue was the price. After he left to get parts, I did some online searching and found a site where people list what their plumbing costs were for specific jobs. One woman, in San Antonio, had the same work done and thought the $375 she was charged was too high. Oh well, we are in Chicago. Originally, Brian was going to charge me $500, but I checked Angie's List and saw that Goode was offering a 10% discount to Angie's List Members. Thank you, ALM, for saving me $50!

Noise issue was resolved in the basement. They were unable to screw in the shower knob the way it was before the plumber had worked on it the last time. Before that we had no issues whatsoever with the knob unscrewing. This time we were told that the knob only has one screw. The strange thing is that we never had the problem with the knob in the two years before they had to replace the temperature control. Finally, we had the toilet in the basement checked and were told that it was fine, there's no point to put an augur through. It was nice for the plumber to try to save us money, but now we have a toilet that keeps clogging and we should have just had the water clogging situation taken care of. Now we have to call another plumber

Fantastic start to finish. The job was done and we didn't have a speck of cleanup afterward.

The inspection went well. Bob from Goode, was the ultimate professional. He left us with a detail diagnosis/solution of service rendered. He was polite, efficient and timely. His patience was much appreciated on this job. We will definitely use Goode again.

The plumber that came was professional and honest. However, he did not have the tools to discover the leak and the inspection performed was pretty basic. I had already checked the toilets and saw that they were not the source of the leak and that was the majority of his search. The thing I am a bit disappointed about is that I retained this contractor specifically for the purpose of discovering the leak and the inspection was not especially cheap. If I was told that this was not the specialty of this contractor I would have called someone else.

I'm so glad they came out. I have an ejector system in my basement and when I bought the house I was told the outside drains also used the ejector (and not a sump pump). With all the rains, I was getting nervous that my system would need to be updated and a backup put in. After looking at the system and testing the outside drains, I was told that they didn't actually go into my ejector pit, but drained directly to the sewer. The reason I don't have a sump is that one isn't necessary for my setup. I'm glad Goode plumbing figured it out (and saved me thousands on a new setup). I appreciate the attention to detail and listenting to my concerns and making sure the details were understood before making a recommendation.

It went well. The two men were courteous, friendly, prompt, and professional. Kerri on the phone was helpful. Great experience.

Goode Plumbing called to ask if their guy could come earlier than scheduled. An emphatic yes! Tony arrived about 30 minutes later, was absolutely professional, informative, approachable, and helpful. He fixed a leak from our tub, showed me the problem, suggested several solutions ranging in cost, and recommended some services to have in the future. He fixed a few things that I'd done myself and repaired some work that a previous plumber had done. I would absolutely hire Goode (and Tony!) again. And given that we have an old house, we should probably keep their number on speed dial.

Very happy with the service and responsiveness. I had a leak last night and realized my shut off valves were bad. I called Kerri this morning first thing and she was able to fit me into the schedule. I found Goode Plumbing after reading numerous positive reviews and a lot of those reviews were near my location (West Loop, Chicago). Develle came to fix my problems. I highly recommend Develle...he took his time explaining the issues and recommendations. We discussed the price up front and all the costs were fixed so he was not motivated to rush through the job and instead focused on great service. Develle then spent a couple of hours at various hardware stores trying to locate the correct parts and completed the job very efficiently. Cannot say enough good things!
