This went poorly. 1st. Time out, they said I needed new stems and it would cost $450. Seemed super expensive but i went ahead. Technician had problems getting one of the handles off. He said he would need to scratch it up to get it off. Therefore, he would need to come back with the stems and that part. He ended up taking the other handle off. (Why didn't he take the handle off that was stuck? He already told me he was going to damage it and I approved) 2 weeks pass and I call them. Stems are in but beauty piece is on back order. 4 weeks after initial visit they come back. 2nd visit: THEY BROUGHT THE WRONG BEAUTY PIECE! Then when it came time to remove the stuck handle, they had to get out a grinder and grind it off. In the process they cut up another piece, which they didn't have with them and would have to come back AGAIN! They called a few days later saying they would charge $370 for the new parts and $350 for labor. In the meantime I went and bought the ENTIRE faucet assembly from a distributor for $180 (brand new, faucet, drain, stems, everything). In the end I paid $250 for the 2 visits and the service provided was that they removed my faucet handles.

After reading this review, I was a bit taken aback by it because in my opinion, the description here does not reflect the complete story, nor the conversations both in person and through email that this Member and our manager had. We originally went out to repair this faucet, which was going to require a rebuild including dedicated parts. In [Member Information Removed] to obtain the correct parts, we would need to remove the old ones and bring them to a supplier and dealer of this brand to match new parts up to, and come back to the home install them. The original installer did not use proper lubricants to install the trim and handles, so they were seized to the cartridges and faucet bodies. We had to use a lot of force to get them apart, as well as a grinder. This was not a quick job, and would require more than one visit, so the $450 price was indeed quite reasonable. My plumber got the parts off of one faucet to match up and ordered the items. The cartridges came in and we waited for the handles to arrive. We attempted to disassemble the second faucet, and again, because the original installer did not use proper procedures during the original installation, we had to use tools and force that should not be required for this type of work. As careful as we were, one of the trim pieces was seized so tightly, that damage was caused to one of the faucet bodies. It did indeed also turn out that the escutcheonsthat the supplier sent us were incorrect. We offered a discount for the inconvenience, which the member expressed gratitude for, and we informed him that we really needed to replace the complete faucet. We researched the faucet and found that one of our suppliers was able to get one, and sent over an email to the member with pricing. He replied that he found one on Amazon for much less. We have personally had mixed luck when ordering items on line-sometimes everything is great, and other times they have sent items with missing or defective parts. Not too long ago, we ordered a water heater to try to save a client some money from the same website he found the faucet on, and the model they sent was a lower quality model than what was advertised. We [Member Information Removed] from local suppliers so that if there is ever an issue, we can deal with it face to face to get things done as quickly as possible for our clients. If there is an issue with something that we have supplied, we take care of it. We find issues to be quite rare when ordering locally. However, if a client wants to purchase something on their own and have us install it, that is an option-but there is no warranty on those items, unlike items that we supply as well as install. The member replied that he was going to [Member Information Removed] the item on his own, and that a friend of his would install it. Remember, we had already done the hard upfront work of removing the items and researching the model number and other information required for obtaining a replacement. We asked the client if we could send him some money back, as a courtesy, since he had given us a total of $225.00 to date as a deposit to [Member Information Removed] the other parts. He said he appreciated the offer, but said that he felt it was fair that we kept what he had paid us to date since we had several hours into removing the faucet and gathering information. He went on to write-in an email that we still have-how he appreciated our work so far and our keeping him abreast. He said not many companies would have done that so he was very appreciative and would use us in the future. I agree, that things did not go as smoothly as we all would have liked, but when things are not done properly to begin with, this can happen. But even after all of that, the member expressed that he was satisfied. Please folks-we really make a huge effort to deliver on customer satisfaction. We WANT you to be happy! When we ask if we can do anything, please TELL us. When we offer to send money back, please do not write us a very nice email telling us that you felt you were charged fairly, and then go online and complain about the cost. Telling us you are very happy, and then writing a review reflecting the opposite, does not help anyone. Again, we want you to be happy with our service, so if you were not, please let us know so we can make it right or do our best to improve a given situation. We apologize for any inconvenience this member experienced, be it on our part or otherwise.

Mike showed up earlier than scheduled but courtesy called me to make sure it was ok. Mike is professional, checked the sump pump and inspected other plumbing work, provided his feedback regarding the pump and suggestions for a battery back up system. He took his time, did not rush and was very easy to speak with. I will definitely call Goode Plumbing for future plumbing and related work in my home.

Great! We've called on them on four occasions now, and every experience has been stellar. The first and biggest job was when we had an old water heater that needed replacing, and these guys couldn't have been nicer. They explained everything very clearly along the way and were super professional. We've also called them to replace a toilet, and then twice to fix leaky pipes and again, we had great service. They have deals with certain manufacturers and will break down the costs for you if you order through them vs. purchase separately and just have them install it. Also, if it is something they think you can do yourself, they'll give you that option and advise you how to do it, which I think is wonderful (for example, our upstairs shower was leaking, and he identified the likely problem and just told us what to get and what to do to recaulk it ourselves). Shout-out by name to Jameson, who was our plumber for three of the four calls (I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the other plumber - he was good too, I just don't remember his name). Highly recommended!

We left a poor review earlier, which we would like to rectify since the plumber went above and beyond for the next visit. He made good on his promise. And we are glad that we gave them another chance. Our leak was fixed. It was very hard to determine where the leak was coming from and the plumber had to be here for a while to figure out its source. And he also fixed the handle on the shower, which his associate was not able to do. So our lesson was that if you have a complicated shower with multiple water sources and knobs, you have to ask for the owner Mike Goode to fix it rather than one of his employees.
Description of Work: I'm not sure of the exact cost. But it was generous considering how long the plumber was here. Identified the cause of a leak on floor beneath in the kitchen. Appeared to be coming from the drain for sink, actually was toilet Replaced a seal on a toilet that was causing a leak Replaced a broken screw in a shower handle (handle was turning indefinitely until it fell off)

We initially had a tub from an upstairs bathroom flood our kitchen. Brian came in drew a diagram of the issue and quickly repaired it. We have had Goode and Brian out a few times since the initial issue. Since the initial issue, Goode has been our go to plumber and we will continue to rely on them for our plumbing needs. I highly recommend Goode.

Could not have been happier with the work and this company!
Description of Work: They installed an overhead sewer. I originally started talking with them in March about doing drain tiles in a finished basement. I had starting quoting the drain tile job back in the fall, but due to cost and time of the year decided to wait. I had gotten at least 3 other quotes then and was working on updating them. In March some friends told me they had Goode do drain tiles and were very happy with the work. So I called them and Brian came out to quote drain tiles but suggested we scope the drain and sewer before we start, since we live the Chicago and were having seepage issues. Their price was inline with the others and Brian brought up several points no on else had, including the scope, so we chose them for the job. The scope showed that the sewer was the original clay pipe laid when the house was built 135 years age. It had tree roots and was probably leaking. Based on this he suggested we do an overhead sewer instead because it would solve more problems and not destroy our house. I had asked them to start the job on May 16, they planned it into their schedule and said they would allocate 2 weeks to complete. They showed up promptly on the 16th and completed it in 9 days. Brian and Donny were here everyday as scheduled, they walked us through every process. Gave us an update every evening before they left. They cleaned up every day. I cannot say enough good things about them. Just another good thing, I did question doing an overhead sewer, since no one else had suggested it. I asked that Mike the owner review it, so he came out with Brian and answered all our questions and concerns.

Katie, the receptionist was empathetic and very professional about the plumbing issue. She was able to schedule an appointment for me the day after I called. She called me the morning of the scheduled visit and asked if I was available for someone to come on site earlier which was fantastic for my schedule. Brian, the plumber, it was very thorough when diagnosing the problem. He walked me through every step as he went. He was very efficient, thorough, pleasant and professional. I would without question use GOODE plumbing again.

When they arrived at the property and took a look, they changed the price to $650. I still have to pay for the service call. This is not a good way to conduct business, and I will never seek services from Goode again. I will not proceed with the disposal removal because of their business practices. I didn't believe their argument that this is a very complex procedure, especially given that I had a much lower quote from my usual plumbers, who are pricey themselves.
Description of Work: I wanted an old kitchen sink disposal removed. I had a $500 quote from my usual plumber who has been maintaining that disposal for years. When I called Goode, they said the removal would cost $300 to $400.

Member, you also left a similar message on Yelp, which I also replied to. Our policy is to not give over the phone pricing. The reason that we do not give over the phone pricing is that we like to be accurate, and there is just too much room for error when it comes to pricing work without seeing it. My manager spoke with you, and did try to give you a ballpark price, since you really wanted it (shame on us for not sticking to our policy, which we have in place for good reason-for accuracy for our valued clients). You described a very easy job of removing a disposal and replacing a basket strainer. My manager told you that as long as the work was as described, the price would be approximately $300-400. Upon arrival, my plumber saw that in order to do the work CORRECTLY and up to CODE, there was considerably more work than what had been described. There were multiple issues with the other parts of the drain work that were there, making it a much more involved job. Could it have been rigged together as it was? Perhaps, but not by us-we do not do substandard work. I do not want my name on poorly done work. Since your tenant let us in, and you were not on site, we called you to let you know that there were other issues that needed to be corrected related to the requested work, and tried to explain what was needed and the price-as soon as you heard the cost, you told my plumber that the conversation was over and hung up. I do understand that some folks want a low price alone, and do not care about doing things properly, but that is just not how we work. We do things so they last and meet code-so that you do not have other issues down the road, or have health issues that can occur if things are done improperly. In this case, one of the issues was a dishwasher drain line that was improperly routed so it ran along the bottom of the cabinets and connected to the drain work improperly. If there was a back up in the drain line, it could easily flow back into the dishwasher, contaminating otherwise clean dishes. Part of our recommendation was to reroute this line, which involved drilling through multiple cabinets (since the dishwasher was not located next to the sink). I do not know what your other plumber was including-you said he or she has been maintaining the disposal for years, so my assumption would be that he or she was not intending on correcting the other related issues such as this, so the price comparison you mentioned is not really "apples to apples". I am sorry that you were unhappy with us, but I do not feel it is very fair to rate us less than great simply because we wanted to do a job correctly. I hope that you do get the job done correctly, so that you and your tenants have a safe, proper installation.

We were running out of hot water in our seven year old hot water heater so we called Goode. We booked a Sat and Reggie came out and checked it out. He gave us several suggestions and we decided just to get a new one since it was nearing the end of its life span. He came back two weeks later and installed a new one. He was exactly on time both times and was very conscientious about cleaning up and not making a mess even though he had to go in and out of he house many times. Overall we were happy with the work done and their follow thru to make sure everything was done correctly. Reggie did a great job. We would hire Goode again.

I spoke with 3 different people at Goode Plumbing and everyone was very nice and professional. Additionally, they called my tenant a few days after the hot water heater was replaced to make sure it was working fine and there were no other issues. We've used a few different area plumbers when we needed work done in the building but Goode will be my go-to from now on. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: There was a leaking hot water heater in one of my units on a Sunday. They responded quickly and went to the premises that day (for an additional fee which is fine for a Sunday), assessed the situation and recommended replacing the hot water heater. They were able to come the next morning to do that. Me and my tenants were all very satisfied by the work they did.

Reggie, great guy, big smile. Came in and in about 30 minutes had the problem solved. Showed me the piece and explained what happened. Had to improvise by taking plastic piece off the old cartridge (which saved time and money) and popped it on. Leak fixed!

I had used Goode last summer for a shower repair and had a great experience so I didn't hesitate to call them again. The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful, asked questions regarding the diy repair I had already done, and he was able to pinpoint the issue I was having quickly. I was scheduled for the next morning, which was terrific. Andrew was on time and in a polite and friendly mood even though he had to deal with the horrific lack of parking in my neighborhood. Without my having to ask, he put on new shoe covers before entering my condo to protect my just cleaned carpets. He fixed the water leak quickly and without any issues. Andrew was really fantastic and I will definitely call Goode again for any plumbing needs I have.

Everything about Goode is great! Brian was our plumber and came with a skilled assistant. Although the they found that the previous owner's bathroom renovation was filled with plumbing mistakes (incorrectly sloped pipe under toilet, toilet off-center and poorly sealed at base, shower drain installed incorrectly, etc.) he fixed what he could and showed me everything. Brian was extremely professional and listened to me explain the situation and then offered a number of reasons why we were hearing gurgling. He then drew me diagrams to explain the issue once he inspected. Both were courteous, knowledgeable and skilled. Goode will be the first plumber I call next time.

I had scheduled the appointment between 2-5 PM today, but got a call from Jose of Goode Plumbing and asked if we had time now. This worked perfect for us so he came by at around 10:30 am,. Jose inspected the water heater and answered all of my question about the problems we had in the past. The water heater was over 12 years old and the pilot what just not responsive. We both decided it would be best for a new water heater (TBH, I hated my current heater as it never worked very well). We agreed on a price and he started working immediately. I thought the price was very fair as he also had to undo the bad plumbing job of the last installer. There was no shutoff value to the water heater, dissimilar metals of the pipes where not probably connected, etc Jose honored my Angie's coupon even though I could not print it out. My printer has worked for months now. I fielt that Jose was very professional and answered all of my questions. He also treated me and my home with respect and did a great job of clean up after the work was done. Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work. The piping leading to the water heater looks like a piece of art now oppose to looking like a piece of ... .well you know ;) Will recommend!

Serviceman was friendly and informative and got the job done. Pulled a fast one on me with the pricing, as I didn't know better. Tried to sell me on a fill valve and flapper replacement for over $200 which just seems ridiculous now that I've done some research. Probably should've just sent him packing after getting some pricing but I likely would've been charged some ridiculous service call fee. Ironically, he touted his company's low margins and costs and great customer service.

In all honesty, the price that we gave you was very fair for the work involved. We never try to "pull a fast one"-we give you our pricing up front so there are no surprises. We do not use low quality parts. Ours cost more that what you might find at a "big box" store, sure, but they last longer and are covered by a much better warranty. I will never tell anyone that having a professional plumber perform work in their home, business, etc, is going to be inexpensive. The cost of running a legitimate, licensed, insured, professional business with professional employees, etc, simply does not allow for a cheap operation. We wish it did! However, I can promise you a fantastic value-given the work, parts quality, warranty, etc, I know that we stack up well against our competitors. If you are surprised at a cost, I ask that you, before rating us an F, compare us to our competitors. I know you will find our work and service second to none and our pricing very favorable. Again, we appreciate the work, and hope that you will continue to use us!

From the time I e-mailed Goode Plumbing to the final plumbing technician visit, they were extremely responsive, professional and efficient with the service they provide. I already have and plan to continue to recommend their service to my friends and family. When I contacted Goode, Kerri responded within minutes of my e-mail and set me up with a service call when I was available the following day. Plumbers Develle and Andrew replaced the wax ring on my toilet, cleared a clog in my sink, replaced the trap my kitchen sink and was able to remove the corroded bolts on my Kohler toilet. I could not have been happier with the service he provided, especially with the replacement toilet seat (I had been previously told by a hard wear supplier that I would need to but a while new toilet). As I live in a condo building that is almost 40 years plumbing can be difficult and time consuming. Everyone I worked with at Goode was extremely professional and prompt with all the services I needed. I would not hesitant to recommend them or call them again.
Description of Work: I contacted Goode Plumbing to, replace the toilet seat on my one piece Kohler toilet which had corroded bolts which required them to be cut off and removed, replace a wax ring on my bathroom toilet, rod my bathroom sink and replace the trap on my kitchen sink.

Keep in mind that the water heater flush is not just a basic flush, but one where we also use a new drain valve that has an opening that is much larger than the standard drain valve to help remove the sediment more completely. I called Goode Plumbing over the weekend when they were closed and they called me back and go on the schedule for Monday AM. They called to confirm and Andrew Jameson from Goode Plumbing called as well and did get to my house early which was GREAT! He was so polite and customer focused and made sure he had booties on his boots to ensure he did not get the carpet dirty. He figured out very quickly that the faucet needed a new cartridge and explained what needed to be done. He fortunately had a new part I needed in his truck! It simply could not have gone better. I definitely recommend Goode Plumbing as they are awesome!
Description of Work: My shower faucet somehow was jammed and I could not shut it off totally which resulted in leaking and not being able to use the shower.

It really was a simple fix. The Technician helped me figure out the shower fixture. The manager Michael called a hour later to follow up, and I informed him of the details of the job and asked him about future work I need. I will be using them in the future and will refer Goode Plumbing LLC to all who needs good plumbing service.
Description of Work: The plumbing technician investigated what I thought was a problem with slow hot water to the shower head. It turned out I really didn't have a problem and that I have this weird shower faucet and I wasn't working it correctly. The tech showed me how to work it correctly, and the shower works great now.

We noticed a leak from our toilet, and thought it was from the base. I called them the next day and they sent out someone within a few hours. I felt they really tried to fit us in and I appreciated that. He discovered it was not from the toilet itself, but from a loose connection to the water pipe so it was an easy fix and only a dispatch charge. The repairman was efficient, polite and explained the situation very clearly. I would absolutely use them again.

Due to an unexpected scheduling problem, the owner came and did the installation. His work was excellent. I rate them excellent on customer service. They could have offered to reschedule. Instead the owner came and did the installation instead of leaving me with a unfunctioning sink. This is supplier who is focused on excellent customer service. I highly recommend this plumbing provider.
Description of Work: Remove existing bath room self rimming sink and installed new self rimming sink. Reinstalled existing faucet on the new sink. Installed new pop up drain assembly.

Andrew (or "Drew") was great! He was extremely professional, smart, and an extraordinarily nice person. He arrived on time, explained everything very clearly, and worked tirelessly. He was also meticulously careful, both in the way he handled everything while working and in cleaning up after he was finished. The next day, Mike from Goode Plumbing called to check that everything had gone well, a sign of the firm's concern with quality control. I will definitely use Goode for all future plumbing needs, and will be asking for Drew to do the work. Both Drew and the firm have my highest possible recommendation. I couldn't be more satisfied with the whole experience: this was the epitome of professionalism combined with friendly personal relations.
