Response from Goode Plumbing
When I saw this review and looked up the Member's history with us, I was very surprised to say the least. We originally went out because the Member was having an issue with his toilet not flushing well. One of our plumbers checked the toilet and all other fixtures in the bathroom out. It was an older toilet with worn parts and was the only fixture that was not draining well. We also found that the drain work that was in the house for the toilet was not properly done. However, it was determined that a complete overhaul of the toilet should resolve the issue. Shortly after the work was completed, he was having some issues with it flushing again so we sent one of our plumbers back who cleared the trapway. This was done in the middle of May 2013. This was the last I had heard from this Member until mid March 2014. He called and explained that we had been out the previous year to repair his toilet and it was still not working quite right. He said he felt he spent a fair amount of money with us, and would we mind having another look at it. We told him that would be absolutely no problem, and sent someone out the same day. My plumber did some extensive testing, and felt the best solution other than repiping the drain work, which would be pretty involved (we would have been glad to do it for him of course), that a new, different toilet with different flush specifications would most likely work. We looked around for a toilet that would fit this application, and located one, and installed it, again-the same day. I then called him to make sure he was happy with the way things turned out, and he said he was. So when I told him that there would be absolutely no charge for the new, installed toilet, I thought he would be even happier-and he indicated that this was indeed to his satisfaction. I did this because I felt he had already paid a fair amount of money to us, and that since the original job was not to his complete satisfaction, this was the right thing to do. We are indeed professionals that do our best to diagnose unusual problems. There are times that these diagnostic solutions can take certain steps or procedures, especially when plumbing in home was not done correctly and there may be hidden issues. We try to work with the homeowner to come up with a solution that is as least invasive as possible but will still work . In this case, we did have to try a couple of things to get this completed properly. We did not drag this out for 6 months-as soon as the Member called and said things were still not working well, we sent someone over in a very timely manner. When he was not satisfied with the original solution, we made it right and did not charge any money. I do feel bad that this was not resolved the first time, but I truly feel we handled things very professionally and properly in getting this situation taken care of.
