Thank you very much for your nice review and your grades. We never like to see a D in anything of course, but appreciate the fact that you were very happy with all aspects other than price. I will agree that high quality plumbing in general is not inexpensive, but we do offer a great value when you consider the quality and customer experience we provide. Some of things that drive price up include licensing, insurance, bonding, and other legal requirements that we have no control over. Also, there is a widespread shortage of skilled tradespeople-so as a result, the wages they are paid are high. We would love to see more people being encouraged to take up a trade and take it seriously! Many high schools have removed trades from their curriculums. Few high schools offer woodshop, auto shop, and other classes. Even fewer colleges offer any type of trades. And bespoke trade schools have closed. It is a shame, because there is a great opportunity in them that is being ignored, and it also causes an increase in price to the end user-the homeowner. We hire only the best that we can, and pay them a very good wage and provide great benefits so they do a good job for you.

Description of Work: On short notice, Goode Plumbing came to my house to clear a blocked drain and blocked toilet, doing a very good job. While they were there, we asked and received an estimate for re-piping our lines, which were very old and, at certain joints, leaking. After considering the proposal, we called back and asked them to do the job. Ron, who came out initially and with whom we were satisfied, was booked for several days. However, he and Ken came in on the weekend, fitting us between the other jobs. I am glad they were able to accommodate us. They worked quickly without taking shortcuts, pointing out some problems we had and how they were going to be fixed. They explained why they used certain materials (e.g., thicker gauge copper, different shutoff valves, etc.). They seemed to accept us hovering over them as they worked, answering questions we had. They double-checked their work and listened intently for water flow and small leaks. Ron found one small leak in my toilet and replaced the “innards”, rejecting a part that he had brought because he heard a small leak that I could not detect and went to a different part to solve the leak. Basically, both Ron and Ken took pride in their work and the problem-solving and craftsmanship showed. They also were proud of their company. It has a good reputation and, in a small job several years ago, I used them and was quite pleased with the work and the suggestions that were made (regarding a drum trap in the bath tub and keeping the drains clear with monthly treatments). I would definitely call Goode Plumbing again and would ask if these two gentlemen were available for work. I suspect the project could have been done a little more cheaply, but the end product would not be the same. Additionally, there were things that Ron and Ken found and fixed that were not in the original estimate. However, they did not charge extra for these. Perhaps a lower bid would have tacked those adjustments onto their bill and we would have paid the same for lesser work. In short, their work was quite, uh, goode.

We are happy that you found us punctual and professional, but as we always strive to be the best we can be in every category, please let us know how you felt we could have done better in the others. This was for a basic water heater drain and flush, and the pricing was known up front as it was pre purchased by you through Angie's List. We drained the water heater, replaced the factory drain valve with our full port valve, flushed the tank, and refilled the heater. We flushed faucets out and did a visual inspection of the water heater components. This is honestly a good value! As always, we welcome any feedback and appreciate the service call.

He replaced tub/shower faucets with new, pressure balanced single handle Moen Moentrol unit with service stops and new type L copper hard drawn tubing. Replaced tub drain kit. Mike Goode is one of those rare service providers who takes pride in his work and cares deeply about customer satisfaction. He is always polite, respectful, and eminently pleasant to deal with. He gives rock-solid estimates and keeps to his price no matter how long the job ends up taking. He is always punctual and calls in the rare instance he is running late. He cleans up after himself and stays as long as it takes to answer questions and talk about possible solutions to future issues. He honestly wants to make the customer happy, and will do whatever it takes to do a clean, perfect, professional job that is 100 % satisfactory. We used a variety of service providers during this kitchen remodel, so we are well-acquainted with what good (and bad) work consists of, and we were thoroughly happy with Goode Plumbing. We will continue to use Mike Goode for his excellent work.

The repair went smoothly and without disruption or havoc to my tenants. He did a great job and I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: I had an automatic water heater that had some problems. The problem had been difficult to diagnose and according to some plumbers very expensive to fix. Goode Plumbing came in and diagnosed the problem and was able to determine what needed to be done for a fair price vs the other quotes I had received. He handled the repair quickly and with little disruption to the lives of my tenants.

The first time he doesn't charge for his labor. He is so trustworthy I trust him in my home if I had to leave. He has helped us get discounts plenty of times. His pricing is very competitive. He wears booties so he doesn't track dirt and he is very professional and polite about cleaning up after himself. He is super efficient and works very late into the night. He is very willing to come whenever you need him. I can't say enough about him he is the best plumber I have ever had.
