GIL'S FLOORING

Description of Work: Install and Refinish hardood floors over 1,900 square feet.

Description of Work: Refinished all wood floors in a studio apartment in Lakeview. Professional, on time, quality job and clean. I wholeheartedly recommend Gil's flooring. Was half the cost of the next highest bid -- all estimates received were from Angie's List providers with overall "A" ratings. Gil also made some common sense recommendations and gave me options. I will be calling him for much larger job in the Spring.

Description of Work: Tore out old flooring, leveled old dining room with newer family room addition, and installed reclaimed hardwood flooring (found on Craigslist) in the space. Also refinished the floors. On a previous job they refinished old oak floors in another area of the house, with some patchwork, and built new oak stairs to our second floor. We discovered after ripping up carpeting on the stairs that the previous owner had removed the original stairs and put in 2x10s.

Description of Work: Gil and his crew installed hardwood floor in my entire house. My first floor is on a slab and he installed 3/4 inch plywood as an underlayment followed by the 3/4 inch oak hardwood. The entire area measured approximately 1200 sq. ft. During that time I was adding a 3 story addition to my home and before contracting Gil I explained that I was looking for quality work but at a very cost effective price because I was already spending way too much on the addition. My contractor for the addition was charging me a little over $10,000 for the same work but I decided to go with Gil because I saved close to $4000. The guy is great and very flexible. The addition took very long to complete, but when my contractor required the floors in Gil and his team were always on time and ready to work. They did a magnificent job and I can't say enough about the job they did. He even did my staircases for very little extra cost in order to make the house look spectacular.
