Description of Work: Great job as general contractor for the building of a two-story porch in our Andersnville 3-flat. GE helped with identifying the architect and procuring the permits. It also undertook the construction. We passed inspection w/o a hitch. We love our porches!

Description of Work: We engaged GE Construction to update the plumbing infrastructure in our vintage 3-flat. The improvements included replacing a portion of the property's main sewer, as well as most of the vertical pipes from the two upper floor units. GE Construction has a long-term collaboration with a plumbing company, which carried out the work under GE Construction's supervision. GE's owner, Edin, assessed the project, brought in the plumbing firm, took care of all permitting paperwork, and supervised what is, frankly, an onerous and dirty infrastructure project. Our trust was well placed, because within a few days all the underground work was done, and we passed the first inspection without any trouble. Then followed the vertical re-piping part of the project which, again, took only a few days. Edin supervised closely the plumbing subcontractor, and arranged for the final inspection which we also passed with flying colors.

Description of Work: We engaged GE Construction to carry out a substantial renovation of a unit in our Andersonville three-flat. The work included the addition of a second bathroom, and the complete renovation of the kitchen. (1) Bathroom project: This was a fairly complex and elegant project that transformed a closet and a contiguous pantry into a unified space dedicated to the unit's second bathroom. It included demolition of the two constituent spaces and the framing and design of the ensuing volume into a comfortable bathroom. GE Construction used the plumbers and electricians that has long been working with to carry out all the infrastructure work. At our request the bathroom was finished in travertine and Kohler fixtures. (2) The kitchen project was more straight forward since we were working with a conventional layout. GE Construction drew up plans for the new kitchen on a design software, brought us samples for cabinets and countertops and set out to carry out the project.

Description of Work: We engaged GE Construction at the recommendation of a friend to build two-story porches in the back of our Andersonville building. This was shortly after the City of Chicago tightened building regulations for porches considerably, so we wanted to make sure that the project was carried out professionally. The owner of GE Construction came to personally assess the project. We had a very detailed conversation about what we wanted done. Within 24 hours he returned to us with a first-rate recommendation for an architect (required now per city rules), and submitted what we found out to be a very competitive bid. He worked closely with the architect and us to finalize the plans. He also came to the meeting at the City of Chicago permitting office.
