 + -1 morework was completed as requested. The cleanup could have been better and there was substantial water on the floor of the basement. Some would be expected, but the cleanup could have been better.
Description of Work: replaced 4 water line shutoff valves that were leaking or not operational. Reconfigured the water connection to the furnace humidifier using a proper fitting to replace a pin valve.

I added two issues that I had not mentioned in my initial phone call, but, no problem, those were addressed and fixed as well. 4.  + -1 moreI had this work done at the end of December and am forgetting the names of the two gentleman who came, but they were both great. They extended the length of the gas pipe. We also discovered that the gas line to the dryer had been damaged was it was disconnected so they ran to the store and got a new gas line. Given the size/shape of the space, it was challenging to connect, but they both kept a great attitude. I really appreciate their enthusiastic help in a situation that took a slight turn.

 + -1 moreThey are very professional. They are always here on time, whenever they tell us they will be here. They are very good. I have had no problem with them what-so-ever. The reason I would recommend them is you call them; the girl will have them call you or they will call you at the end of the day. They are either here the next day or the following day if it is not an emergency. They come right out. If they tell you they are going to be here at 7:30 in the morning, they are here at 7:30 in the morning. They are very reliable.
Description of Work: They had to fixed the toilet. The assembly in the toilet had to be replaced and fixed a leak. They come in, they do their work and they leave the place spotless. They leave it as clean as it was when they came in. They clean up after themselves.

 + 0 moreThe job went like clockwork, done in 2 1/2 days. Don't even remember if the pressure was this good when we bought the house in 1993. Tom has done work for me before and I have always been very well satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: Tom and his crew re-piped the house to solve a water pressure issue, the house was built in 1939 and had mostly old original pipes. They also installed new faucets in the basement powder room, the laundry room, the kitchen, the shower and bath.

 + -1 moreThe workmen called in advance as requested and showed up on time. They quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the ejector pump in less than a half hour. I didn't compare prices with other plumbers so I can't say whether or not the price was competitive. But I was so impressed with the professionalism of the guys who showed up that I didn't question the price they quoted me. I've since been told it was a good price.

 + -1 moreA very nice gentleman came out and identified our problem--a warped flap. We're hopeless at home repair, obviously. Anyway, I paid $60 for him to tell me that and they wanted an additional $150 to install an $6 item. I told him that I'd go buy it myself, which I did (actually I had to go to several stores several times to find the correct size). So instead of them offering to fix it for a reasonable amount, saving a busy working mom time and effort, I paid $60 for a diagnosis. I know this is how the plumbing industry works, but it still sucks.

He advised her on how we could fix these items ourselves to save money. This is a quality company and great people. They did work for my parents when they were getting ready to sell their home and they were very thorough and responsive. I highly recommend this company not only for their work product but also for their integrity.
Description of Work: I called to have them come out to look at a problem we were having with 2nd floor tub. We were getting water in the ceiling below and called to have them look. They determined that it was not a leak in the pipes but a tiling issue.

 + 0 moreAlways well, seldom any return visits once the work is done. Garrity will not use inferior stuff like plastic pipe...nor do we any longer even think about it. I really like and trust this contractor.
Description of Work: We've been using Tom Garrity's services for over ten years on our 1915 3-flat. He's always been very responsive, prompt in an emergency, and very fair in his pricing. Garrity is the "Gold Standard" in the NW Side, and also goes a bit further afield. Can't say enough about his skills, and determination (and Larry's) to get it done right, as in replumbing our aging galvanized supply lines with new copper (worth every cent)...ditto a water heater, new bathtub and bath renovations, drain line problems, even minor fixes like gas line capping. The current visit was to rod out a greasy kitchen drain line and redo the dishwasher drain connection (had back pressure shutting down the DW pump)...a successful fix.

 + -1 moreLarry came to assess the situation and clearly explained what the problem was...shoddy, cheap construction and installation that began to fail this year. He and two others came today to replace the faucet and redevelop the connection (having to saw a squared-hole in the opposite wall, then welding the pipe to a new attachment). Water occurred! He and the workers were careful, efficient, and friendly, The cost for all this was, I think, very reasonable, given the situation. If we ever have a plumbing need, we will call Garrity first.
Description of Work: We needed to replace our faucet for our outside deck water; we live in a condominium in a four-story building, We called Garrity based on reviews posted on Angie's list.

 + -1 moreOriginally I just had them come to fix the gas leak in the pipes, but while they were here I asked them to look at a couple other things and they were happy to look at them and fix them. Even ran out and got a part I needed. Was very happy with them. Will definitely use again.
