+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the work that Larry did. He arrived right on time (even accommodating my request to arrive as early in the two hour window as possible) and got to work right away. He was able to unclog the tub drain (which now flows better than ever) and fix both of our drippy faucets. Previous plumbers have told us that we would need to replace all the hardware to fix our leaky faucets, but Larry was able to fix the problem just by replacing the washers. We are very satisfied with the work done and will definitely use their services again when needed.
Description of Work: I called Garrity Plumbing to fix a clogged tub drain and 2 leaky faucets.

+ -1 moreExcellent work and experience. Tom and Tony came out the day I called to assess the problem. They promptly returned the next day, explained what they would do, worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards and showed/explained to me what was done.
Description of Work: Tom Garrity, the owner, replaced the main bathtub pipe, drain stopper, and overflow cap. He also rodded the tub line and the house to street main line.

+ -1 moreGarrity was the second company I called at 9:30 am. The plumber worked around my schedule to come that same day and actually arrived early which was very helpful. The plumber and his apprentice quickly fixed my sink and put everything back together, including the mess I had made taking everything apart. This took about 10 minutes. They then drained my toilet, pulled it out, and rodded it to dislodge the shaving cream cap that was stuck. They resealed the toilet and put it back. They cleaned up their mess there, also. They were responsive, polite and pleasant, and seemed unirritated by my questions. This all took a little over 30 minutes. Their hourly rate was less than the other company I called, but this job wasn't necessarily based on the hourly rate. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Electric rodded my kitchen sink pipes to allow water to flow. Also, pulled toilet and electric rodded it to removed lodge object and reconnected it.

Regarding the quote for the new laundry sink, they were honest and up-front about ALL of the costs involved (including the need for drywall repairs, painting, etc.) and pretty much talked us out of doing it. We really appreciate the fact that they do great work, have very fair pricing, and aren't just looking to make a buck, they have our true interest at heart. We have used them before on a rental property that we own, and had great results at very fair prices. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: My wife and I needed our garbage disposal system fixed, as it was backing up. They rectified the problem right away. Our Kohler shower sprayer and hot tub sprayer had slight leaks, and were fixed with new rubber o-rings. We also wanted a quote for tearing out the old laundry sink and re-plumbing / installing a new, heavy-duty sink.

+ -1 moreI didn't trust him. His assessment of our problems were way out of line with what the other plumbers said. (And they gave us free estimates, by the way). Although I don't mind paying someone for their time, $80 seems excessive especially when no work has been done.
Description of Work: We're on the third floor of a three-flat. Whenever our toilet flushes, the toilet of our neighbor below us also flushes or the water level fluctuates. We also have a problem with a broken pipe near our boiler. Garrity looked at our toilets and told us there was really no problem, that it was normal even though two other plumbers had told us there certainly was a problem. He also offered to fix the broken pipe on the spot for $139. When the two other plumbers who gave us estimates told us it was a much more involved job. We told him we'd think about it. I think he just wanted to patch it up in a superficial way and make some quick money. What's more, he charged us $80 for an estimate even though when I'd inquired before making the appointment I'd been told estimates were free. When I pointed this out, he said this was a service call although he'd done no work. He spent less than an hour at our house.

+ -1 moreI called Garrity because my master shower was not providing water as hot as it used to be, plus the water pressure seemed much lower. They came out within two days and it was only $80;however, it seemed like the temperature gage was not accurate;90 degrees felt like 80, etc. I called again and they came right out to fix it again. Then it seemed like the water pressure was still much lower than it should have been, they came out immediately and fixed that. The later two calls were no charge.
Description of Work: Fixed master shower;low flow and hot water problem.

Tom disagreed with me as to who was responsible for the damage and did not want to be involved in any way with the repair. However, he performed this new job for me at no cost so that in his words "You would be happy".

Description of Work: He roto rooted the basement from the backyard all the way to the front, changed the faucets (handles) so they wouldn't drip, and the tub and the sink in the basement were blocked which he unblocked.

But, he replaced the pipe and valve on his second visit which corrected the problem. He cleaned up after himself as well. His assistant was very courteous too.

On Sunday morning, my tenant downstairs called to say that water was coming down their bathroom ceiling and wall, causing a mirror to detach from the wall. I told the tenant to go upstairs and shut off the toilet water supply and that stopped the leaking immediately. Tom came back on Monday to inspect the job. He tightened the tank connection and changed the flapper even though the toilet hasn't been used since he fixed it. He said to keep an eye on it in case of future trouble, but I wished he was more honest with me and acknowledge that he goofed up and didn't tighten the connection enough in the first place and that caused the leakage. Now I am stuck with a ruined ceiling and wall damage on the floor below.
Description of Work: I found Garrity Plumbing on Angie's List and had used them twice before and was satisfied with their work. This time, I had an old toilet that was leaking inside the tank causing the water bill to go up. Tom and Sam came out to replace the tank assembly and to add a shutoff valve to the toilet. They also fixed a leaky tub faucet.

Description of Work: Changed a connector hose on bathroom sink on 2nd floor. I also asked for metal connector instead of rubber. They also went into the basement to rot out the basement drain in the vanity. In my kitchen sink they changed the hose to stainless steel.
