My kitchen sink started to drain very slowly, so after checking the p-trap, I figured it needed to be rodded. I checked on Angie's List and found Garrity had good ratings and was very close to my house. So I gave them a call. I called at about 9:15 am and received a callback about 11:00 am. Two people were at my house by 11:30 am. They tried rodding my line, but it didn't seem to work. Additionally, one of my pipes started to leak black goo while rodding. The pipes were very old galvanized pipes that have sprung leaks before, so it didn't surprise me. Garrity suggested I change out the old 1.5 inch galvanized pipes for 2 inch PVC; which I immediately agreed with. He then called another person to bring additional supplies and to help out. As he cut out the old pipes, he showed me what was in them. The pipes were literally filled with this black slime and it was no wonder water wasn't draining properly. This stinky black slime also went all over the place and thankfully, my basement is unfinished so it didn't matter too much. They had the new pipes installed in about 2 hours and my sink is draining like a charm now. They took great care to clean up after themselves. They mopped the floor and wiped down anything that got splashed. The left it as clean as I could possibly expect in spite of the great mess that existed. I would definitely use them again for my plumbing work. They were all great to work with, quick and responsive, and very reasonably priced.

Contacted Tom Garrity 2/14 for an estimate, he came by the same day to look at the job. I was immediately impressed by his experience and knowledge. I have previously talked to 4 other plumbers, I felt Tom was the best to work with. I gave the job to him immediately and added on an additional project. Tom and two helpers came out on Monday afternoon, to begin working on connecting one of my downspouts to the catch basin to prevent water pooling in my driveway. They completed the main preparation on Monday, came back on Tuesday (a very cold day in Chicago) to finish the job. He also installed a new toilet for me in a basement powder room. Work was down in an exemplary fashion, clean up was great and total job came in under estimate. I am very happy with working with Tom and his crew and will have them back for other plumbing work if I need any. Great company to work with

I had no problems with them. The guy is kind of a grumpy old man but I think that is just his personality but not in a bad way. The work they did is working and not leaking. One thing is that they should do is wear booties in the house after walking through mud. I called them late and they came that day. He did a good job. It was a fair price.

He has resolved issues that other plumbing companies could not and he always does an excellent job. The price was fair and he was very careful with the older pipes and was quick as well. His wife is the office manager and she does a great job and they are very responsive to crises as well. When we needed a plumber again we called him for the installation and he came back twice for adjustments because of the style of the toilet but he always does excellent work.

My experience with Tom and his crew at Garrity Plumbing was great from start to finish. I had several contractors provide proposals for the work, and Tom was able to suggest a simpler, less expensive way to accomplish the job than the rest. While testing one of the new spigots they installed, they found that a small pipe leading to it had rusted closed. They replaced it for no extra charge. They showed up on time, completed the job efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and were generally a pleasure to work with.

I have used Garrity a number of times and they always do a great job. Larry called to let me know when he was on the way and arrived exactly at the scheduled time. He and his assistant got right to work, and everything that I requested was completed promptly. They did a great job.

I called and left a message on Sunday morning; I received a return call the same night. Two men called 15 minutes before arrival and showed up on time. The job was done quickly and correctly.

Dept. of water informed us that we had a leak. Dept of water came and said toilet had leak. Called our plumber and leak was fixed.

One night the tank on the upstairs toilet fell off. Called Garrity and they were able to come out within a day or two. I knew they would have to replace the toilet, but since they were coming out I had them check some other plumbing problems we've lived with for a long time (the two bathroom sinks). This is a 100 year old home and I was afraid of what they might find. They came out on time and quickly got to work. After they assessed what they needed to do and gave me the estimate for approval, they got to work and one guy went off to get the parts they needed. The work was done well and they cleaned up everything too.

They are very good. Slightly expensive, but they always do a great job.

10yo automatic submersible sewage / ejector pump was blowing circuit. Garrity replaced the old Zoeller pump with a new one. Called them last night, they were here this morning. Both punctual and patient with my questions. The only head-scratcher is that the serviceman was unable to tell me which model he installed, or provide any associated literature. Based on his thinking that it was a Zoeller model M267, I did a little price comparison online. I was charged $545 for the pump itself, and a couple of hundred bucks in labor. That's about two hundred dollars more than full retail for the pump. Disappointing!

I was very happy with this guy. The guy is from our neighborhood. I called him and he got back to me promptly. He was a happy kind of guy, and he came to the house and made friends with our dog right away. I kind of liked that. He was nice and personable and friendly and down to earth guy. He seemed like he knew his business and I was very happy with the price he gave me. I could not have been any happier with him and I would recommend him to anybody and I will continue to use him again in the future.

On Sat.,.2/18, a phone message was left on the answering machine and our call was returned the following day and an appt. was set up Mr. Garrity arrived at the agreed time, corrected our plumbing problem to our satisfaction, and cleaned up any sign of work that had been done.

Everything worked out great. I will use them again in the future.

We were very happy with results. It went great.

He correctly identify the problem and provided a creative solution. His price was high so I used someone else.

They were wonderful, great, they came quickly the next business day.

They are very affordable, great during regular hours. They are a great mom and pop shop. They always do what they say they are going to do. They always show up when they say they are going to show.

They are always good and dependable. When they didn't get it right, they came back and got it right. Their prices are reasonable.

I saw their ratings on Angie's List; they were nearby and well-rated. I called, and left a message. Message was professional. I received a very quick reply, described needed work, and indicate preferred timeframe. Scheduling was flexible to my schedule. I was providing the showerheads, and they hadn't yet arrived a day before the work was scheduled. I called to reschedule, and again the call was handled quickly and well. Being nearby , they completed the outdoor work, and asked us to call back when the showerheads arrived, which we did Price was fair; service was great, well executed. I wasn't home, but my wife was very complimentary of the service person, and his professionalism. We wouldn't hesitate to call Garrity again for future work -- they'd be our first call.

Garrity is a polite family run business. My call was returned quickly,and the woman returning the call was polite, and cheerful . An appointment was made promptly, and when the plumber showed up he had two other plumbers with him ( one of them was his son) This made the work go very quickly, and efficiently. All of the men that showed up were polite, and respectful.

They were swamped with calls after the floods, but they managed to work us in their busy schedule that week. They were very professional and the job was done quickly. I would definitely call them again.

I had problems with my basement flooding, that then led to other issues. Eventually Garrity Plumbing was able to come in, clean up the work done by a bunch of other people and solve my problems.

I did not call or use them.
