About us

We have three locations, two in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood and one in Andersonville. Foursided in Lakeview began our journey in 2001 with a focus on creative custom framing. Twosided, also in Lakeview, opened in 2004 with a focus in cards and gifts. Foursided in Andersonville opened in 2006 and brings the worlds of framing and gifts to a retailclimax. Our Chicago custom framing stores are dedicated to bringing imagination to life with art, custom framing, ephemera and antiques. It’s basically what we do best. Walking into a Foursided store is like transporting yourself into the ultimate curiosities emporium with an unparalleled team of artists that work with you to customize your selection. Aside from being Chicago’s favorite custom framing store, our stores offers a variety of cards and gifts for any urban dweller. The range of selections is vast but we’ll give it a try. We’re certain you’ll find a card that will make you laugh, cry, or pee your pants, a gift for any occasion, vintage or ephemeral trinkets from yesteryear, anagram letter tiles by the pound, flashcards by the mile, current artwork by local and national artisans…and well, let’s just say, the list is exhausting. Plan to spend some time because you’ll go in for a card but get distracted by the many additional offerings.

The person who helped me at The Great Frame up on N Broadway was helpful in working with me to choose the frame and glass for an art print. I don't think they are the cheapest provider that you could fine. However, I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and with the appearance of the finished job. I've been happy to have it hanging on my wall.

WORK DONE ON TIME, ON BUDGET - AND DONE AS ART IN ITSELF. PROBABLY NOT THE CHEAPEST FRAMING, BUT THE BEST VALUE FOR THE QUALITY AND DETAIL.
Description of Work: I HAVE ASKED TODD TO FRAME MANY THINGS FOR ME AS HIS WORK IN THE SHOP ON BROADWAY (NEWER TWO SIDED ON CLARK AND WELLINGTON ALSO HAS HIS WORK) CAPTURED MY IMAGINATION. TODD'S FRAMING IS ART ITSELF. ALLISON LEONARD WORKS WITH HIM AND HAS ALSO BEEN QUITE HELPFUL. I'VE HAD A LARGE, ORIGINAL CHALK FRAMED AND THE FRAME WAS PERFECT. THEY RECOMMENDED JUST THE RIGHT FRAME FOR THAT WITH NO MATTING. THEY FRAMED TWO TATTED LACE PIECES FOR ME AND THEY WERE DONE WELL. WHEN MY BEST FRIEND'S FATHER-IN-LAW DIED, I ASKED THEM TO DO A RUSH ORDER INCORPORATING A NEWS ARTICLE AND SOME OLD PHOTOS. HE DID SPECTACULAR WORK WITH THE ARTFUL LAYOUT AND SUBTLE MAT CARVINGS. FINALLY, I TOOK HIM FOUR AUDUBON-TYPE BIRD PRINTS TO FRAME. THEY WERE PERFECT. HE DID BEAUTIFUL, SWEET DESIGN IN THE MATTING THAT SET OFF THE BIRDS. GORGEOUS WORK THAT IS CREATIVE, UNUSUAL AND UNIQUE. TODD'S SPECIALTY IS OLD FAMILY PHOTOS.
