After 7 years of using Four Seasons for HVAC and then Plumbing, I have to return and tear apart their plumbing services. On Xmas Eve 2024 we had a backup of the main line in our MB with water coming up from the the toilet and bath drain. FS promptly came out to route the line. Total service call was $934.00 and we were thankful for the help. A few days later the problem re-emerged. FS sent someone to address the clog again, and this time the individual showed me his camera in the line and indicated we should perform a hydro-jet and descale of the main line, but needed a cleanout installed. Without any estimate or breakdown of cost, he just quoted me $6,500 and said he was taking into account the $ I had already paid, then tried to rush me into financing. I asked for time. Through a friend a found a company who came out and did a competitive bid. Based off of what FS said, they pulled the toilet, got an idea of various dig depts and a roundabout of where things would be, and gave me a range of prices based on the dig depth in a written quote and breakdown. They also answered questions I had. When the toilet was pulled, they showed me that the flange had been broken after being re-tightened too tight. Given FS Plumbing had done the last 4 jobs on the toilet, which included new seals on the flange, it had to be FS who broke it. He sent me pictures and said his company could repair it for $695. I told him that was my preference. He recommended I call FS in case they insisted on doing the work themselves, but indicated that he knew at his company, if someone complained loud enough, they could get the amount refunded. I took the quote back to my guy at FS who could only beat their quote by $300, but complained he couldn't go lower, because of labor costs. I eventually told him we were going with the other company. At no point in time did he say, "Oh, but we'll need to come back and do the flange repair." On the day of the job the plumbers I hired came out to do the dig and install the cleanout line and another team was coming later to do the hydro jet and descale and install the new flange. 30 minutes into the job after they dropped a line to officially locate the new spot they come in and tell me the good news. I ALREADY HAVE A CLEANOUT LINE! It was buried 2in underground for some reason, but this was the first time they noticed because it was the first time they had gone all the way to the front of the house. Had they been the ORIGINAL plumbers, they would have made sure to do so (which did require pulling a closer toilet), BEFORE setting up the full workload, but didn't want to do that work because they couldn't envision a world where someone would have sold $6,500 worth of work without making sure it HAD TO BE DONE FIRST. Well at least I saved $4,595 off the job, but I used the time in between crews to call FS and ask for a refund of $695 from the $934 job. On that day I spoke to a very nice customer service rep who took all of the information and told me I would have to send him the pictures and quote offered, but made it sound like a foregone conclusion the refund would be issued, because I wasn't demanding $934, I was only asking for the $695 to compensate me for the item I had to pay to repair that FS broke. At NO POINT did he say, "Well, we have to do the repair ourselves." I sent the documentation, but a week later I get a call saying the claim was denied, because that is FS policy. I tell her that we're past that point and I find that totally unacceptable, so she escalated the issue and a few days later I get a call back offering me $300. I'm tired of fighting, so I say fine. No other terms are explained. Then today I got an e-mail saying to get the $300 refund I had to sign a waiver that releases them from any liability for any work done at my property (thousands of dollars over the years) and couldn't "slander" them online. I rejected the document and here we are, with me filing a dispute with the CC and writing negative review. Never use their plumbers. They are just salespeople.
