This is going to be a lengthy and detailed review because given the overwhelming five star reviews I want to provide as much detail as to why I'm reviewing this company so poorly. It's worth noting that I've never felt inclined to review a service before so for me to take the time to rehash this speaks to how important I think it is to voice my displeasure. We used Kyle and his company for hardwood flooring installation in three bedrooms, a hallway, and three large staircases in our new home. We were between two companies and I ultimately went to bat for Footprints with my husband because the pricing was comparable to the other company but Kyle had been extra responsive and friendly at the onset so I felt like we'd be in good hands and could entrust this large job to them. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there once the work began. My biggest complaint and disappointment was the complete lack of respect and care that the team showed to our home that we had not yet even moved into. They were handed a freshly painted, vacant and recently cleaned home when they began working and when they finished we had dark wood stain splattered on the ceiling, the front door glass, the front door frame and adjoining baseboards, the door's wooden blinds, and other areas around it as they claimed someone had tripped and fallen while carrying stain. Of course you cannot fault someone for falling but outside of them doing a patchy job of paint touchups on the ceiling there was no attempt made to clean the rest of the mess and it's forced us to repaint the areas on our dime and spend hours cleaning the aftermath. Touch ups are one thing and to be expected after a large installation job; this was next-level sloppy. The blinds are now ruined and we'll need to replace them. Additionally, they left black stain fingerprints and handprints all over our light switches, our walls, our toilet seats, our doorframes, and our windowsills while they maneuvered around the house. Again, the entire house had been repainted by previous owners for the sale of the house so the marks marred otherwise clean surfaces. There was sawdust everywhere throughout the home and I found that whatever they swept, they pushed and piled into the linen closet in the laundry room. There was so much sawdust left behind that when the AC kicked on it flew dust into the air and all over our window screens. It's been a few weeks since they completed and I'm still wiping sawdust from the baseboards, windows, and doors. They needed to pull up existing carpet on the stairs and replace the stairs with the natural wood and on the first step they left a gaping hole in the drywall from where the carpet met the wall. Not only did they not repair it but they never even mentioned it to us and just left it as if that was normal. Several of the risers were left with major gaps and some nails were left poking out. Baseshoes were missing leaving large gaps between the floor and the riser. When we mentioned the missing baseshoe, Kyle sent someone to repair but they were several hours late because they had forgotten they needed to be at our house. The project itself was delayed almost four days after daily communication and reassurance that they would complete on time and each day we received word that they would not be completing it for one reason or another. Some were valid reasons and we were understanding of it but ultimately it was just poorly managed. These delays caused us to then push back other work we had scheduled with various vendors. What was surprising to me was that at no point did Kyle--as the owner-- come by the house to walk the project with us or discuss in person knowing we had major concerns around trustworthiness of his team for multiple reasons that we brought up to him. Instead he issued a small discount and seemingly moved on. This experience left me feeling disrespected and disheartened in that there was a complete disregard for our property that we entrusted to them to make better than they found it. Instead, we are left with more projects and more out of pocket costs than we anticipated. Based on the other reviews I've seen on this company it's unfortunate that we seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick on our project. For their sake I hope they take this feedback to heart and improve not only in quality control but overall in the way they treat the assets they are working in.

We had Footprints Floors install hardwood floor in a smaller room attached to our bedroom a year or so ago and they did such a great job, we knew we'd go with them again once we were ready to do our master bedroom. When the price of lumber skyrocketed during the heart of the pandemic, Kyle did a great job of keeping as apprised of how it would impact our cost. Once we we're ready, the process was extremely simple. Kyle was very transparent and communicative about how the process would work and how everything would time out. The project was quite the undertaking as there was a tremendous amount of leveling to do with the house being 100 years old, the subfloor being worthless, and there being a couple of uniquely shaped closets. Raimundo and his crew work tirelessly for 7 days, working late into the evenings to try and stay on schedule. If there were any adjustments, Kyle was quick to layout how they impacted the timing and even made great suggestions like getting rid of the old metal vents and replacing them with wood vents to make the floor look even better. The final product was incredible. We couldn't be any happier with how things turned out. Whenever our first floor needs to have the hardwood redone, Footprints will be the only place we'll go.
