I took over a small business (sole proprietorship) and Flood Brothers was the previous owner's garbage removal provider. The contract was in the previous owner's name so I was not obligated to continue with them. Unfortunately, I had to pay the previous owner's balance before they would even consider removing their dumpster. We spent over a month without garbage service because even after I paid the balance, I was getting the run around as to when they would remove the dumpster. I had to call the city and complain to finally have it removed.
Description of Work: weekly garbage collection from a 1 cubic yard dumpster they provided.

This is one of the most unethical companies I have even dealt with. Any request you have requires paperwork be signed which is really just a contract extension. Tom, our sales rep, has been nothing but rude, and verbally abusive, and ends every telephone conversation with "we'll just sue your a**, we do it all day long." Phone calls, go unreturned, rate increases are 3x the industry average when compared to the competition. When our contract finally was up, they refused to pick up our dumpster to prevent the new company from delivering theirs. This company is bad news, do your self a favor and don't even pick up the phone to call the

Flood delivered garbage services as per contracted. They delivered spotty recycle pick up service, at best, during our first 6 months together. The recycle truck driver skipped us on his route (if he ever did the route that day) on a fairly regular basis (he was supposed to pick up recyclables once per week). Garbage drivers were MUCH better in regular pickup. HQ was professional and usually pretty good about getting a recycle pick up done as soon as possible (not on our next regular pickup date) when we complained that stuff was overflowing. It's a total pain in butt to have to call to get services that we paid for. Fortunately Flood finally changed drivers for recyclables and now seem to be back on track. One thing we'd like to have happen is for the pick up staff/drivers to bend over and pick up the OCCASIONAL box or item that won't fit into dumpsters due to their being so full. Overall rating so far = Fair = C. Hopefully things will stay on track so we can give them a higher rating next year.
Description of Work: Pick up our garbage 2x/week and recyclables 1x/week. We moved to Flood to gain a significant savings in garbage collection costs (vs. our former provider)

These people are rotten. Stay away from them. I wanted to add a lock to my dumpster because the whole neighborhood was using it. In order to do so, Flood sent out a salesman with some paperwork. He didn't tell me that what I was signing was not a simple request for a lock, but a 5-YEAR CONTRACT with no way out. His name is John Wayland. Flash forward to two years later. I wanted to change companies as part of a cost-cutting measure and went to read the small print when I discovered the 5-year clause. I couldn't get anywhere with Tom, the other guy in sales who kept repeating, "you signed a contract, ma'am. The other companies are all the same." Well, actually, no they are not. The big ones are but there are a couple of little family-owned local ones I found that have one-year terms with significantly cheaper fees. I'm a chump for not having figured this out, but you don't need to be. BEWARE!
