Feldco Windows Siding & Doors

I was very happy with the workmanship but I wasn't happy with the salesman who arranged it. I'm not happy with the follow up calls either. I probably won't use them again because of that. They knew I was also interested in siding and said that they had a promo for the spring. I never heard anything back for the siding. I ended up calling Feldco myself and they gave me a quote that was about 30% higher than Dillman.

They were prompt and cleaned up well after themselves. They shared with me exactly what it was that they did or needed to do. They completed the work in a timely fashion and worked very hard. They even have had great follow up and call after each job to check that everything is completed satisfactory. I have used their services about four times over the course of about four years. I have closely worked with Jim, the salesperson, and he was great! They even offer financing with no interest if you pay the balance within a certain amount of time. They are very attentive and call me once a year to see if there is any additional work I may need to have had done. They have worked out very well.

They were very professional and also relatively reasonable with their prices. That was actually what I was looking for because it was not my permanent residence. They were able to meet my price expectations so I went with them. I was satisfied with the work. They came in and got the work done quickly and professionally. They had to push the installation back a week because the worker’s truck broke down but they called me right away and told me what was going on. They were really responsive and were here when they said they were going to be here.

They did a good job, and the price was reasonable compared to competitors.

My review begins in 2006 when the sidelights to my front door began to leak. My now ex-husband was put in charge of getting them fixed, so in his infinite wisdom he called Feldco. This little endeavor cost me around $5K for what I later realized are four sheets of glass, some plastic decorative pieces and caulk. A few months, maybe not even, after the initial install, the windows were leaking worse than before they were fixed. We were worried about our newly installed Pergo floor being damaged and called Feldco to fix the windows. They sent out the same guys who originally installed the windows to do whatever fix they did. I was not the one on site that day, so I cannot say what they did, but was briefed by my ex as to who had shown up and that work was complete. I do not believe that we had to pay a service fee as it fell within the original install warranty. Let?s fast-forward to Dec 2013 when the seal in between the double panes of glass begins to fail and the foam is now visible between the glass. I called for service on my life-time warranty windows and was told I needed to pay a service fee for them to come out. And that once I pay the fee, I don?t need to pay it again on this service. I was also explained that the warranty is only for parts and that I have to pay for the labor at $89/hr. I asked if I could get the parts and fix it myself since I have some contractors already at the house and was told no. At this time, the house is a rental and I live about 45 miles away, and I need to coordinate work around these types of appointments. The house is currently empty, so I could not rely upon tenants to be there. When I called, I updated the phone number on the account as it was my ex-husband?s and he is no longer in the picture. I received a call a few days before the appointment where I was told that they did not have my phone number and needed to reschedule. I, again, gave them my phone number and rescheduled. When they came out and looked at the windows for about 5 minutes telling me that they would call me with an estimate. While the service guy was out, he said he did not have my updated phone number. So I gave it to him again. He assured me that he would update it in the computer immediately. A few weeks went by, and I had not heard back about the estimate on my windows so I called. They told me they did not have my phone number to which I then lost it. I gave them my number again and told them this was now the fourth time I have updated my phone number and I?m sick of them saying they don?t have it. I was assured the number was updated in the system this time and at this point I believe it has been. I was told that the parts needed to be ordered and would take several weeks to get. They would call me when the parts came in. They finally called and I scheduled them to come out on Jan 18. I was told that the only appointment I could get would be at 8am, so I had to get up extra early and drive 45 miles to get there. I even asked if they had anything later so that I didn?t have to rush out there so early and was told no. January 18 comes and I get out to the house to meet the service guys. They introduce themselves, etc. and get to work on the windows. Five minutes later the one guy comes to me and says they have a problem ? the decorative pieces are smashed and need to be reordered. After some discussion with him and the person at the office, they are not able to leave the glass, they have to reorder the parts that are broken, and they have to reschedule. Seeing as I had to take off work that day and get myself to the house by 8am, I was a bit livid. After speaking to several people all I get is an ?I?m sorry?. They are not able to give monetary compensation, which I am led to believe includes any discount on anything. On Feb 13, I called to find out the status of my parts as it has now been almost a month and was told that the parts were due to arrive by the next day. I am furious that this is now almost 2 months into this fiasco and tell them the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They could have called to give me an update at some point, but I received nothing. I again receive and ?I?m sorry?, which really set me off. I tell them their sorrys do not make up for all the time, money and energy lost on this. I required that they call me by 4pm on Feb 14 to tell me about the parts or I would be calling. I also informed them I would be leaving a less than satisfactory review on Angie?s List. They called and unfortunately, I was on a work call so I missed them. I called back 15 minutes later and could get NO ONE on the phone. I tried several more times and left a message for them to call me back. I was going to be at the house the next day, so if they could schedule the install for that day it would be ideal. Unfortunately, I heard back from them the next day and now have to wait until March 1 for my install. I would strongly suggest never purchasing windows from these people. I have had nothing but bad service and bad product. Even when they are told they are doing a poor job, they just say sorry and do not say anything about fixing it. The prices are quite high for what you are getting, so please use another company for your windows.

They responded by phone quickly, charge to look at door a lot but replaced it on second try. Work well done, just a lot when door had lifetime guarantee.

They are moderately priced windows and not high end windows. The installation crew is very good. They are very professional, punctual, and skilled people. They are honest and they stand behind their product. They are very good but they are not fantastic.

I am nothing be pleased with me experience with Feldco. Their sales rep, Peter came to my house twice and really took his time showing us the various features of the windows. I will admit he was a bit pushy wanting to close the deal that day and we were hesitant to sign since we still had another appointment scheduled. But when he came off his original price by $500 we agreed. A few days later their engineer inspected the house and went over the project in detail and we set an install date. On the day of the install the crew was punctual, clean, and fast. The install went perfect and we are completely satisfied with all aspects of the job. The windows themselves are outstanding and have done a great job of keeping the cold out even during the polar plunge we just took after Christmas. I have 6 more windows to do in the downstairs of my house and Feldco will be my contractor again.

We had to deal with almost all of the waste left behind. Fortunately the man reroofing our garage hauled most of it away.

The house stayed cold that year, and I ended up in the hospital twice with pneumonia. Every time you call them, they charge you to come out, even when it's to fix their mistakes. The fee they charge to come out ranges from $30 to $600. I shouldn't still be going through this problem. I recently called them on Monday of last week, but to me, they're not a window company because they don't know how to install.

Everything went really well. Windows were installed on time and professionally. They did a great job with the trim work and caulking, too. Very happy.

The installation was fine, but the product is horrible. We got condensation almost immediately on the double hung windows (Feldco said this is normal). I have spoken to others and this should not be normal. It is currently September 2013 and the windows have warped and don't close properly. We are presently getting quotes from other companies to replace the rest of our windows as well the crappy Feldco double hung ones.

The Feldco Representative that came out to give us a free quote and show us the windows that Feldco sells did an excellent job. He was on time, professional, courteous, upfront, friendly and informative. He even sent us an follow-up email to make sure everything went well. I want to also add that I am pleased with the punctuality, professionalism, and excellent service that was performed when our windows were installed. The window Technicians picked-up after themselves and also wiped down the windows. When they were done I inspected the windows and had them show me how to open the windows for cleaning etc...and they did without hesitation. Please give my thanks to the Feldco Representative and the Crew that came out to install the windows. They did an excellent job and they are great at what they do! Thank you, Feldco!! Robert Lopez

we needed new glass not new windows.

Ron Kirk came out and sold us on the windows and we were able to take advantage of the $1 installation cost. Ron measured the windows and placed a Feldco sticker on each window for the Feldco follow up visit. Dan from Feldco stopped by to measure all of the windows and verify dimensions. 2 weeks later, the windows were installed. At first, the installer said that he would be done in 1 day (which was way too much work to do in 1 day). It took them 1.5 days to complete the job. 3 isnatllers were supposed to be onsite but 2 showed up instead. There was touch up caulking that had to be redone and a window screen was bent. The new window screen and touch up caulking was completed within the following 2 weeks. It took them some days to get to the touch up since this was their busiest time of the year. The windows are great! The noise reduction is way better than I could have ever imagined. The Feldco team is very impressive with their superb internal communications. Whenever you relate anything to a single person at Feldco, it is as if you related the info to everyone in the company. They have done a great job satisfying my concerns and over-reactions at times. I have already sold Feldco windows to 2 people I know after they inspected the installation.

When I contacted Feldco I explicitly stated I only need (1) window replaced, is this job too small for you? Their response was no job is too small. For kicks, I also wanted an estimate to replace an old front screen/storm door. Once Neal Levine took the measurements, he asked to go inside my home, which I stated would not work for my family. He then said it would be hard to sign an agreement without going inside on a table to sign the agreement. I told him I had no intention of agreeing to anything as Feldco was one of several estimates I was seeking. Neal then said Feldco would NEVER said him back for only (1) window and (1) door. WHAT? Really a family owned company doesn't appreciate business of any size? I told him we are done and went inside. I read Angie's Lists reviews which stated Feldco had a high pressure sell tactic and should have trusted those reviews. Never again Feldco and I will spread the word. Use the #1 family owned rated windows/siding company on Angie's list...they know how to treat customers/jobs...even the small ones.

The installation at the time was great. Since then, I have paid them $50 for a "service" call to repair a broken window under warranty. They didn't show up twice and were late the third time. No-one returns calls from the service department and nobody has updated me as to when I can expect my replacement window for which I paid $50 for a service call. I was told on 3 seperate occasions that the manager would call me back and he never has. Also, a large screen is torn and they will not make me a new one as they claim "we don't make those screens anymore so we don't support them." They told me to go to a local hardware store; however, the local hardware stores do not repair frames. Bottom line - they are very responsive to sales calls and install quickly. They are TERRIBLE at customer service after installation. NOTE: - the windows are not custom sizes. They will make the casing for the window wider as it is cheaper for them to give you vinyl vs. actual glass. We lost several inches of glass on many windows because they just mad the frame wider. They will not tell you this during the sales pitch.

We like him very much. They were in very quickly to put them up, after we ordered them. We were told that it would take six to eight weeks and they were right. Their installers were very professional. They called a couple of times to see if everything was all right. We also got a thank you note from the salesman.

My wife and I went to the showroom and they were right on it right away. The guy came out within two days and he had a sheet with him that had a warning on it to be cautious just because we are in a bungalow district now. He made a very favorable impression in that respect and said that they didn’t want to jeopardize any clients. The fact that he said that really left a very favorable impression. He was honest and told me he couldn’t sell me vinyl windows and recommended a company that would do it. He was going to check with the city and get back to me though and he said he was still waiting for an answer from the city. So I just gave up now and haven’t researched it further, and that project just went on the back burner temporarily. I am not criticizing in fact I appreciate his honesty. The sales person was honest and conscientious.

I've had them before, this was my second time. This time they've put in windows at the back of the house. This is another provider I like. I like the product. The windows seem to be fairly well made. My complaints about them have been very minor. This time I was a little disappointed in it that I had to clean the windows afterward and last time I had to do nothing. Everything was in and the job was well done. I was happy with the windows, but I had to clean up a lot more mess than I did the last time. I am generally pleased. I most certainly will use them again.

It went well. The repairmen were nice and friendly, they removed my blinds and replaced them after completing the job.

I expected a technician to come and explain the process, take measurements, etc. and leave me with a formal quote. What I got was a salesman who pushed very hard for me to sign a deal that day. When I told him I wanted to get some other estimates, he said "I wish you had gotten your other estimates first." What? When I spoke to the person at the office setting up the appointment, no one mentioned that I should get all my other estimates first! Why? He offered 50% off windows instead of the $1 installation sale, if I would sign "today" which he said would save me more money. When I balked at being pushed to sign the deal and make a deposit, he hinted that there might be additional savings if I let him put a sign in the yard. So what's the real price I asked? He got snippy and wrote a number on a piece of notebook paper and left that with me. Not even a formal company quote. He literally stalked out of the house. I've done lots of work with lots of good and not-to-good contractors. I expect an estimate that includes a materials list, approximate labor hours, extras (Permit costs, e.g.) on a letterhead or some other document that looks professional and includes terms, etc. And I expect that quote or estimate to be valid for at least 14 days. I got a call the next day from the Feldco office asking about my experience and I told the woman my story. She spoke as though this was not their standard protocol and then remarked that her Production Manager could probably get me a better price. WHAT? Again with the games. So I can't comment on their product or workmanship - just their sales process which seems very questionable to me.

Workers were on time and informative. Finished the project and left the home clean.
