Feldco Windows Siding & Doors

After all the windows were installed except the bow windows in the front of the house, and the living room window was removed, it was discovered that there was an error made in the measurement of these 2 windows, and the new window was too small. The installer tried to make it fit by adding additional trim but we were not satisfied with this. The installer remeasured and said new windows would be ordered. We left a message with our salesman, Ryan, who said he would be getting back to us. They had to put in the new window that day because the old window had been demolished upon removing it. We were told they would rush new windows to us. Our salesman told us repeatedly that he wasn't just here to sell us windows and that he would be with us all the way until we were satisfied with the windows. We are very satisfied with the other windows. They look very nice, and seem to be what we expected. Of course, it is July so we will see what the winter brings us. My husband called Ryan on 7/3 to see what the status was on the new windows and he said he will check and get back to us. It is now 7/7, and we have not heard back from him. A couple days after the windows were installed, Nick from Feldco called to see how everything went. He already knew about the incorrect measurements, but I had a concern because the first couple mornings we had windows that were steamed up on the outside. He came up with some lame reason for this, and I asked him to have someone call me who might be more technical. We have never received this call. This issue seems to have resolved itself without their "technical" help. We now have one new window that doesn't fit properly and one old window on the front of our house, and no contact from Feldco. I also requested the handle for the sliding glass door be bronze or brushed nicked because it was installed in brass. We will see if this happens when they come to install the new front windows.

I called to get a quote for windows. The lady that answered began taking all of my information and then we got to setting up a time for an appointment. She asked if anyone else would be involved in making the decision to purchase windows and I said my husband would. She asked if he was going to be there for the appointment and I told her no. She then proceeded to tell me he should be there for the appointment and I told her I was on maternity leave so it would work best to have the appointment during the day while I was home. She then insisted that he should be there for the appointment and said I could make a weekend appointment. I told her that our weekends were very full and I didn't have time for a long appointment and that a daytime appointment would still be best. She AGAIN said my husband should be there for the appointment. Then I asked for clarification - would she not make an appointment of my husband isn't there? She didn't clearly answer my question - she said the reason why he should be there is because, in the past, they have made appointments when only some of the decision makers were home only to find that after the work was completed that the person that wasn't at the appointment was disappointed. I told her I was very capable of relaying all the information to my husband. She still suggested he should be at the appointment. At this point it had been a 15 minute phone call and I was frustrated. I told her never mind and that I would take my business elsewhere. Then she said wait and asked how many windows I would be replacing. I told her that was itrelevant - that they had already lost my business and that I would leave a review for Feldco about the service that I had received. I am very disappointed with Feldco.

At first Feldco seemed amazing! Our sales rep wasn't pushy, he was polite and very informative. We got hooked and paid $1,500 upfront and agreed to finance the rest of the window cost. Next appointment was made for later that week for another staff member to come who would do all of the measuring. Then that's where the snag came in. Our bedroom windows had to have an encasement window and this put a snag into everything including the permit. Feldco didn't do a good job at communicating with us after a third guy came to remeasure this one window in question. Turns out the 2nd guy didn't catch we would need a thicker window at the top of our stairs due to higher traffic pattern and safety. Or that we'd be forced into an encasement window even though our home is over 120 years old. We started our process around October 18th and were told 2-3 weeks from start to finish. Fast forward to many calls later with rude customer service, lies and being told it was our sales rep fault the permit wasn't ready. Poor guy had nothing to do with permitting and I heard he quit shortly after. I don't blame him. I had to find out from the Village of Berwyn that our permit was ready for pick up for WEEKS and Feldco never went to get it. I had no idea Feldco didn't start building our windows till they would pick up the permit. It's now almost Thanksgiving and I'm p*****. I'm getting married on 12.13.14 and wanted new windows. Still waiting, no date yet. Finally days before my wedding I'm told the windows are ready but they couldn't install till mid-January 2015.. WHAT?!? Are you kidding me? What was a 2-3 week process back on Oct 18th is now 3 month disaster. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was livid. Finally someone buy the name of John C. had called and gave me an install date of 12.13.14... SPEECHLESS! Utterly in shock that the customer service rep that I had told very clearly they could install any day any time EXCEPT 12.13.14 didn't convey that info. John C. was speechless too when I told him that was my wedding date and what I had told the customer service rep. He asked if he could call me back and that he was going to fix this. Finally we agreed the Monday after my wedding date. Fine, no issues. The day of the install. The guys arrive, they were nice and polite. Put down drop cloths but apparently they lived in a barn because my front door was left open every chance they could.. Thank god I was home locked in my family room with my dogs. I was freezing cold and had to crank my heat up to 80 degrees. They got mud on my bedroom carpet even with drop cloths... They cut a tree in my alley along the side of my house without my permission (mind you my gutters just got installed three weeks prior.. same area and they didn't need to cut the tree) and never told me about it either. I had to find out later in the day after they left. My kitchen window looks awful with raw wood framing my window and doesn't make any sense. It's like they didn't properly measure the opening and now I have this hideous wood around the window that makes no sense at all. I've conveyed my frustration with the company and have been met with some shock but not sure it's true. The price was right, the people leading up to the install were nice and polite. Even the installers were nice. But boy oh boy.. customer service and communication was AWFUL. Having to call to find out the status update is very frustrating when you put down $1,500 out of a $4k window purchase means you're serious about this deal. Why they dropped the ball is beyond me. Oh and one of our kitchen crank out windows cracked in January and we never opened it after it was installed because it was so cold. They came out and fixed it pretty quickly, felt like a week or two to get the replacement part. So far no issues yet with the windows besides that. But it is cold out after all. Not sure that we'll be using them again. Just not sure.

It was very good. Overall, the product was good, good windows, good siding. Installation was done correctly on time as promised. No problems after that. Just overall a good experience. They were very good.

I didn't have any complaints. They were very professional and they were clean. They made sure everything was clean. They made sure that I knew how to operate the windows. They told me that if I have any problems, I could call them and they'll come back out without a problem. They charged $600 a window. They were pretty simple. They did what they were told to do. They provided a courteous service. They fixed whatever I asked.

Excellent! Done in one day, the two guys were neat clean and courteous but not chatty. They did the job, cleaned up and left. Happy happy! Finance company they use does not let you see your account online and gives you the amount with interest when you call for your balance so you need to keep close track of your account if you plan on paying this off within the 0% period.

First and foremost, I just checked the Better Business Bureau ratings and learned that Feldco has an "F" rating from the BBB. This is both for dozens of unresolved service issues and deceptive advertising practices. Stay away from this one folks.... We purchased an exterior door with a high-end lock set from Feldco. The lock failed while covered under warranty. Lock is for the main front door to our home so its failure creates a security issue for us. Contacted Feldco, explained the issue in detail and was told it would take 3 days to get a tech there to repair the issue. Not ideal due to the security issue, but we agreed. Technician came 3 days later and was at our home for literally one minute. Looked at the issue and said 'yep, that is broken, we need to order parts. They may be in stock within 2 weeks and we'll call then to set an appointment to install'. Then he left. Called a manger to complain and they said nothing could be done because Feldco stocks no parts on their products in anticipation of warranty repairs. Everything has to come on special order from an outside manufacturer. To be clear - NO parts stocked... not on even the most common of the products they sell and not even on exterior door locks where it is reasonable to believe a security issue would exist for a client when a lock fails. This is the explanation received from a manager of one of the largest sellers in the Chicago area. So in reality, Feldco has no actual warranty for any item they sell when a time sensitive repair is needed - this is so because if your item fails, you will be forced to call another business to get the item repaired quickly (ex: a locksmith - a business who DOES understand client needs and therefore keeps parts in stock).

We are satisfied. Everything so far has went good. We have used them in the past and are happy with them.

From three bidders this was the most reasonable pricing with flexible windows options to make the deal. Offered alternatives that impacted pricing to meet our needs. Fast turnaround, better then expected. The installers was a great team and cleaned up job site considering the circumstances. A foreclosure being rehab as a second home. The team installed 39 windows, great job would highly use them again. Warranty, product and installers, would highly recommend. Will use again should the opportunity present, actually one more big window to do.

We had a new patio door installed earlier this summer and there aren't enough positive adjectives to describe our experience with Feldco. From scheduling the initial estimate to installation day. EVERYONE I spoke with or who was involved with our project was friendly, efficient, professional...I will continue to recommend Feldco whenever I have the opportunity. I told our management office how happy we were. Hopefully you'll get some future business. Thanks for the great customer service!! BTW...we love the new screen and door!!!

The window installers by far were two of the hardest working men I have seen. They worked non stop the entire day and into the night. They did a wonderful job and our new windows look great. We have received many compliments.

Work was done according to quote. In and out in other a day. The price was slightly higher than other companies we spoke to but they had a financing deal that made it worth it for us.

They were pretty good and I didn't have any problems. They did a good job on the windows.

Due to heavy traffic Mr. Portera called and explained it would take him a little longer to arrive to our appointment. I understood and appreciated his call. Once he arrived he provided his Feldco ID to assure us he was legit. (My father is over 90 years old and this is a concern of ours.) He gave us the detailed history of Feldco, he also was equipped with an actual sample of a window. He carefully explained how the windows were crafted, each feature and how they would help us conserve energy. He also showed us options available. Mr. Portera also took the time to let us know how the installation process worked. He called the office to get a date for installation, once confirmed he gave us his business card to call him directly with any problems or concerns. The installers were prompt in arriving the day of installation. I would have rated them an A on professionalism if they had not accidentally stepped on the telephone jack tearing it from the wall. But accidents do happen.

They are a local company that deals with windows and siding. They are really good, they are prompt, they are courteous, they cleaned up after themselves, and they did good work. Both my wife and I thought the price was very reasonable. The salesman was very courteous, and there was not high pressure. They were very good.

They completed the installation within 4-5 hours. The technician was good.

We shopped around a bit for replacement windows for our home, and Feldco had the best combination of value and quality among a few similar providers. They were affordable but well constructed, and the installation went great. We're very happy with the final product and would use them again.

fine. the various people were scheduled for different dates and times and were generally "over punctual" - too early!!! I had a problem with the front door lock which was getting increasingly hard to lock the deadbolt. Last week it would not go into the slot-lock, I could only use the latch lock. I called them immediately and they came out the next day. The re-hung the door on it's hinges and said there was some misalignment.! It is working fine since! Their responsiveness is great! The door was installed last fall, I believe in November. The windows and doors are much better than those I had and I now do not have bad drafts (or ANY drafts)!!!

They quoted us and gave us a time, they came and did the work and we are happy with what they did. It was a pleasant experience.

They were prompt, professional, and helpful. Cleaned everything after install. I don't like that the installers smoked on the job. Price was fair. Overall, pleased and I love my new windows- worst Chicago winter in years and these windows got an A+!!!

They showed up when they said they would. They did them all in a day. I have not had one single problem. They were fantastic. They aren’t very expensive, but they’ve been perfect for us. I would highly recommend them. They cleaned up EVERYTHING.
