Feldco Windows Siding & Doors

I found their name through Angie's List. I was quite pleased with their honesty, hard work and timeliness. Unfortunately, I do not recall the cost. I would definitely recommend them to others as I was quite pleased with their work performance.

I would give him a B on professionalism because he said it was one price, but then he kept bringing it down. I didn t know if we were really getting the best price. They did everything pretty quickly.

Extremely high pressure salesman. Never even wanted to measure the windows unless he knew we would commit to a sale that day before he left. Refused to speak to my husband about the quote or the product unless I was present. I personally have no interest in seeing the windows and was satisfied my husband could make a decision without my help. This company has lost any chance of any future business we may have with them because of the high pressure tactics.

Will came out to give us an estimate. He was very courteous, but presented a very hard sell, offering us discounts if we signed the dotted line that very moment. We personally were not bothered by this, and due to the fair price we opted to go with them. It was about one month's time between ordering and installation, two weeks faster than they had predicted. The crew was pleasant and cleaned up well after themselves. We did run into a brief communication issue with them regarding the interior casements but it was resolved quickly and without incident. A rep from Feldco called us several weeks after the install to make sure that we were happy with the new windows - we are.

Three weeks after ordering, a team of three arrived early to install. They did an excellent job, were neat and very professional. One window glass was broken, during installation and was replaced three weeks later, in five minutes.

Amazing is not the word. They were better. They were there on time, worked their tails off, cleaned up after themselves well and were incredibly clean, professional, pleasant and really wanted us to be happy. The windows and doors are beautiful and the neighbors are calling them next. Most impressive was the inspector showing up at the end of the day, watching 12 people clean windows at the end of the job (inside and out) and not one but two follow up phone calls to make sure we were happy (one for windows and one for doors). All in all, an A+ experience and very pleased with the product, service, installation and treatment.

The Feldco rep made me feel like I was shopping for a used car in my living room. The rep did not want to perform the presentation without my husband present, but did so with the knowledge that windows would not be purchased without my consent. The presentation lasted two unnecessary hours, during which I was shown a substandard window, which I later found out, is no longer produced by anyone in the industry. I was also told this was the window, for which the advertised deal applied. After the rep presented the 'real' window with all of the bells and whistles, he wrote up an estimate which contained a 'retail price' and a lower 'special price' if I signed up that day. When I stated that I would not purchase on that day, he proceeded to write up a contract and attempted to talk me into signing it, making me very uncomfortable. I have already advised friends and family not to invite Feldco into their homes. I am now offering the same advice to the users of Angie's List.

Salesperson was pleasant and informative without being patronizing. They sent someone to check measurements. Everything was punctual and timely. I am extremely happy with the windows and have had absolutely no sticking or problems of any kind.

When getting estimates for windows, FELDCO was our first contact. After 3 additional contractors estimates, all were within $200.00 to $400.00 dollars of each other for the total job. After about a week, a representative from FELDCO's "Commercial Division" contacted me and I was offered the windows and installation at approximately $1300 dollars off original quote. I liked the "Sophia Series" premium window that FELDCO offers over the other windows we had looked at, so we went with FELDCO. Four days after the order, the exact measurements were taken, and a 4-6 week factory production time was quoted. We got a call two weeks later and all windows were ready and could be installed the next day! Two installers arrived before 8 AM, two additional men came that afternoon to assist with trim. All windows and trim done in 8-9 hours. Very courteous, professional, and neat workers. These men know their trade and are craftsmen! The job went extremely well!

I'm satisfied overall, but the price seemed a little high. There was also a communication problem with Feldco and the financing company about the 90 day same as cash offer. Feldco told me one thing and the finance company told me another.

Very prompt and responsive company to deal with. They were on time to install, and finished very quickly.

The woman that answered the phone asked for my husband's name which I provided. She then refused to schedule an appointment. Unless my husband would be there and stating it was company policy. I assured her that I was the sole decision maker on this project. I have been in the real estate business for 20 yrs and am always the decision maker in our family for this type of thing. She refused to schedule an appointment. Unless my husband could be present. Furthermore, I sent an email to Feldco assuming that they were unaware that she was turning away business. I received an email back from someone saying that I needed to call their Sales Mgr. if I did not like their policy. I suggested that their Sales Mgr. contact me if they were interested. I never heard from them. Needless to say, I have contracted another company for this project. My husband was not involved in the decision. Of course, I could never refer Feldco to our clients or anyone else for that matter.

Salesman was a bit pushy, very used car salesman-like. Window install went well. However, they are not that great at honoring the warranty. Everytime I have a warranty issue, I have to prove my warranty eligibility. In fact, last time, the manager said he wouldn't honor my warranty unless I faxed him all of the paperwork associated with the sale. I had to prove that my product was covered by the warranty, instead of them noting it in the system that my product was covered. They had no problem taking my money, but they hate to come out to fix their windows.

The sales person shoved a contract in my face. We told them we were not ready to sign a contract. He was persistent to have us sign a contract that day. They were knocking other companies. He would not give us a clear answer on anything. They are still calling me, and I already have my windows done.

I was pleased with their work. The salesman came over when he promised to. He explained how their windows were constructed and why he thought it was a better product. He explained the additional options available and the costs. For example, I wanted frosted glass for one of the windows. He explained the prices, delivery, installation and my customer rights. I found their prices very competitive with the other bids I got. The salesman and his company both sent me notes thanking me for my business. The installers came when they said they would. The were friendly and efficient. They cleaned up when they finished. The company called me afterwards to find out if I was satisifed with the work.

I called Feldco to come out for an estimate on new siding. Our appointment was on a Monday. They called Sunday afternoon to ensure that both me and my wife would be home. After they were told that we would both not be there, they said they would not come, and the woman was very rude! This is a high pressure sales tactic to ensure that both homeowners are home to sign the contract. My husband told them that this was ridiculous and that we just wanted an estimate, and the woman became very snotty. Don't Waste Your Time! We've decided to call other contracts who don't require both husband and wife to be home.

The process went very smoothly and in a very timely manner. I believe having the work done in late spring or even during the summer when the demand is not as high is a prudent approach for the customer. The sale was excellent, and the personel I dealt with was very professional.

I got three bids, and Feldco was actually the least expensive for what we wanted. If you walk into the showroom, you automatically get a 20 percent discount. I don't think you get a discount over what Angie's list offers; so for example, you wouldn't get 40 percent if A.L. offers 20 and walk-in offers 20. Anyway, they sent two guys out, and they worked hard all day. They made a little mess and did all work from the inside. I gave them lunch and lots of water, so they could make it through the end of the day. One screen didn't fit, and I called Feldco to get it replaced. The workers were supposed to tell them, but I guess they didn't. I expected Feldco to call the next day or so to see how the job went, and they waited about a week and a half. I love these windows. They are absolutely terrific. If you're thinking about replacing your windows, do it. It's worth the investment, and you will be so happy.

I asked Feldco for a quote on installing 12 windows in a rental property in Elk Grove. They measured and told me I had to come in to get the quote - they wouldn't give me the quote over the phone which I wanted. They were thorough in explaining everything and quoted me $7700. I called and left a message a week later that I had chosen someone else and their ''production'' manager called me a couple times leaving a message saying they could reduce the price more. I told them I had picked someone else.

I called Feldco & asked if they could have someone come out to correct this mistake, and the receptionist said she would schedule a work appointment for the following week. It was a no-show. I called back for a new appointment which again turned out to be blown off by the workers. (No one even called to cancel) After 1 more reschedule & 1 more no-show, I spoke to a Feldco supervisor who said he would try to send someone out in a few days but he couldn't guarantee that the guy would be able to fix the error (if there was one) that same day. When the worker finally arrived, he confirmed that the work had been measured incorrectly. He said the reason for this was that we didn't tell him that a screen door had to go BACK on the frame. It was fixed 3 days later. All in all, the windows that Feldco put in turned out OK, but after this door frame experience I would never use Felco again. Reason: If it's that much trouble to get a mistake corrected, I wouldn't want to take that risk.

The rep from Feldco was very unprofessional. His presentation of the product and pricing took 2 hrs of our time. Then at the end he asked us if we would sign and contract today because this would be his third sale of the day and this would earn him an extra $50. The Rep reminded me of a car salesman.

Originally everything was fine. After that the windows started leaking and had to have 8 service calls within 6 months. They're professional on the phone and in person. Finally fixed problem, but after 8 times.

Initial sales call was not great due to a bit of a personality conflict, which is the only reason why I gave them a B overall. But everything after that went well. All of the people we dealt with after that were good. They did a good job on the installation and they followed through on everything they said they would do.

The salesman was professional and extremely detailed. He took a great deal of time explaining the windows and showing a sample. The installers were very professional, working into the evening on cold wintry days. The contract was signed on 10/7/05 and the salesman admitted the windows probably would not be installed by Thanksgiving as originally indicated, but they would most certainly be in by the end of November. The installation was not until December after we had called to check on the status of the order, and the attic windows were not as ordered. Feldco did rectify the situation in a timely manner, although the installer did not show up on the day of the first appointment. After several calls to the salesman and the scheduler, the appointment was rescheduled and the attic windows were replaced. Overall, the company did a good job. Our complaints were with the delay in installation and a lack of communication due to the company misreading our phone number on the paperwork.

The salesman called a few times even though we said we weren't ready to have them come yet and when he did come he didn't have a color brochure or any samples of the material. He only had some tiny black and white pictures. So the whole visit was a waste and he put the brochures in our mailbox the next day. Thought the prices were kind of high. Decided to not go with them and will keep looking.
