Feldco Windows Siding & Doors

My patio door needed to be replaced before winter. I had one other estimate from a local contractor that I was not pleased with. Not being from the area I was hesitant on who to call. That evening after the first estimate I was watching t.v and a Feldco ad came on advertising free install with purchase before Labor Day. The next day I submitted my info online and an agent called me within 15 minutes. I set up an appointment a few days later with a very knowledgable salesman. He answered all my questions about the company, the products, and the ability to finance my purchase. He also assisted me in making my choices on color and style that would best suit my home. A few days later another gentleman came to do final measurements and answered additional questions I had regarding the install. Because the doors are custom made for you, it took a few weeks to get it installed. The installation went very well! The installer was very careful, clean, courteous and efficient. He was running a bit late as his last job took a bit longer. He called me right away to let me know he'd be 30 minutes late. Which did not inconvenience me at all. The full tear out of the old door and install and clean up took 4 hrs. He was also very knowledgable about the door and showed me the mechanics and how to use it. The next day I noticed the secondary lock wasn't functioning properly. Because everything had "settled", it was no longer aligned. I called Feldo and they had someone out the next business day to adjust it. Everything's perfect now and I love my new patio door.

She went through the questionnaire for doing the job. At the end of the call she insists that my wife be here as well for them to provide the estimate. When I say that I can make the decision by myself she still insisted that my wife be here, too. She then referred me to a local distributor and said maybe someone from there could come to the house to provide an estimate. It is my feeling that they do this to pressure you into buying things. Please read all reviews from Angie's List members before calling this company.

A very positive experience. I worked with the Des Plaines office. They under promise and over-deliver. Original lead time was 4 - 6 weeks, my sindows were in at 3 weeks. They were half the price of other estimates and were up front about telling me I didn't need wood replaced, and if they were wrong, they would pay for it.

The work was good and they came on time. I wasn't pleased with some of the caullking to begin with, but came back out to make it satisfactory with no problem.

Salesman was great he went thru everything I needed to know about window. The appointment was set up over the phone by salesman for a final measure and I was to call the day before top confirm but they didn't have me on schedule, I had changed plans to accomidate this so plans had to be changed. Measurement went fine was told 6 to 8 weeks for delivery called my salesman after 7 weeks he checked and said window was in warehouse and they would be calling me for installation, a week went by no call so called him back finally someone called me for install. The install went ok they accomitaed me as i work second shift. The only problem I had with installer was there was a bow in the top of middle window He knew this but wasn't going to do anything about it till I told him, he said yeah He noticed that but again did nothing about it untill I sad something.

I'd priced doors at large-box retailers and was surprised that Feldco had such an expensive product. Their online reviews were wonderful, and the door seemed to be quite sturdy, so I contracted them. Their installers were courteous, detail oriented, and exceeded my expectations. They even realigned a few patio bricks on the step near the door when they were done. They completely cleaned up the mess from installation and did everything they could to ensure that I was pleased with the service. I'll certainly use this Feldco again. The door is beautiful and the cost now seems minimal compared to the quality of the door and installation they performed. I've had doors installed by the big box people in the past and never experienced the degree of satisfaction I have from this Feldco installation. It's true, you do get what you pay for and I am very pleased!

The sales man was helpful in suggesting larger windows in place of transim windows and double hung windows. Huge money savings there, plus they give just as much light into the room. Feldco sends out a sales person, then you set up an appointment for a second measure, then you wait 3-5 weeks for product, then I made an installation appointment in which I was able to get an appointment within a few days of the call. I was not given a time frame on duration of installing the windows or the door, but it took one full day to replace two double hung windows and one full day to replace a sliding door. I have enjoyed the quality of the products during the Chicago winter months. Feldco is currently hired to replace windows in the condo building I live in.

A polite gentleman took all of my information over the phone to set up a profile and an appointment. Then one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of casually came up.... THEY WOULD NOT SET UP AN APPOINTMENT UNLESS BOTH ME AND MY WIFE ARE PRESENT. How can anybody do business this way? It shouldn't matter that she works during the best times for appointments. It shouldn't matter if she is out of the country for a few weeks. No situation with our schedule should matter to them. We are TRYING TO BUY WINDOWS from them. It's really none of their business whether or not I'm married in the first place. I could have said I was single and things would have been smooth? I WILL TELL EVERYBODY I KNOW ABOUT THIS RIDICULOUS RULE OF THEIRS. They should be embarrassed by such a practice. Every time I see that jingle on TV I'm going to have a story to tell....and hopefully dissuade anybody from giving their money to Feldco.

The sales person came out and gave a rough estimate, then needed my husband here as well to give a written estimate and book the date to avoid wasted time on work that would not be done. This was slightly annoying, but I understand as the items are expensive. The salesperson was very informed and I feel advised us correctly and well. The installation was great. They craftsmen were punctual and were here the majority of 6 hrs for 1 window and door. They had to work with some damaged wood as the previous door and window were defective and water damage had occurred. There were also ants that had taken up residence in the doorjam that they dealt with. My only complaint is that the original window frame was about an inch too short and did not meet in the middle after the window was complete. This provided access for the ants again. However I did not call them back, and sealed it up myself. I plan to have them in to replace 2 more doors very soon.

Staff here is very poorly trained regarding the services that they offer. I explained that I needed a window on a commercial storefront replaced. Over two days 3 different people called me to ask about the job, get details, etc. Each time at the end of the conversation they informed me that they don't do this type of work but the other department that does will call me. Why keep calling me back and leading me on when you don't do this type of work? Complete waste of time dealing with this company.

Great no surprises and work was completed on time with as little inconvience as possible

I have no complaints and if I had to have windows installed again I would use them.

All we wanted was a rough estimate to replace the original windows from our 1950's Georgian.What we got instead was what felt like a car salesman's speech.Pete right away told us that he was going to "cut us a deal" if we act "now", and I was in no position to do so - which is why we needed the estimate, and the opportunity to compare to other companies.He proceeded to give us a speech on the reputation of the company, yada, yada yada...but all I was interested in was a ballpark figure,When we called another company, we got a straight up estimate in about 30 minutes. Pete was going to give us full-fledged presentation that would have taken at least 2 hours, had I not cut him off.And reading through these threads, I just learned that they don't do repairs??? What kind of horse-bleep is that??? Good riddance.

called to get an estimate and was told they would only come out if both home owners were present for the estimate. With a husband that works long hours, this is a ridiculous requirement in order to do an estimate. We won't be using Feldco!

They contacted me to inform me that they do not provide repair services on existing windows.

The Feldco representative was on time and very professional. He informed me that I didn't quite have the room on my frame for an additional set of doors, and he said that if I went forward with it, it probably wouldn't look right. I felt this was an honest assessment, as he may have been able to sell me on something that wouldn't have turned out well if he really wanted to. He instead suggested another set of french doors (if I really wanted to go this route), and offered additional insulation suggestions. The price he quoted for two sets of french doors was $3000, which seemed very reasonable to me. I also mentioned the quote to my locksmith (who also installs doors) and he thought it sounded very reasonable as well (much less expensive than he would have predicted, actually). I mulled this over for quite a while but ultimately decided against the project, since it wasn't quite what I originally had in mind and there were a couple other small options with the doors that didn't appear to be available. However I do plan on consulting Feldco again in the fall about improving insulation, and will probably have them perform any work I have done. There is also still a small chance I'll contact them again about the french door project, if I change my mind. P.S.: Sorry I don't recall the name of the Feldco rep that gave me the estimate. Whoever is reviewing this from Feldco, feel free to respond to this review with the rep's name. He did a great job putting together the estimate and really seemed to know the products very well.

The initial appointment with the sales rep Anthony was great. The installers were here on time and worked constantly and efficiently. Wood around some windows was in bad shape and needed replacing which turned the one day job into two but was completed in a clean, considerate and professional manner. A rep visited our home during the process to confirm what extra was needed and why which we appreciated and at no additional cost to us. We love the finished product. Thank you Feldco!

They came when they said they would and did the work they said they would. The windows did fine through the winter. We haven't had the windows for quite a year yet, but we don't have any complaints.

They were more responsive than other companies I looked into. Service went well but was a little disappointed in the price but since they were more responsive I decided to go with them. When they did the final measurement and when the installers came, they both were late but did call and were professional. I also decided to go with them since they have been in for longer than other companies.

They were very good. They installed the doors. We thought there might be a problem, but they came out and resolved the issues.

The work turned out really well. I’m going to use them again. They did a good job and I have been really happy with them.

It was great. They were really nice. They were in and out of the house quickly and they cleaned up well after themselves. We would use them again.

It has always gone very well. They are competitively priced. When they did the work the different times, the crews were always nice, clean, and thorough. They got the work done when they said they would get it done. Once they were finished, they cleaned up so well, that it didn’t even seem like they had been there. We haven’t had any problems with them and I haven’t had to ask to come back for any repair work

I have not been happy. I am waiting on my third set of windows to arrive to see if they are more of what I am looking for. They had sent out multiple people, including the owner, to measure and figure out what it was I was looking for and wanted and still haven’t been able to get it right.
