EU Flooring

It went perfectly. Not only is the new flooring absolutely seamless with the old floors-- everything looks fantastic. He was flexible with his schedule and very responsive to all communication -- it was wonderful working with him and he consistently made sure I understood the process and was happy every step of the way.

I didn’t go with the deal. I wanted him to do something different than what the deal entailed, it wasn’t his fault

The job went fabulous and without a hitch. Corneliu came two weeks before to give us a quote which was less then previous quotes we had given to us. I was impressed with the Angie's list reviews on his company so called him for a quote. He proceeded to give me two names of "live" referrences I could call and both gave him nothing but praise. Corneliu was here promptly to perform the work and told us how long it would take and what the process involved. He was very accomodating with helping us pick out a stain and when none of the 4 stains he put down as samples appealed to us we asked if he could just do a clear oil polycoat and he did. We absolutely love the look, the quality, and the timeliness. He was very easy to contact and was on the job daily and got back to us by text or call whenever we had a quesion or concern. His work was very nondisruptive, clean, professional, thorough, and quick. We had all the furniture from our living room, kitchen, and dining room previously moved out of the space for him (1000 plus square feet of open space) He came in on a Monday and was out by Thursday so it took him 3 full days with one day drying time between coats to dry. We would highly recommend him and would use him again in the future.

They came out and indicated they couldn’t do anything for us as the floor goes across four rooms and we can’t proceed because it involves our kitchen and living areas and we wouldn’t have access to these areas for about three days. They have provided a quote to do all four rooms.

Not good. The only thing that was positive about the experience was they were always on time. Cornelius came over and took the measurements and told me I needed 650 SF of tiles, I told him which store I was purchasing the tile from and he was to pick it up on the day of installation. During the time they were pulling up the old lamented flooring, I was concern about the condition of the sub floor. He told me the stab flooring was not even. I asked him will they be able to level the floor with the thinset used for tiling. He kept pointing out all the unevenness of the flooring. As the worker was lying down the tile he told me he was having a hard time making sure the tiles were even and there are no bumps. He told me if I find any once it dried let him know and he will pull it up. Once the tiles were dry in the living room I noticed some of the times were raised a little. I told the worker and now instead of pulling the tile up like he promised he just gave me an explanation as to why there will be some bumps in some of the tiles. (meaning some of the tiles will be raised a little) He told me there is nothing he came do since the slab was uneven. After doing some research, I realized I was not given the opportunity and/or have the conversation about correcting the stab flooring. I was told there was nothing I can do. According to experts, when stab floors is not flat you can use some type of chemical call leveling compound Why was I not given the opportunity to have this compound placed on the slab so I won?t feel the bumps in the tile (tiles are not even). As it stands I have to walk on uneven floors. I am not happy Next apparently either he didn?t take the correct measurements are too much was applied to the flooring. We had to constantly go back and forth for more product: thinset (2x), grout, tiles and sealer. Since I wanted my tiles close together, I purcashed unsanded grout and I purchased the sealant for the grout. All the products were there from day one. While they were tiling, I was told since the floor was not even it is better to tile with gaps between the tiles instead of having them close together. I was told I needed to change the grout from unsanded grout to sanded grout and I needed more thinset. At the end of day two I was told I need more thinset and grout. Day 3 I was told I need more thinset, grout and 4 boxes of tile. I was also told that the sealer I purchased was the wrong type. I didn?t understand this since the sealer has been there since the first day and now they decided to tell me. Counlus told me I had to go out and get it because his crew is not coming back just to put the sealer on. I explained to him I can not leave the house. He could care less. So I called the store and told them the situation, the manager was so kind he had one of his employees to come to my house and bring the right type of sealer. My contact stated they will do the labor while I supply the material. At the time of the contract I asked how long will this take and he told me 3-4 days. We were only on day 3. I felt he did this to me because I pay him the full amount after they finished on day one (no choice ran out of checks). He told me since he is part of Angie list he won?t run off. Well a lot of things were not done and I had called him on it including a broken refrigerator door handle which his workers claimed they didn?t break it. I need my receipts. There are lots of smudges on the walls and baseboards that need to be cleaned up. One of your workers told me some of the smudges can not come off it is dried up in the paint. If this is so, someone is going to have to buy the paint and touch up all the areas. I am every upset about the grouting around the toilet and sink. One of your workers approached me about caulking around the sink and toilet. I gave him the caulking gun and the caulking. Why is the black grout real thick around those areas looking very bad. This needs to be taken care of. I told your workers that the washer and dryer placement was wrong and that both appliances need to be pushed all the way to the right wall. I have mops and brooms that goes on the left side of the appliances. Your workers told me they will handle the placement of the appliances when they move the appliances to seal the grout in that area. Did they seal the grout in that area because the appliances were not moved. This needs to be handled. I found my refrigerator door handle broken and your guys claimed they didn?t do it. I know the handle was not broken prior to them moving the refrigerator from the living room back to the kitchen. I had not been able to go back to the kitchen until the floor dried in that area and that is when I found the handle broken. This has to be address. When they moved my TV back, they didn?t put back the cable nor push it back towards the wall (tack the cable wire to the baseboard. I guess the floors were wet because they left from the back door). This needs to be handled. In the kitchen part of the baseboard is missing? My security stick for my back door is missing a bolt Wasn?t there some type of molding at both the front and back doors. I believe the molding was dark brown You and I talked about the floors may not be even. I asked you can you even it out using thinset or something. As your workers were laying down the tile, I was told the tile will not be even and let him know and he will take it off are reapply. When I pointed to him tiles that were not even (bump) he told me it was the flooring and he could not do anything about it. This did make sense to me so I researched it. The owner provided very fast and courteous communication when giving me the price for the job. i found the quote to be very reasonable. I called on a wednesday and was able to schedule for that friday. They arrived on time and quickly went to work. The owner was extremely courteous and professional. They replaced two sections of hardwood that had been crudely patched, sanded the entire floor, filled all the cracks, and then sanded again. 3 coats of finish were then applied. They were very quick and were done within 4 or 5 hours. It totally brought the room back to life! We could not be happier with the work and the end result!

It went well; however, I felt it was pricey!

Cornell & EU hardwood were wonderful. Gave a fair quote, setup a time, and arrived promptly. They said it might take two days up front, but ended up finishing everything in one day! The floor looks VERY good. We had some burn damage and he was able to sand out that portion. They remove the quarter-round moldings (even in the small spaces like the pantry) and sand up to the wall. Also around the toilet, they hand sanded everything to ensure all old varnish was removed. Cornell also knows what he is doing - suggesting that I not change the color too much from the old - since the hardwood has a small bezel in the middle and was not able to sand all the way down. Suggesting that I'd be unhappy with a darker 'line' in the middle - he proved to be right! The floors look great! Three coats of sealant and a drying time overnight left the floors ready to use the next morning. If you are even THINKING about getting your floors redone - call EU hardwood and get a quote. They do a great job, are reasonably priced, and work fast! Joe Brookhaven, GA

He warned me that this was a temporary measure, that the floor would be protected and look shiny for about a year, but it wasn't a full refinish or reseal. He said I need a refinish of floor and offered to do it in the future. I got what I paid for. Ultimately, after 10 years of neglecting the floors, we have to replace them since it's engineered wood floors. There's nothing he or anyone else could have done to prevent that.

They were efficient and professional. It was a very seamless process.

Did a great job -- I would use him again.

I had an emergency that came up today and I cannot see them tomorrow, so I called to reschedule for next week.

I purchased a deal from Angie's List as a gift for my sister who needed to quickly prepare her home for moving. My sister made contact with EU Hardwood and they came out to do the job the very next morning. They were promptly on time and they completed the task in a beautiful and professional manner even earlier than they had promised. The floor look fantastic. I can hardly wait to get them out to my home to redo all of my hardwood floors. I recommend EU Hardwood, strongly! After they left, they called on the very next day, which was a Saturday, to make sure that my sister was 100% satisfied. Of course she was and she very much appreciated the call.

Cornel Balan gave me a competitive estimate on Friday, October 24, and came to do the work the following Tuesday. He sanded, sealed and applied three finish coats to two rooms, plus doing some touch-up work in an entryway, all in one day. When we observed later that the definition of "satin finish" can differ somewhat between manufacturers, Mr. Balan came back and added another coat of semi-gloss polyurethane to the floors to ensure that they matched other floors in the house more closely. He was happy to provide this additional coat at no extra cost. I helped myself by removing old carpet and shoe molding so that Mr. Balan could go to work immediately on the floors. He took this into account in his pricing and gave me a very competitive rate. I am delighted with the final outcome. It is not easy to refinish floors in adjacent rooms on different timetables and have them look like they fit together, but Mr. Balan's work in this regard was exemplary.

Cornel and his partner were great. They were on time, did a great job, and took away all the old wood once the job was finished. Cornel gave me a good price - I didn't do too much in comparing prices since his reviews were so good on Angie's list and I had been given a quote a few years ago for the same job and it was very close to the price Cornell gave me. I was also pleased that he could squeeze me into his schedule in a very short time. My floors look brand new!

After on site inspection I was advised that the company couldn't really do the installation I wanted.

After receiving a few quotes from hardwood flooring companies, I chose EU Hardwood Floors not only for their moderate fee but for his knowledge of the process. Cornel made me feel very comfortable every step of the way. I had to travel for business the week my hardwood floors were being refinished. I felt very comfortable with them being in my home in my absence. When I returned, I was pleasantly surprised that my floors looked brand new! I did not expect this turnout as they were in very bad shape. I would highly recommend EU Hardwood Floors to my family and friends and anyone who is looking to refinish their floors. Cornel was great! He worked with me in determining the best solution to fixing up the back office floor, was considerate of my budgetary concerns, and offered the most appropriate advice. Additionally he got the job scheduled and done quickly in spite of my barrage of inquiries about the options available.

I went with EU Floors for our flooring project based on the reviews I had read on Angie's List. I am so glad that we did. We are so happy with our experience with Corneliu and his crew. Corneliu came out on a Sunday afternoon to give me an estimate and walk me through the process. He listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered!!! The floors were matched perfectly and we are so pleased with the end result. Corneliu was responsive and focused on customer service, they were punctual, professional and very clean. Throughout the process, the job site was left clean and by the end of the job there was very little dust and no signs of old carpet and/or nails. I would HIGHLY recommend EU Floors to anyone. We will also be using them in the near future for other flooring projects.

Cornel did a fantastic job!! Reasonable price that he quoted up front. Hardwood floors had been paint-spattered and then covered with carpet for years and years. Now they look brand new!

Corneliu and his team showed up quickly, got started right away, and did a great job restoring the floors to almost new condition. I haven't had any dust issues, and they were very good about cleaning up the area before and after they polished. They also ended up calling me to ask if I wanted them to add the shoe molding, which they did for very little extra money. I will definitely call them again and would recommend them to my friends without hesitation.

Corneliu arrived prompt to start the project, and finished up for the day in time so that we could go about our normal routine. He removed the existing carpet, leveled the first floor, installed hardwood floors on the main level. On the stairs and landing, he removed the carpet and installed hardwood flooring. Corneliu was here performing the work with his guys everyday. He and his team were extremely polite and courteous throughout the project.. The floors are smooth, the perfect shade of walnut and absolutely stunning! Corneliu went above and beyond to make the experience smooth and easy for our family. I'm already thinking of other rooms to have hardwood floors installed! I would highly recommend EU Hardwoods to anyone that is thinking about installing hardwood floors!

Sanded and refinished floors. Cornel came out to provide us a quote on a Sunday morning. He was extremely professional and scheduled us out for a few weeks later. They came to do the floors and even helped move a couple of items we missed (Fridge and wine fridge). They worked to the schedule he laid out and the floors looked great. One of our dogs accidentally scratched the floor two days later, and Cornel and his team came out to apply one more coat for us. The floors look great and we'll use his company again in the future.

The provider responded within 24 hours of my call to schedule an appointment and scheduled the service visit within days. He arrived promptly at the promised hour. The result of his work was a much better finish on the floor. However, there was obviously sawdust resulting from the sanding in the crevices between the individual boards when he finished leaving light brown streaking among the cherry boards. I inquired as to whether this was going to be an ongoing issue. He replied that it wouldn't be once the the seal coat had dried and we could wash the floor. We've subsequently done so and the sawdust remains. So, he was either not knowledgeable or not truthful. Disappointing!

It went well. There were a couple of spots but I expected that. He worked with the pricing. He was very prompt. We scheduled it quickly and was able to get the project started right away. Update: The spots turned out to be mishaps with the painter, he came back out and sanded by hand and refinished those spots, and it looks great. A great experience and I would highly recommend him to anyone with a floor that needs resurfacing!
