Description of Work: The service was for the replacement of my locksets on my sliding doors. The original quote I received was astronomical and inferred ~$100/hr in labor. After a few back and forth conversations we settled on a price just under $500. |To their credit, ET was very helpful and responsive in working with me on the scheduling of the appointment. |On the day of the service, there were a few issues. The gentlemen did not have all the hardware required which resulted in ~45min exercise to go procure the required hardware. Additionally, the scope of the job was vastly incorrect. We were told to expect about 2 hours and the job took 5.5 hours to complete. Additionally, the work included drilling holes into my sliding door, which is fine; however, there was no plan to fill those holes. I asked the workman about it and he came up with an idea of caulking the holes. If I had not asked, I'm nearly certain they were planning on leaving holes in my sliding door. They arrived shortly after 8am and left shortly before 2pm. I had to cancel appointments I had made at noon, assuming that a 2 hour cushion on the time I was quoted would be sufficient. For the record, the workman that did come to my place was very nice, explained what he was doing and why and generally good at his job - he just didn't have all the hardware required and mis-diagnosed the amount of time the job would take.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for $35. They charged about $100 an hour and applied the cost of the deal toward the total. They could not tell me how much the job would cost without coming out first.

Description of Work: Our house cleaner's key got stuck in the front door of our condo building and we had no luck getting it out. I called ET and they sent out a person within an hour or so. Adam freed the lock from the time I buzzed him in to when I made it downstairs. Once the lock was freed he disassembled the lock and found that a couple screws in the back had come loose with time. He tightened the screws, installed the cylinder, and everything is as good as new. All took ten minutes at most.

Description of Work: They replaced two door knobs and locks as well as two deadbolt cylinders and locks.

Description of Work: It took over two months to come to an understaning of the work we wanted performed and then they still didn't get it right on the day of service. The gate mesh was too short which could allow access to our knob on the inside of the gate. This would not have been as big of an issue except they had mentioned adding sleeves to the knobs during the consultation, but did not add it to the quote which we missed so that is partly our falult. They were supposed to rekey 4 doors, but only did 2 due to what htey said was city code requirements. However these requirements were not mention in the initial consultation. Lastly, painting of the mesh was supposed to be included, then on the day they arrived they said that it was included but they would have to get the paint, then 2 days later it was it was included but now we needed to buy the paint, and then now it is painting is not and they will need to charge us $200+ plus the cost of paint. The mesh is starting to rust to now. Had we been informed upfront of the paint, we could have either planned for the expense or been prepared to paint the mesh as soon as it was installed oursevles. Not knowing much about locks and security made this especially confusing, but this company did not do anything to help allieviate the confusion. In fact, they just made it worse.

Description of Work: Replaced dead bolt lock in January. Had them back out to replace main lock when it failed in March. Both times I was very pleased with service and results.

Description of Work: Installed new door handle on interior door. Very good service. Work done when they said it would be and in very short amount of time.

Description of Work: The service provided was the re-keying of four condo locks. The whole job, from the initial phone call through punctual arrival of the technician through the completion of the last lock, went smoothly. I was very pleased and would definitely use ET Locksmith and Security again.

Description of Work: They were supposed to install 2 deadbolts on 2 different doors, but they put 2 deadbolts on the same door so I ended up with 3 deadbolts total. They sent out someone who spent between 5-6 hours here doing a job that should have taken less than 2 hours. I also asked for a security lock for my back door, which they re-keyed, but that was not exactly what I asked for.

Description of Work: Biggest issue was the significant fee charged just for showing up to a non-emergency lock issue. The appointment was made several days in advance and there was no disclosure that there would be a fee for showing up, plus labor plus parts. The work was very good and I have no complaints there, however.

Description of Work: Had them come out after buying a new house to change out all the locks. Brandon did this in a very professional and friendly way, and he clearly knew his stuff. He reviewed everything with me very thoroughly, was very clear with pricing, and gave me options with pluses/minuses of each and recommendations where decisions needed to be made. He had me keep the original key, just in case we discovered other doors that we missed, which I thought unlikely, but I kept it anyway. Sure enough, we discovered another door (an extra garage door) we missed a couple days later, so we had someone else out. Michael was also great and took care of that in no time and also replaced a mailbox lock for which we did not have the key. Will definitely call them with any future locksmith needs.

Description of Work: THE FOLLOWING IS MY OPPINION OF THE TRANSACTIONS THAT TOOK PLACE BETWEEN MY OFFICE AND THIS COMPANY, THE NUMBERS ARE ESTIMATES BECAUSE THEY TOOK THE PAPERS FROM ME. | |THEY WERE TO INSTALL A SIMPLE OUT DOOR LOCK. THEY CAME OUT TO LOOK AT IT THAN CHARGED ME FOR THAT AROUND $140 THEN SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL IT NOTWITHSTANDING THE FACT THEY SAW THE LOCK BEFORE HAND AND TRYED TO CHARGE ME SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE DOLLARS. THEY DID NOT GET ME A REFUND FOR WHAT THEY SAY WAS A DEFECTIVE LOCK AND TOLD ME TO BUY ANOTHER $500 LOCK AND THEN THEY COULD NOT FULLY INSTALL THE NEW $500 LOCK. NOW THEY WANT ANOTHER $300. TO FINISH A JOB THEY ORIGINALLY QUTED AT UNDER $250. |THIS HAS TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE. THIS COMPAMY, IN MY OPPINON, HAS NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND I FEEL LIKE I WAS RIPPED OFF!!! |they ENDED IT WITH "GO TO MY lawyers. | |THIS IS A COMPANY IN MY OPPINION SHOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND I AM CONTACTING BBB AND THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE TO LOOK INTO FILING A CONSUMER FRAUD CASED.
