Element Drywall & Painting

After moving into a new condo, we hired DLB Drywall after finding them on Angie's List. When we first called, we only thought we wanted walls in the living room and hall way demoed and new drywall replaced. Their original quote was competitive and they could start that weekend so we hired them right away. As it always happens, when doing renovations, the project scope keeps expanding and we added more work to DLB Drywall's list. What I find amazing about working with Gustavo and his crew is not only are they obliging to new tasks, but they are genuinely excited but what they do and proud of what they deliver. More than a few times, Gustavo would show us photos on his phone of other jobs his crew was working on, telling us how many sheets or some challenge but always saying, "doesn't that look great?". After the drywall installation, DLB did an amazing job on the mudding and taping. From everything we've seen, this can take years of practice to get right but we're absolutely pleased with the results. All our walls are smooth seamless. In addition to the original scope, we also had them add exterior insulation to two walls in the living room, sound insulation on an interior wall, new ceilings, framing in two walls, and a some miscellaneous carpentry assistance. When we were pressed for time and needed help installing baseboard and crown molding, we asked Gustavo if he knew any carpenters who who could help on short notice. He responded right away and sent a crew member to help out the next day to our great relief. We appreciated during the entire project how Gustavo was great at communicating with us about the process, showed up when promised, and worked like crazy to meet our deadlines--a welcome relief. As your business relationship went well, we also hired Gustavo's brother, Eduardo, do all the interior painting with the same attention to detail and great quality. It was great working with Gustavo and DLB Drywall and we would hire them again in a heartbeat!

They are very professional and this was great project overall. Gustavo has great techniques for textures and borders on the drywall, he's very knowledgeable, and provides great follow up. He came back several times to make sure everything was done properly. He even had a contact who helped with a repair we needed on a duct and then he finished the detail work on that as well. His attention to detail was amazing, and I highly recommend him to others

Gus and his team did an amazing job on the drywall!! They were able to repair the cracks and smoothly blend the patch with the rest of the ceiling and walls. They were courteous and respectful of us and our house and they were on time each day. As he was painting the ceiling, Gus noticed a few cracks that neither I, nor my spouse, had discovered. Instead of ignoring these other issues, Gus made sure to point them out and took the extra time to repair them even though that meant a delay in the overall project and in his time. Not only did they do a great job on the drywall/paint, but they cleaned the work area every day they worked. If you have every had drywall repairs in your home, you know that dust gets everywhere!!! Gus and his team were meticulous about the cleaning. They used tarps and covers and they swept, mopped, and wiped baseboards every time they worked. And they left the area practically spotless when they left on the final day. I could not have been happier with the work or their professionalism. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again!

Dorian was able to fit us into his schedule within days. He came over on Wednesday night for a quick estimate and started work on Thursday. Re-applied mud on Friday and then sanded/primer on Saturday. The wall looked like new. Would definitely hire again.

The project was completed in a timely manner. Gustavo was very professional . He always cleaned up before he would leave for the day. He came on the days he promised he would. The work is of best quality. He not only finished the dry wall (built a wall with metal studs/construction lumber around door) but he stained, trimmed, painted trim, casing and door wit prime paint. He cut and assembled trim and casing to match existing trims. Cut and custom fit outlet cover. While he was there he did additional work for me. Patches a bathtub crack and fixed bathroom sink drain. I have four girls who live in my unit and they all said he was professional and clean. Gustavo answered texts and phone calls immediately. Gustavo is definitely going to be my go to for my townhome I rent out in the future.

They did an excellent job. I've had them do major drywall repairs last year and that work was spectacular. They're always on time and cleaned up each day. I plan to have them come back for my bedrooms. Dorian's work is precise, careful and he's very easy to work with.

They just finished another set of work for me, but I had more work needed. They agreed to stick-around and help with this other work. Cost of installation and painting came to about $4,750 and was completed within 2 weeks. They also spent a full week traveling to different stores to attempt to match my kitchen wall cabinets to perform a base cabinet installation. Some of that design work and research is included within the cost above.

It went well. I gave them a set of keys to the unit, and they did the rest. They worked quickly and efficiently to save me money on wood and provide a solid and stable job.

Overall ok. Some issues with up keep of job site clean from debris. Workers sloppy. Coverplates to existing electrical ceiling boxes were left exposed and not covered after job complete.

The work was performed about a month ago and I'm still impressed with the results. Dorian and his partner did an exceptional job. They were on time and completed the work in the length of time he had indicated. Dorian explained everything they were doing in detail which I appreciated only because I was interested. They worked quietly and continuously, and were done each day as planned. They even mended minor cracks and nail holes I didn't even notice before. After they completed the sanding, they even mopped my floor! I'm surprised that the extensive work they did, didn't leave that much dust. I'm planning to have them return in the Spring to paint my apartment. They are the best !!!

It went very well. Dorian and his associates did a great job - the surface is strong and smooth whereas it was falling apart at the cracks before.

I received the estimate a few days later and agreed to move forward. I had family coming into town and Dorian was able to commit to getting it done as soon as possible. The work itself involved framing for ductwork soffits and framing for a closet. They also put drywall in an old plaster covered closet that was full of holes from the HVAC crew and electricians I had in years earlier. Drywall is fairly messy business, but they did the best they could to cover floors, artwork etc. and did a quick clean before leaving each day to help minimize impact. They cleaned up everything on the last day including floors. The results look really nice and they did a lot of extra work to make our main floor look great drywall wise. They went the extra mile to patch things they saw that weren't done correctly or were torn up by electricians. They also took care of an interior window in a bedroom and you can't even tell there was a window there. Overall, Dorian and Gustavo went the extra mile for us and got the work done quickly but competently and it looks great. I had several good conversations with them and Gustavo even told me how to fix a running toilet which I did a day later. (That'll help bring down the water bill). They worked 2 different Saturday's for us and got the job done as promised. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Dorian and his crew were prompt, tidy, professional and the quality of their work is second to none. I would not do another project in the Chicago area with anyone else. I discovered a small touchup job that I needed done after they left the jobsite and DLB came back to make sure I was completely satisfied with the work. These guys work hard at a fair price and deliver a flawless product, what else can you ask for? You will not regret hiring these guys.

Gustavo and his team are extremely professional and do exceptional work- there is a definite importance to detail. They showed up each day (of 2) on time and cleaned up after the work was finished that day. I am a VERY picky person and they far exceeded my expectations- I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We had two workers from the company, Dorian and Nacho. They both were great to work with. The job took 2.5 days. Each day they came on time and ready to work. I felt they used time efficiently and the end result was really high quality. In addition, they went above the call of duty running to home depot to replace a few broken parts on the fence.

I needed to fix one of my apartments before i rented and I called Gustavo from DLB He came to my house and i explained to him what i wanted to do, the apartment needed a lot of work but i also told him i did not had lots of money to fix it. He was very nice and helpful, giving me ideas on the job to get more for my money. I gave him the job and i was very pleased with his work.

Excellent! I did some extensive remodeling to my house. The Drywall and paint looks great. They were clean and worked with precision. Everything went smoothly and were pleasant to work with.
