Ed Murphy Wallpapering

Both rooms turned out better than I hoped for! I would highly recommend Ed Murphy. He does beautiful work, his pricing is fair, he was punctual and responsive, and he was friendly and easy to work with.

Went terrific. Ed did a great job patching up scraped areas of wallpaper damaged by my grandchildren using Lazyboy as a rocking chair.

Ed did a great job on the wallpaper (and saving my marriage). We had couple tricky stairway walls my wife and I considered doing ourselves. But thankfully we came to our senses and hired Ed. We are very glad we did. The wallpaper we chose was more difficult to work with than we thought it would be. Ed was professional, friendly, and most importantly made my wife a very happy woman. Ed is very responsive, professional, and provides high-quality work. He provided a quote within a few hours of my initial outreach, and arrived four days later to complete a full day's work. We had him hang two wallpaper murals, which he managed to complete by the early evening without rushing. He was thoughtful in trimming the murals so that no important parts of the images were lost. Both walls were beautifully done!

Excellent! Ed was very responsive to my initial outreach and provided a quote over the phone based on the details of the work and wallpaper specs. He arrived as promised 4 days later to do the work and spent the necessary time to appropriately prep the walls and put up the paper. The end product is simply beautiful and it’s very difficult to find the seams. Ed was a joy to work with, courteous, meticulous and professional. We hired Ed based on his excellent reviews, and he did not disappoint! We wanted an accent wall of wallpaper in our bedroom and a nursery. Ed was able to fit us in based on our schedule and was also able to come earlier than expected when our painting was done a few days early. He answered all of my questions upfront (making sure I purchased the right amount, when to paint, etc.) and responded quickly whenever I reached out. Ed was punctual and got right to work, getting everyone done in one day. He brought potential issues to my attention to make sure I was comfortable with how everything would look in the end (house is 100+ years old so some walls aren't perfectly level). The final product looks fantastic. You really have to work hard to see where each strip meets up. We would definitely hire Ed again for any wallpaper job in the future!

Ed was great - very responsive, on time and meticulous with his work. The wallpaper looks seamless, as does the drywall repair and painting he did - you can't tell there were ever holes in the wall. Ed was here a few minutes early, and was meticulous in his work. The result was a seamless job of hanging the wallpaper without any blemish. He was great to talk to, and did a great job of explaining how it was hung. He takes his time until it's perfect. His price was also fair compared to other quotes I got here on Angie's List. This guy is the guy for the job.

VERY HIGHLY recommended! Wonderful to work with. Ed is spectacular and, true to his own description, a perfectionist. I chose some particularly tricky patterns and, having rather high standards as I'm also Type-A, would’ve been driven nuts by poorly hung wallpaper. Ed knocked it out of the park — not an easy task with me! Everything you want in a contractor (that is coming from someone who just moved into a new home and has been dealing with a lot of contractors lately!): responsive, punctual every single morning, not messy but cleans up his materials each day anyways, meticulous about details, and picky about doing the best job possible. Even to the extent that it took him extra time beyond the original estimate to complete the job (and this is with consistently putting in 8- or 9-hr days), but we were happy to make it work because you can tell he wants to get it done the RIGHT way. If you also want to have amazing wallpaper in your home, like I do now, you should be flexible, too — not just anyone can do this well, and wallpaper isn't something where you want to rush the work because it will look like crap. Want the right person doing it, taking the time they need to get it 100%? That person is Ed. On top of all that, prices were reasonable, he was happy to accommodate my requests to add primer and decorator's varnish to ensure long-lasting wallpaper in the areas around the showers (increased steam/mold opportunity than other areas), and is personally friendly and polite... how many contractors can you say that about?! Only wish I had more wallpaper work for him to do, but you can bet I’ll be referring friends and reach back out if I ever move again. Seriously, hire Ed ASAP — don’t bother calling anyone else!!!

We wallpapered one wall in our bedroom with an intricately patterned wallpaper. Ed was responsive, quick to get back to us, came in with the lowest estimate, offered input into how much paper we needed, and then showed up on time and did a wonderful job. Couldn't recommend him more.

Ed was great to work with. His work was excellent and we had a complicated area to wallpaper. Ed always kept his work area very clean and came when he said he would. I would definitely hire him again!

Prior to the job, I provided a few photos of space and shared the wallpaper info, including dimensions of the space over email. Ed provided an estimate and we settled on a date and time. I really appreciated his approach to planning. My biggest concern was if I would have to remove the existing paper and luckily that was not necessary. Ed arrived on time and completed the job that day. He did an excellent job and the paper is beautiful. I would highly recommend his services.
