I got a couple of quotes for both mini-duct and passive (conventional) A/C systems, thinking that the mini-duct system would be 1.5 to 2 times as much as the passive system. In some cases there was that much of a difference in the quotes, but not with Paul. His price came right in line with quotes we'd gotten for conventional systems. Add in that Paul was very responsive and professional and it was a no-brainer for us. Paul and two of his laborers did all the work, which included running the trunk line and mini-duct branches through the attic of our 2-flat, punching a hole in the roof to attach the trunk line to the air handler, hoisting the air handler and condenser on to the roof, connecting and testing everything. The air handler (blower) and condensing unit went on to the roof. To accommodate this I paid an electrician to run the electric up to the roof, and I paid a couple of carpenters to help me build a waterproof box on the roof to contain the air handler. Paul was thorough in every detail of the project, and we have been very happy with the results. We used the system a number of times this summer and it cooled the 2nd floor unit off wonderfully. As part of his guarantee of the system, Paul will come back in the spring to do a check-up & maintenance service call on the unit.
