The crew worked hard and got the projects done in good time. They were easy to work with and stayed in close contact. The inspector signed off on the projects.

In March 2016, I spent a considerable amount of time working with the estimator to define the parameters of a stair resurfacing project. The estimate was over $5000, which was more than some but less than others. About six weeks later, I authorized them to go ahead with the work, but then was told that they are too busy this summer and I should find someone else to do the job. Clearly, there is a lack of professionalism at this business. They wasted my time and refused to stand behind their estimates.

These guys are really hard workers! It doesn't get any better than this. We could not believe how they would show up promptly every single morning at 8am and sometimes work until the evening to get the job done. If the city of Chicago hired them to fix the streets as fast as they re-did our walkway and patio, the streets wouldn't be torn up for months on end. Eddie Castillo is the owner and started the company in 2007. He's a really good guy. Our neighbors were envious of the framing job this team did on the walkway. Eddie and crew also do restoration work and masonry as well as concrete.

It was probably a small job, compared to what I've read from other reviews, but I was treated with respect, professionalism and care for the quality of work performed. Mike clearly communicated the scope and costs of the project. Eddie and Manny's team were punctual and efficient. The repair work was completed well within the expected time and the completed work met my expectations. Everyone involved ensured that my questions were answered to my satisfaction. For me, it was the little things that indicated they were treating this small job with the same attention that a much larger project might receive. An example is related to logistics of our roof. Instead of choosing the quick approach, which someone might consider reasonable, but in the long term had potential to damage our roof, Manny chose an alternate approach. It added some time to his work, but guaranteed no damage to my roof. After reading some other reviews of what people experienced from other contractors, this little detail impressed me. Besides that, he was was thorough in explaining our options before, as well as the completed work after. Additionally, I needed this work done in the "off season" and had trouble even securing quotes from some contractors. Mike was willing to work with me and thankfully we found some time when the weather cooperated.

The main holdups for the job were permit related. We are very pleased with the final results.

The project went exceptionally well. Their workers went above and beyond; performed the work quickly with extreme care to our property. Concrete finishers and brick layers were all perfectionists and made sure that all work was beyond reproach. The finished project is nearly impossible to distinguish from the original house. They quickly arranged for the few extras we requested and their pricing was considerably less than we had anticipated.

Our house is more than 120 years old and the porch was on the verge of collapsing thanks to the previous owner's lack of care. Mike, Eddie, and their team tore down and rebuilt our porch which wraps around the front and side of our house. Once torn down we found that the concrete on our basement wall had a huge gaping hole. They repaired it for us without batting an eye. In addition our front stoop was cracked, they repoured it and now our house looks great. Very satisfied, used Mike's company again when we found issues with one of the beams in our basement and my parents used EB to redo their front porch and steps as well.

We thought we would need to take down and replace our front porch in order to fix a sewer line in our front yard. We called E&B Masonry for a quote and they came out within a day to estimate the work. They were extremely professional to deal with, they came across as a very efficient organization, and they provided a thorough quote for the work within a day of their visit. Three days later, we just learned that we could fix the sewer problem from inside the home (so no porch demolition needed). But as of right now, I have not gotten an estimate (or, in some cases, a reply) from any of the other providers I was in touch with.

Eddie and his crew were fantastic. They clearly understood the problems we were having and their bid was competitive. They started the project when they said they would and communicated clearly about where they would be working and how it would impact us. I have no concerns about the quality of the workmanship although I guess it will be a few years before we really know. What really impressed me was how they handled the surprises that came up during the project. When more tuck pointing was needed than expected on a high wall that was hard to inspect they just did the work. When the discovered a roofing problem they brought it to my attention, we agreed on a fix, and then they found a way of re-routing our downspouts to prevent the problem from reoccurring.

The job was removing wing walls and pouring concrete steps for my bungalow. Not sure what to say here. I called and left a voicemail. They called back and we calendared an appointment including and email confirming the time , day and person I would meet. Met with him at the appointed time, pretty sure he was even a few minutes early. And that was the last I heard from them. Never received the estimate, a phone call or any other correspondence. It will have been a month on 2 days since the estimate appointment. Must be nice to be in such high demand.

From the beginning with setting up a time to get a bid, to accepting the bid and having all the work done was as smooth as one can ask. Our old porch was a rotten messed and we got bids from 3500-6000 dollars and we needed something done quickly, but last a long time. The guys got the whole thing done in about 2.5-3 days and I had some issues with the wood they used in certain areas and they address those concerns. Please note that quality of work they did was an A plus, just felt the certain areas they could have used a different piece of wood, because where the knots were. Not a deal breaker at all, but if your a type of person that wants perfection, just stay on top of the guys and they will fix it. They build to Chicago code, which is very nice, the deck is super sturdy and should last a long time.

Eddie and his team was very efficient and professional. The project looks great and nice upgrade to my home. On time and sticks to his word.

E & B Masonry did an excellent job replacing an exterior masonry wall and installing a glass brick window for my parent's multi-family unit. Our family, friends, and neighbors were extremely impressed by the end result. Eddie was every helpful, and went above and beyond to answer our questions and concerns. He even offered to level our floor joist and make the masonry wall more visually appealing. He was very responsive to text and calls. His crew worked very hard during their twelve hour days. The price was reasonable for this project. We received about five bids for this project, and E& B Masonry was not the lowest or highest offer. Minor complain is the work took longer then expected. My parents and I were informed that the project will take two weeks, but took a little over a month. However, this was primarily due to poor weather and waiting for materials to be delivered. Overall, I will definitely recommend E&B Masonry. We were extremely satisfied with the results!

Amazing. Over a six month period as I was renovating a small building I had them do 5 different projects and they were absolutely excellent. Their workers were skilled and professional and always very polite - cleaning up the areas after they were done, keeping the noise down as possible, etc.

This is a young, energetic company managed by two brothers eager to leave their customers satisfied. We have a huge basement with many separate storage areas and closets. Given the age of the home, improving the basement walls was a challenge. Whatever concerns I had with quality and detail were readily addressed. I waited to write this review to see how the improvements lasted. The results are looking good!

Great experience. Came to work on time and cleaned up their mess. They were polite and did a professional job. The owner always returned my calls.

Went very well. My only minor complaint is that I thought it was a little messy in the front. Some of the debris from getting up old concrete was placed in grass without a plastic cover. It killed a small patch of grass. HOWEVER, I have already referred them to neighbors and would use again. They were extremely responsive and professional. I've gotten compliments one the work.

E & B Masonry did excellent on this project. Eddie Murillo and his crew were professional. They were very accommodating to our schedule and the constraints of the working conditions. (The job was located in a very busy and congested Chicago neighborhood.) The main feature of the deck was the privacy wall. The design was something they hadn't seen before. But, after a few bumps, the results were great. I absolutely would recommend E & B Masonry.

We were stressed out about the scope of this project, but it was done thoroughly and quickly. E&B was responsive. They were truly wonderful to work with and we cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone who has an outdoor construction project. We are thrilled with the quality of the work.

We did not use this provider as his estimate was the highest of the three estimates we had done, although his description of work to be done was very thorough and professional.

Provider obliged my request for 2 quotes, 1 for a new concrete porch and 1 for a new wooden porch, and both were on par or better than the other we received, with a more professional methodology to boot. (One guy just looked at it and said, about $5000, when should I start? Hah!) We chose wood. They submitted a drawing and survey to the village and got permit and approval. (Though the village lost the paperwork, affecting the start of the project at no fault of the provider). Porch was broken up right away and then hauled away in stages over the week or so the project took to complete. The holes were dug for footings, and while waiting for the inspector to come sign off before posts and concrete went in, they built the deck on temporary braces to keep the project moving. Then they slipped the posts in once ready, and built the stairs and railing. Per our contract, they also replaced the vinyl siding in places the new porch didn't cover and patched in new siding as best as possible with 20-30 year old siding. Once finished they sent me an email asking for any punchlist items I had before final payment. I was impressed that they would ask for open items without me even having a chance to bring any up. They completed the punch list within a couple days without contesting any of the requests, and collected the expected remaining balance without any requests for additional money. My biggest complaint was that there was a lot of small concrete debris in my lawn from the old porch demolition they left behind, as well as the larger chunks kept on the parkway that were rough on the lawn. However, they did come back and pick up as much as they could, but I would have preferred to see some tarps around to help protect the grass.

The work they did was top quality. It looked professional as well were the workmen. Cleaned the work area up every night and secured gates before leaving. I highly recommend this company Eddie, the owner, and Mike in the office were quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. They did what they said they would do!

E&B did a great job. Highly responsive with all appointments. Job price was fair, crew started project on expected date and did a great job. All aspects of the project were executed in line with estimate and job scope. Fixed a number or problems that were done incorrectly during the initial installation. We would highly recommend their services. Thanks!
