plus one more did installation. still, after months, correcting and finishing the work. sorry, cannot say for sure who the subcontractor was as I believed it to be Home Depot from the beginning til the end. The doors were trimmed to fit and left with gaping open wood and no instructions regarding re-staining or repairing. One door is separating from the veneer and may fall apart, perhaps due to the trimming. In some cases the full edge of the door was trimmed. the final product was a real disappointment. It is now costing another 2,000 (there were 11 doors) to re finish, with care, the doors.

We recently had a break-in to which the interior and exterior doors including frame needed to be replaced. After searching on Angie's list and through many calls and estimates, we hired Door Consultants, Inc to do the job. Lynn Ward was very pleasant and informative. His professionalism and time stood out from the rest. If need be, we will definitely use him again.

The result is a high-quality security door very well installed at the price I was originally quoted. A+

I had a small project to weatherproof my door or possibly more. The person who answered the phone was actually working fairly near my unit. He said he would stop by by the end of the day never heard back.

Called for an appointment to make an estimate on an entry door repair on a Thursday. The person answering (a man) said they could do that, and that he had crews in the area, and asked if could I be available on a whim. My job does allow me to sneak away if needed, so I said yes. He said that they could get a crew to my place Friday, and didn't specify a time. He also said that they may be able to come Saturday if not Friday, but again did not name a time but said they would call. He did not call back, show up, or take any other action from my call. Kind of unprofessional in my opinion to give out 2 days you might show up, then not call OR show up. I would have called back to complain but there are other contractors in the sea that may actually want some business. It's a bummer because based on other reviews it sounds like they do good work.

I called the provider to inquire about installing a lock on an entry way door to a building. He stated that the job was really small and that his schedule was very busy, but he would try to squeeze me in that evening. I was excited about his attempt to try to accommodate the job, but soon let down because I waited for a phone call but never received one to either confirm or reschedule the appointment. This was a big disappointment considering the wonderful reviews provided on Angie's List. Very inconsistent with the reviews, and inconsiderate as a businessman.

We have a disabled neighbor that uses a wheel chair. While he was home, his door was kicked in and he was robbed. Obviously, everyone was pretty shook up. The thing we needed most, a safe and secure door, seemed so hard to get as we approached the evening hours after the police finished up. My wife found Lynn Ward and Door Consultants Inc online. Lynn agreed to come out and give a free estimate. He arrived shortly and it was as if a saint arrived to save the day. He had such a warm and calm demeanor and went about securing the door in short order. His knowledge of doors and carpentry were obvious. He gave us a couple practical options to consider. He finished the repairs needed to secure the door in less than an hour and completely changed he course of the evening. While my wife and I were so disgusted by the person that invaded the home of our neighbor, we were also inspired by people like Lynn Ward. He was such a bright spot in an otherwise dark day. I can't recommend him enough, a real saint.

After having a new basement floor poured, our old door no longer fit (we gained 5-6 inches in height). We had lined someone up to do the work, but at the last minute they were too busy. I called Ward at 7:30 on Thursday night. He and Rolando were working a few blocks away and said they would come by when they finished what they were doing. And so about 1.5 hours after calling, they arrived, assessed the situation, told me I needed a different sized door than the one the concrete guy recommended. I ran to HD at 9:30 and got a new door. Ward and Rolando arrived around 10am on Friday as discussed, and spent the next 4 or so hours installing the door and new threshold. I am grateful they took care of it so quickly as we did not have a secure door and in less than 24 hours, we did. .

The overall experience was great!!

They were the only company that does the work what they say. He removed everything off, reinforced hinges, put weather proof tip, balanced everything and put new better closer on. I was just amazed and everybody else who came in to my house was really excited as the doors didn’t stick. He worked very hard. He actually took the doors off the hinges, made sure the frame was correct instead of replacing stuff with new ones he actually worked with what he had and saved me money. The cheapest guy I guess prior to him was like $300 more and was still trying to replace the door and was going to do only one door but this guy did two. He knows old buildings and understands old buildings. I am planning in using him again.

I contacted Ward for to fix a double door on my building. The lock was loose and the door was not closing properly. He gave me a quote to replace the lock, tighten up the door and custom build a lock strike plate. He came over to look at the door a few hours after I called him in the morning. Very fast response time. I ended up having to repair the door myself because I was leaving out of town and Ward was going to do the install when it wasn't at freezing temperatures outside.

We had a fantastic experience with Door Consultants. We had a break-in last week and after calling the owner, he was at our house within 2 hours to give us an estimate on a new door. His team was extremely thorough and worked from 9am - 7pm on a Saturday to finish the work. We decided to have them reinforce the other doors in our house, so they came to our house at 3:30pm on a Monday which was the earliest my husband could be home, and worked until 10pm that night to finish the job. We are extremely pleased with the work product and professionalism of the owner and his team. We will definitely use them again if we need to and will recommend them to all our friends if they need any door work.

Just tried calling Door Consultants to get an estimate/schedule an appointment. Received voicemail and then was told that the mailbox was full. Not sure if this company is still in business or still doing business, but you should definitely be able to leave a voicemail for a company if they're not going to answer their phone.

my girlfriend's house was broken into; thief (or thieves) forced the door, despite deadbolt; the previous frame did not withstandassault. a call (well after 5 pm) to Door Consultants got an answer, a quote, and an appointment for the following morning: at which time he arrived and fixed the doorframe (in such a way as to make it more impervious to assault). We had not previously asked about locks but during the interval between the initial call and his arrival, we concluded that we'd probably also need to get a locksmith---but when we asked him if he could recommend anyone, he noted that he could do the work right then; and did so. (he added a very reasonable additional charge for this---almost certainly a fraction of what it would have cost to get a locksmith to come out on a holiday weekend). He also agreed to look at a couple of other potential projects (which he confirmed would probably not make sense at this time, per a need to do other projects first--but am guessing that at such a time when those projects would make sense, we would probably call Door Consultants first..)

He did not show up for the first appointment. However, when we rescheduled for the next day he unwedged a stuck door at no charge. He is very thorough and explains what he is doing and your options. Trustworthy. Cares about doing a good job. It wasn't inexpensive, but I think he selected a quality door, and the job did take two men two hours of labor, which I attribute to his attention to detail and his desire to install it correctly.

I would never have added this report was it not that my experience was nearly identical to another would-be customer, that I was completely blown off. My front door was in need of replacement and I was interested in a couple other door-related jobs to better secure my condo. Lynn Ward (purportedly the owner) came out, spent a half hour sizing up my job and told me to e-mail him to ask for a proposal/cost estimate. Lynn spoke intelligently, was pleasant, had some good sounding ideas and I planned on going with him, even if his ultimate price would have been a few hundred more than the other quotes. I e-mailed him twice for a proposal and has never gotten back to me to this day, even with a simple response to decline the job. I eventually went with another company that I was very pleased with. I can only imagine how dealing with him or his company would have been based on his unprofessionalism. I hope he reads this and realizes that he blew a laydown sale and $20,000+ in future door repair work with our condo association.

Responded quickly to evaluate and repair the damage. Easy to work with. Did a very good job. Will contact again.

My tenants notified me that upon moving in the balcony door was not shutting like it should. I contacted Door Consultants and received a speedy reply, a verbal estimate AND understood and diagnosed the problem from my description over the phone. As I live in another state from my unit, it is a bit difficult to orchestrate getting service calls to my unit. They were flexible with their schedule and found a time that worked for my tenant to come out to fix the door. They were prompt and quick and it actually cost less than the estimate! They also were comfortable with me mailing a check after the work was complete. I was highly impressed with their responsiveness, knowledge and efficiency. I would definitely use them again in the future.

The services seemed fine--person was on time, gave us a reasonable estimate, was flexible about times ot meet, answered a lot of questions, explained a lot of the reasoning behind his recommendations. However, 6 months later, the front gate lock/knob are sticking, the lock slips. Also, when we were having issues because some of the residents' keys didn't work in the new lock he installed, he was not very responsive and did not offer to provide copies of keys that did work in the lock. I don't know if that's standard or not. Overall, I think the work added security to the building and the ways our doors lock, was ffordable, but the residents' issues with the front gait were a big deal to the residents, and there was some lag time in response and perhaps an inadequate response.

Received a quick call back from Door Consultants after leaving a message. After describing the issue, I was given a verbal estimate on the work that would be needed. The explanation was reasonable and so was the cost. The one thing that was a bit inconvenient was the scheduling. I could not get a commitment on a date or time. Luckily I had already scheduled an appointment with the HVAC person, so I was going to be home for the majority of the afternoon on a Thursday. Things all worked out well, but I was a bit apprehensive trying to arrange an appointment. Door Consultants actually showed up on time and gave me an analysis within minutes. They were very knowledgeable and gave me comfort that I had hired the right people for the job. As they installed the new hinges and realigned the door, I could see that they were highly skilled in their craft and were very efficient. Within two hours, everything was done and our door was finally fixed.

This is the third job we have used this company for - Condo Association. They come out promptly, do a great job and bill fairly. This is a excellent company.

They had to redo the entire mounting around the door as well. Overall, the work was very good, and their efficiency was probably the best thing. Their price was high, and we would use them again in the future if the price is right.
