Designs of April

April had many excellent suggestions on her first visit. She recommended raising the sidewalk in the back yard as the neighbor's yard was 3-4 inches higher and causing dangerous icy conditions in the winter. She also suggested putting in underground drains connected to the gutters which vastly improved our drainage and improved the appearance of the house. The asymmetrical designs she presented to us were very attractive and unique. April asked us for our plant preferences and showed us many possible choices. Her designs contain plants that will be flowering at different times of the year and complement each other. She was very active in assisting the gardening service that implemented her designs and we are quite astonished with the result.

We moved into a new house with multiple phases of landscaping projects, all overgrown and unrelated to each other. Having zero experience or knowledge in landscaping, we hired April to put together a comprehensive plan that would turn our messy outdoor space into a beautiful, tiny paradise. April visited multiple times to check out light conditions, soil conditions, etc., as well as show us photos of different types of plants to get a feel for what we like. We looked at pictures on Pinterest, as well as in the numerous books she brought with her to each visit. We also discussed maintenance and cost of upkeep. She then began to draw up plans, which we tweaked over the course of several weeks until we got it just right. Throughout the process, April was mindful of our budget and made sure she checked in with us any time there was a possibility that a particular phase of the project might go over budget due to last minute changes or unforeseen circumstances. She also made every effort to reuse plants and stonework already in our yard so we wouldn't need to spend as much money on new materials Altogether, we ended up with a beautifully landscaped yard, a revitalized stone patio, a new stone fire pit, a new concrete walkway, a new cedar fence, and a new back deck. This was a long project, with lots of different contractors and multiple phases, but April was on hand for every moment of it. She was immediately responsive any time we had a question or needed her to coordinate with one of our contractors, and she gave us valuable advice at every turn. We love the way our yard looks and have gotten numerous compliments from our neighbors. We are now planning to host an outdoor cocktail party this summer, something we never would have considered when we first moved in. We really enjoyed working with April and could not recommend her more highly.
