Terribly. I will never do business with Dal again. To avoid construction delays, we selected tile two months before the project began. The staff at Dal told us there was no need to place our order at that point, because the tile we selected was always in stock. That turned out to be wrong. Shortly after construction began, our contractor went to place the order. He was told that one of the patterns we'd selected had been discontinued. So much for "always in stock." We regrouped and quickly chose an alternative, hoping the delay wouldn't set the project back. Dal told us the new tile we'd chosen would take 6-8 weeks to arrive, for an early to mid April delivery. Construction proceeded with this timeline in mind. The contractor started calling Dal in early April to find out the status of the order. Occasionally, they would return his calls or emails. When they did, their response amounted to something along the lines of "We don't know when it will arrive. It'll show up when it shows up." After a lot of prodding, Dal finally contracted the supplier. They reported that the tile was on a boat somewhere in the Pacific and its arrival date would be sometime late April. The contractor re-jiggered his subcontractor schedule accordingly, and we extended the lease on the apt we're renting during construction. Non-trivial cost to us financially, and to the contractor as well. Fast forward to late April. The contractor gets back in touch with Dal, who says the tile is still on a boat somewhere, and won't be here until mid May at the earliest. Ugh. Even if their new time estimate is accurate - which is doubtful, given the history - our project will be held up 2 months. All because of tile. Or more accurately, because of Dal's inability to deliver along the timelines they initially provided. Look, I realize that sourcing materials internationally is a challenge, and never expected Dal to hit the mark precisely. But at this point they've provided bad information on at least 3 occasions, and the cost to us and our contractors have been significant. They have not offered anything in the way of solace, much less reparations. Great customer service, huh?
