We hired this contractor (DTC/Angel) to install hardwood floors in the bedroom of our condo. The installer told us Angel didn't bother to get the better grade plywood (goes under the cork and flooring as required in condo bldgs) that would have made the floors lower to the ground. He also refused to fix the flooring when the piece nearest the entry (despite my specific instruction to do it otherwise) was installed the WRONG DIRECTION and he didn't bother to install grading for the transitions between the wood and tile. We now have the pleasure of whacking our toes EVERY TIME on the one INCH wood JUT whenever we move from the living room to the kitchen to the hallway to the bedroomWhat really bothered me, though, was that when I suggested he didn't use the right specs, he disappeared ... only to show up at the management office ASKING FOR A COPY OF THE SPECS (we sort of thought he would have checked this BEFORE installing). When I wanted to explain the problems to him, he was LATE arriving (and I had to explain to him that to pay for all this crap, I HAVE to go to work). ***I initially revised this 02-13-12 (job started 02-06-12) pending the completion of the "transitions" which I had to fight for ... and which I am not agreeing to pay "extra" for given that the contractor was just going to leave the job "as is" with the giant JUTS*** *****OVER THE PHONE THIS GUY (ANGEL) TRIED TO TELL ME THE BASEBOARDS WERE A MATCH ... HAVE A LOOK AT THE PHOTO!***** ****** Update 02-16-12: he put in new baseboards, but they do not affix to the wall - some areas stick out 1/8 - 1/4 inch from the wall - which is not right.****** ******* Today - 02-17-12 - Angel of DTC Remodel said he was done and wasn't going to fix the problems with the flooring, transitions and baseboards ... I reported him to the City and County (for operating as a business without proper registration & for doing a poor job), but he's still out there. This morning, Angel got right in my face, yelled at me and then laughed after he asked what I expected him to do and I said "I expect you to do it over again - the right way - and not all cobbled up." DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY OR HIS SHAM BUSINESS. YOU WILL REGRET IT! ********
