They responded pretty quickly. They arrived 20 minutes ahead of time. They were very professional. It worked out great. The people who came out were really good. This was my first time using them.

They were very nice and worked with me to reschedule my move several times as my closing date kept changing. The phone rep Maggie was awesome. Rey and the other movers were nice and hard-working. I did get the impression they were much more comfortable with moving than packing though.

Move was seamless and smooth, beds were dismantled and put back together in new apartment. Very happy with overall experience!
Description of Work: I recently moved from one apartment to another. Antonio, Humberto, and Mario were extremely efficient, fast, and hardworking. This move was last Friday on 11/25/16. I helped with what I could. Going up and down a 3rd floor apartment is not easy when you are carrying boxes. These gentlemen were amazing and never showed signs of fatigue. I, on the other hand could not move the next day. I would recommend this moving company for answering their phone with professionalism, straightforward estimate, and best of all, hardworking men! I called several moving companies, and other moving companies were pushy on the phone, rude, and gave me outrageous estimates. Other moving companies were quoting me 8 hours to move. Crescent movers moved me in three hours with time to spare. If I ever move again, hopefully not any time soon, I will definitely call crescent movers again without any hesitation!

They did a great job, very accommodating and efficient. We will recommend Cresent to anyone who's looking for movers. It was a seamless experience, from the initial call to the truck driving away at the end of the move. The price was also very reasonable, a lot of other moving companies wanted to staff the move with three people, which was totally unnecessary and drove the price up

If you have to move, this is the company to use. We had a long distance move from Chicago to Kentucky. The guys arrived and quickly began working.. We were moving from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom apartment and we had a lot of boxes. (After 42 years of marriage imagine what you accumulate.) Alex gave us a fair quote and even offered a few suggestions for finishing up the packing. We talked about making sure the estimate covered everything, I did not want to get to Kentucky and owe more than what I planned for. The estimate was fair and even included things like any tape they needed to use to close up any boxes. 4 movers came and loaded the truck in three hours. 2 movers came in the truck to Kentucky and unloaded the truck in 3 hours. All in the same day. Our boxers were marked for the rooms they were going to be in and they put them all in the appropriate rooms. They reassembled the things they disassembled to move. I have a lot of fragile glass pieces and they did not break a single piece. I have heavy oak pieces and not a single piece was broken (the last movers we had broke our china cabinet and did not even tell us.) I cannot express how great this company is. Tony and Mark are the crew who completed the move for us in Kentucky and if you can request them, by all means do so. I apologize for not knowing the names of the other crew members at the start of the move because all of them were great. One last thing to mention, my husband and I left the first half of the move to our daughter while we got on the road to Kentucky. She regularly kept us informed and was so impressed that she knows if she moves again this will be the company for her.

John with his four (4) man crew: called to say they were on the way, arrived on time, everything that was ready (especially the heavy furniture) was swiftly loaded onto the elevator, packed onto the truck, and transported to our new location was done with out wasted time. Things started out great. They bailed me out of a jam when another mover failed to return any calls for several days to confirm our move date. They were able to move us the next day, not my ideal day, but beggers can't be choosers. They showed up in the afternoon, just as they were supposed to. From start to finish was 4.5 hours. They estimated 7, and that would have been accurate, except the truck was too small for a move this large. I accepted that, and the fact that I still had to move all the boxes and garage, shed, etc myself. Basically, it only fit the furniture for a 4 bedroom house. But again, they were bailing me out, so I wouldn't complain. I have moved before, and all the furniture was wrapped in moving blankets. Expensive furniture, I may add. I didn't even realize that they were only shrink wrapping all the furniture, I assumed when it got outside it would be wrapped properly. It wasn't. I was coordinating this all myself, so I never had the chance to go out and look. Long story short, they ruined several pieces of furniture, and actually hid most of the damage. They never unwrapped several pieces, that all were coincidentally damaged. One obvious piece that I saw immediately was an electronic office safe. Hard to break a safe, but they did. It probably fell on my nice desk, since that was really damaged. As the move was coming to a close, the complaining about starting at 7AM started. It was now about 5:30-5:45PM. As I asked the guy in charge about the safe, he suddenly got deaf, and literally ignored my questions. It was almost comical, as I glanced at my wife, who was just waiting for my mouth to start saying the wrong things. (she just got home from work). But I just smiled, and let it go after 3 attempts. Here's the most memorable part......so I sign the paperwork and credit card slip, and even though I'm very frustrated about the complaining, and the fact that they evidently aren't going to unwrap the rest of the furniture (Didn't realize yet that they left the damaged stuff wrapped), I still offer the 4 guys a $40 tip. After I hand it to the only guy that will now acknowledge me (the boss is still deaf), he looks at it for a couple seconds, and then looks directly at me and says......."We worked a lot harder than that, we should all at least get $20 each." He went straight from perky and polite to very serious and almost threatening. I am very rarely speechless, but it actually took me a few seconds to actually process what he just said. After all, this is not required, but a cash tip on top of their salary. And he is trying to make me look like a cheap ***, and in a very uncomfortable way. So I did my best at de-escalating the situation by saying that if they moved a few other pieces around, I'd double the tip. That is SO not my character, to be bullied like that, especially by people that now know where you live, and what you own, but at that point, I thought it would be easiest to just give him the extra $40. This review still didn't have to go this way. I called the next day to explain what had happened. The owner said all the right things, and promised me that he would make it right. I would get a call an hour later to discuss, maybe come look at the damage, etc. That was 5/24/16......today is the evening of 6/2/16, and nothing. I could not imagine owning a moving company ( I own a small business) and allowing my employees to bully people, complain about their job to people, and damage someones possessions, all without consequences. I called Crescent Movers because of their Angies List profile, and what looked like very good reviews. I could not be much more dissatisfied. I would caution you to stay away from this company

My 91 year old mother-in-law decided to move to an independent living community. Crescent Movers came, represented by Alex, & gave me a very reasonable quote of about $3500. The quote was broken into the following segments: Base move, a fixed cost - $2630, packing materials estimate - $350, 6 hours packing estimate - $570. Between the price, & the previous reviews on here that I'd seen, we enlisted their services. He asked if we wanted to do the move in one day or two, and since it didn't matter to us (so I thought), I asked what would be easier for them, & they said all in one day. So, they arrived on time the day of, & got to packing. They worked non-stop & were thorough. I actually forgot to tell Walter to pack the contents of the buffet, but he looked inside, saw the dishes & packed them up. Walter, Jeremy & Jason (?) were friendly, professional & worked non-stop. Once they were done packing, Walter took me around & we counted all the boxes so he could accurately calculate the packing material cost. We used more boxes than expected, but only used 5 hours of packing time, so it ended up costing about the same as the total estimate. They were also nice enough to move a couple of items out of the basement & into the garage for the next family. Once the truck was loaded, off they went, & I'll admit that was all I saw, as other family members were waiting in MI. They reported that everything went very well on their end too; the guys were efficient & careful. The only problem, which wasn't their fault, was that by my choosing to do the move in one day, they didn't get to the destination until 11pm, & didn't finish unloading until the wee hours of the morning. Not their fault at all, but just a warning to those of you who might consider doing a long distance move in one day - it is a LONG day!

Walter, the crew lead, and his team of three others did a tremendous job with our move from a 2 Bed/2 Bath condo (plus large storage unit) to a 3-story single-family. They called ahead, showed up on time, were courteous to a person and very easy to work with. They could not have gone out of their way more to get things right for us and were just happy and personable throughout the move. The move took approximately 10h and their quote was very reasonable in light of the other quotes we got from big names in the industry ? our final cost was very close to the original estimate done over the phone, despite having taken extra time to go to our storage unit and getting each piece to the room we wanted and disassembled-wrapped-reassembled all furniture. The crew worked hard, every one of them for the entire time. The longest break we experienced any of them taking was 10 minutes (and that might be more than they took) to eat a couple of slices of pizza we ordered in for them halfway through. They would have stayed longer if needed to get the job done ? were not going to leave something undone due to a time estimate that was a little off. They were careful with the driving and moving of key objects. We did have other help come in a week prior to pack much of our belongings in boxes ahead of the move, but there were a fair amount of things to wrap/pad (grill, beds, other furniture). They didn?t overdo anything just to sell an extra box or roll of tape, but rather asked us if there was a judgment call as to whether to use additional materials or completely fill a box with mixed types of belongings. We would very highly recommend not only Crescent (courteous, prompt, helpful and accurate in the estimating and scheduling) but very specifically, Walter and his crew.

Scheduling everything over-the-phone was very easy. They were quick to respond and provide a quote, and an updated quote when our plans changed. They sent 3 men to move us. All were professional and worked very hard. They were punctual and gave us an overview everything as soon as they arrived, which was consistent with the quote we received over-the-phone. They treated our belongings with care.

I received a confirmation call 2 days before the move. The 3-person crew arrived as scheduled, moved me out of a 100-year-old city apartment building with very narrow access to the freight elevator. The crew was fantastic, unloaded quickly on the other end of the move. I have moved 6 times in the last 9 years, and Crescent was THE absolute best. And their price was great, very fair.

We were overall pleased with Crescent Movers for our move from our house in Chicago into our new 3rd floor condo in Glenview, IL The company did a very nice job setting up and scheduling our move The moving crew was on time, courteous, and efficient packing, loading & unloading our household goods. However, they taped some of our good wood furniture without first using padding to protect the wood, and the tape removed some finish on a few of the pieces. Also, there was a cross-grain scratch on the top of my antique walnut gate-leg table, which had been professionally refinished. I am not a "happy camper" about that... Because of those issues, I would give them a 3.5 out of 5 rating.

They did a good job overall. To begin with, they were very responsive when it came to quoting and scheduling the move. From a cost standpoint, they were by far the lowest big. Taking into account their good reviews I decided to move with them. Once I decided to move forward with them, communication was non existent. I sent 2 emails with questions regarding the move which they did not respond to. Also, did not call the day before to confirm the move either. So I was a little concerned they wouldn't show up. The day of the move, the guys called about 20 minutes before they were schedule to arrive to let me know they were on their way. A few things seemed to be a little higher, or at least different, than the original quote, but at the end of the day seemed reasonable. The main guy said that people normally tip $50-100 per guy, but tips aren't expected although appreciated. That seemed a little strange, but didn't really bother me. The move itself went well. A little longer than I had planned, but not unreasonable. The guys could have been a little more efficient with time and materials, but again not bad. They were polite and took good care of my things and my place. At the end of the day, with additional time, materials, and tip, cost ended up being about the same as the next estimate. I'd give them 4/5 stars, maybe a little higher. I just wish there was better communication up front.

We hired two guys to unload a truck into our apartment. We were moving into a 2 bed with very minimal furniture (pretty much just 1 bedroom and a few small pieces in the living room). The guys showed up on time and were efficient in unloading. They finished with about an hour left in our contracted time amount (they have a minimum of 3 hours). Since we had the time left, we asked them to put the bed frame together. They did it very quickly and haphazardly. In the end, they had put several dents in our walls while putting the bedframe together. After they left, we noticed the bed wasn't nearly as stable as it was before. Upon further inspection, I saw they had left about 6 screws and wooden dowels out. We ended up having to take the thing apart and put it back together ourselves correctly, which was a huge time waste. I complained to the company and they said they docked the workers, but we never actually got any reparations... They offered to come by and paint the dents, but at that point, we really just didn't want to deal with them anymore.

The guys did a fantastic job! The Walter's crew arrived on time and started working immediately. They strapped boxes to their back and worked very efficiently. The weather reached 90 degrees, but they never slacked off. They were friendly and responsive through the whole process. This was by far the best moving experience we ever had and I will recommend them to all my friends. The final cost was exactly as what Maggie quoted me over the phone. Highly recommend!

The team that I worked with was very knowledgeable. They did an excellent job in wrapping up and protecting my belongings. They moved quickly. I have no idea if their price was really competitive in the market but to me, it was perfectly reasonable. The crew that I worked with was very good so I would give that crew an "A".
