Description of Work: I obtained several quotes from different companies to have my facade tuckpointed and the limestone coping re-set and sealed. Classic was the only company that said they mixed their own mortar. I had my old building tuckpointed and when the wrong mortar (pre-mixed) was used, we had problems with effervescence and crumbling brick. Also, Classic was the only one that noticed that my window lintels needed replacing (sort of my test along with the mortar question). While they were the most expensive quote (because they were the only ones that quoted the window lintels too) I picked them because they got all my test questions right. They ended up being able to match our face brick perfectly. The window lintel job was a little messy - the only reason they didn't get an A in professionalism. I wish they had told me to put up plastic prior to starting. However, they did a great job, the work looks great, and all the problems we had with leaking have gone away. They also kept me up to date on when they'd be done (weather permitting) so I could schedule the window replacement immediately following.

+ -1 moreJAMES MAHONEY'S PEOPLE REBUILT THE STAIRS, CHEMICALLY CLEANED THE STONE FRONT OF THE BUILDING, REMOVED AN OLD SIDEWALK AND POURED A NEW SIDEWALK. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULT. THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, AND FINISHED THE JOB ON TIME. WE HAVE A 100 YEAR OLD GREYSTONE, AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I HAVE HIRED THEM FOR ADDITIONAL WORK ON ANOTHER PROPERTY.

+ -1 moreI CALLED THIS COMPANY AS A RESULT OF ANGIE'S LIST. I GAVE HIM COPIES OF MY BLUEPRINTS FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE. HE GAVE ME SUGGESTIONS WHERE TO LOOK FOR VARIOUS STONES AND TILES TO BE USED. I HAD TO KEEP CALLING TO MAINTAIN THE CONTACT. I NEVER RECEIVED A QUOTE FOR THE JOB AS THERE WAS LITTLE FOLLOW THROUGH ON THE COMPANY'S PART. MR. MAHONEY SEEMED VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL AT FIRST BUT NEVER GOT BACK TO ME SO WE COULD MOVE FORWARD ON MY PROJECT. THUS REINFORCING ONE OF THE REASONS FOR DEVELOPING ANGIE'S LIST; TO AVOID THE LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH WITH CONTRACTORS.
Description of Work: I SPOKE WITH A MR. MAHONEY WHO CAME OUT TO MY HOUSE, TOOK MEASUREMENTS, ETC. FOR SOME OUTSIDE TILE WORK.
