Chicago Glass and Mirror

Initially they were fast and responsive. Came within a day after we called for an estimate. we quickly agreed and gave a 50% deposit. They said it would take 10 days. Then we never heard from them again. After 2 weeks I called and said I had been told 10 days. A snooty guy said they meant 10 business days. Of course I had waited 10 business days. Anyway, I was told someone would call when they had a delivery date. No one called so I called. oh, they said, it is ready to be delivered and installed.

These people were horrible to deal with. I had another glass company look at my shower who discoved some problems with my shower being plumb. I contacted Chicago Glass an Mirror for a second opinion. To my surprise,they sent a person who was only a salesman. He did not even have a level or ruler with him so we were unable to determine if they could do my job. In addition he didn't bring any samples of the different types of glass they offered. I was told I could only see glass samples at their showroom,which was not only inconvenient for me,but I needed to see the glass in my bathroom with my tile. I was then informed they would not even measure until they had a 50% nonrefundable deposit. This was unacceptable to me. When Phoned to speak to a manager; he screamed at me and berated me. I was appalled to say the least. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH CG&M.(although they will be more than happy to waste YOUR TIME!)

It was an absolute pleasure working with Simon and the entire rest of the amazing Chicago Glass & Mirror staff. Not only did they provide excellent service all the way through- from a free in-home consultation, excellent service when we visited their showroom and the actual installation, but we had a couple of follow-up problems that needed to be addressed (not because of them, but because of our guests and their use of doors) and the team was great every time with follow-up help.

Everything went very smoothly. Simon showed up on time (actually early!) to estimate the cost of the job. During our discussion he offered another design option that actually worked out much better. The installers showed up on time, did an excellent job, and left the site clean. Overall we are very satisfied and will use Chicago Glass and Mirror in the future.

Within the span of three weeks, we went to the showroom to look at shower doors, got our first measure date, got our final measure date and had the glass door installed. Everyone we worked with, from Bob the owner to the schedulers, the measuring people and installers were all top-notch and very professional. We are extremely pleased with the final product and would highly recommend Chicago Glass ad Mirror.

I shop hard with an eye toward both quality and value for my dollar. When I can combine that with buying from a small, owner-operated business with a family-like feeling, it's a no-brainer, a home run, a touchdown, or whatever metaphor appeals to you most. Chicago Glass & Mirror fits that description to a "T". Everyone I dealt with at this company – including Bob (the owner), Simon, Javier, Raffa, and the installers, Justin and Jason – were professional and personable and inspired confidence in their competence. The glass was installed perfectly and looks gorgeous and makes me smile every time I look at it. I cannot recommend this company enough. On a scale of 1 to 10, they get an 11.

Excellent service. Called for an estimate for a new shower door enclosure and they scheduled a visit for measurement and estimate the following week. Price was on par with other estimates, but with the Angies List discount, it came out a bit cheaper. Once the estimate was signed, they came back out to do the laser measurement to get everything exact. 10 days to manufacture and then they installed. Everything looks fantastic and they installers were very professional. Would recommend them for any glass work.

Everyone was excellent - installers, Bob, Yuridia who answered my calls and emails, Chico the scheduler - everyone. Professional, worked with me to solve a problem, timely, showed up as promised. Would definitely work with them again. They had several options for shower door styles which was great. The only suggestion I have is for them to offer the customer the opportunity to use their own handles on the shower doors - there were not that many to choose from. But other than that, they were great.

On budget and on time. The shower looks beautiful...excellent work!

Mr. Buckmaster came to our condo unit to do some measuring. He was prompt and helpful. This was in February. On Feb. 28th we went to the showroom. Again he was very helpful in helping us decide exactly what we wanted. We signed a contract that day. Thus began a SIX MONTH saga. We do not live in the condo unit where the work was being done; our son and daughter-in-law are temporary residents. Whenever work was supposed to be done, we made clear to Chicago Glass which cell phone number to use to contact us:our son's, my wife's or mine. The communication between the office people, their crews and us, the customers, was TERRIBLE. I drove into the city from Naperville to be on hand for the first measurement of the shower panel. No one showed up. They had called our home number to say the panel had been destroyed. They left a message rather contacting someone, anyone directly. Months would go by with absolutely no communication between Chicago Glass and us. When after long periods of silence, I took the initiative to contact Mr. Buckmaster, he was all apologies and assured us that the product was just about ready. Eventually the shower panel was installed, but we were told the mirror (now five months from contract signing) had been imperfectly manufactured. We had the faulty one installed so our son and daughter-in-law would have a full size mirror in the bathroom. When (at the end of July) the properly manufactured mirror was finally to be installed, again we received no call of any kind to let us know the crew had been delayed. We had to call the showroom to get that information. Two pieces of glass, a six month wait, endless excuses. Bottom line: good product, TERRIBLE customer service.

Simon Buckmaster, Project Manager/Sales assisted us with selections and is talented relative to interior design. Overall we are satisfied with the quality and installation. There was an issue with the second bathroom shower door as it appears that the manufacturing cut was a little off. The installer was asked to review this twice by Simon Buckmaster and the installer deemed the gap between the wall and the door on the hinge side to be acceptable. I took measurements of the gap and conveyed this information to Simon Buckmaster who agreed the gap was not acceptable and committed to recutting the door if a larger plastic strip did not resolve the problem. A different installer was sent the third time and he installed the larger plastic strip that resolved the problem. The installer, that would not admit to the unacceptable gap, installed the glass shelves in the master bathroom and clear sealant was left on one of the glass shelves. I asked a staff member that was performing measurements to remove the sealant from the glass shelf and he performed this task.

I felt they provided a solid service. I worked with Simon who was really easy to work with. My only concern was they never followed up after I received a quote. In fact, none of the glass companies I got quotes from followed up. Anyway, the quality of the glasswork and mirror work is excellent. The person who came to measure told me that my tile work was so uneven (which I knew) that the glass would have to be custom cut. The mirror also had to be custom cut because the drywall work was uneven as well. He was there for quite some time to measure and make sure everything was going to run smooth on install. The install guys were there for maybe 3 hours. The finished look of the glass is amazing. They did an excellent job. Small complaint though is that they did crack a tile slightly and didn't tell me about it. There were also a few metal shavings on my carpet which I would have liked cleaned up, but overall the glass looks good.

It worked out very very well. They were prompt at a competitive price. They were also efficient and friendly.

I had a 7 foot tall steam shower door shatter all over me when I tried to replace a drip edge myself. So, I needed it replaced. Chicago Glass and Mirror came out the very next day after contacting them to provide an estimate, then sent a follow-up meeting to laser measure because the fit had to be perfect. After a couple weeks, the door was ready, and they installed it (and the replacement hardware) in about an hour. It matched perfectly and you'd never know anything happened. Would highly recommend them and use them again for any glass needs.

We needed a new shower door associated with a bathroom remodel. Called a couple times to check prices and processes for completing the transaction. Decided to use them based on the competitive quote and the confidence they demonstrated in the job. After that things went very smoothly from measuring, to quoting to installation. The end job looks great, measuring was excellent and the doors are working great

Simon couldn't have been more helpful. He was professional and responsive and provided wonderful feedback on the initial walk-through. Even though the scope of the project and deliverables had to change part way through, Chicago Glass couldn't have been more flexible in working with me. Recently we had an issue with a shower door which became unaligned (not due to their work, but due to how are guests have been using the door). I called the company, they came out immediately and fixed the issue and taught us what to do to prevent this from happening again. I couldn't be more pleased!

They were very easy to work with and the price was very fair compared to others that we priced out. The staff at their store were very friendly and the installers were quick and professional. There was a small chip on one end of the door and they came back and fixed it when I informed them of the chip. I would use them again in a heart beat!.

The service was great they came out and measured and gace a date of when to epect the product and it was delievered on time and service was fast clean and installers were very professional.

Experience in the sales process was excellent. Minor mixup in scheduling one visit which was corrected. Onsite workers were very professional.

Chicago Glass and Mirror did a great job from start to finish in measuring and installing custom glass shower door. Simon and Joey are both very professional and easy to work with. They stuck with original quotes and timeframes.
