They were very professional, and, other than some confusion on scheduling the initial visit, very punctual and responsive. Joe visited the building and carefully checked everything out before writing up an estimate. I also asked him about other vents (kitchen and bathroom exhaust vents). He was willing to tackle them as well, but let me know that other service procedures offered by other companies would probably be more appropriate for them. I was impressed by his honesty on this matter, and it's one of the reasons I hired him. He showed me the equipment they would be using and explained the process. His estimate was in line with what other reputable dryer vent cleaning companies charge. He and his partner arrived promptly and spent the whole day cleaning the vents. Everything went as promised, even though some of the vents were much dustier than expected. The final price was precisely as estimated. The owners' dryers work much better now. I intend to use Chicago Duct again in the future.

Joe was a little bit late, but he did call before to let me know. He was great and is keeping the price the same since I am a repeat Angie's List customer!

This was a wonderful experience. I had called him for a dryer line cleaning because a dryer repair man had told me that is why my dryer had intermittent shut off. We used this company for our total house duct cleaning 2 years prior and so I felt comfortable with them. He came to clean dryer vent, but then discovered that our dryer line within the utility room was too long, causing the dryer to work harder. He shortened this line. He also discovered either the contractor or the appliance repair man had used duct tape as a connection to the dryer rather than metal tape, which is a fire hazard. He also found a tear in our dryer line, which he removed. He had me feel the difference in the outtake vent prior to cleaning and afterward, so I could both see and feel the difference. There was a significant difference between the amount of heat and pressure that I could feel prior to cleaning and afterward. He came out to do a simple cleaning and instead provided a full service cleaning, both improving the performance of our dryer and reducing our risk of fire.

The service was good. It was exactly what we paid for. They were prompt courteous and professional and they did a good job. they price was reasonable and they were through and good at explaining what the were doing.

He gave a long explanation of his services when I first called him, and asked me questions about my house. I wanted him to come out as soon as possible, but he said he was booked up that week and into the next. He was about to book me for a couple weeks out until I asked him about the weekend. At first he said that Saturdays were his busiest days; then he said he could do it on Saturday, after all. On the day of the scheduled cleaning, he showed up 45 minutes late. When I showed him our furnaces he said he couldn't clean the ducts in our home. He claimed that I hadn't told him that we have two furnaces in our home. In fact, he had only asked me the size of our home, not the number of furnaces. He said he would have to come back with different equipment and a larger crew in order to do two furnaces. Instead of making an attempt to reschedule, he lectured me again about the uniqueness of his service. His quoted price was much higher than other duct cleaning services I've looked at since. What a headache! I don't plan to call him back and surely don't recommend him.

Joe and his helper arrived on time. (Joe even called ahead confirming they were on the way). Upon arrival, Joe asked for and was given a brief tour of the house. They then began setting up to do the work. Before starting they confirmed the price quoted and I was informed of the steps involved in cleaning the ducts, and that they would need to cut holes in the main lines in order to vacuum out the debris. They then began cleaning the ducts. I was able to observe them during the entire process. I found them to be very methodical and detail oriented. It was also quite obvious that they had been doing this for some time and were very efficient at it. The amount of time that Joe had quoted for the task was right on. Once they had finished, Joe showed me an example of the stuff that was in the ducts and then showed me my now clean ducts. Both were impressive. Joe and his helper cleaned up and were gone within another 30 minutes. After they had left you could hardly tell they had been there. The holes they had put in the main lines were neatly covered and all register covers replaced and fastened.

I cannot say enough about them. I was shocked by how reasonably priced they were, I expected cost more than they charged. That were right on the estimate. They came out as scheduled and got the job done in no time.

He explained everything thoroughly before he performed the work. He was very prompt and efficiently. He got the job done fairly quickly. He was very professional as well.

They were courteous, professional and thorough. Although the job took longer than they originally expected, they did not charge us extra. They did a great job and took pride in their work. We appreciate it.

This was my first experience with them. They were honest, upfront, clean, unobtrusive, and fast. There were no surprises. I will use them again.

Joe returned my call promptly and scheduled an appointment at my convenience. He called the day before to reconfirm the appointment. He and his assistant were efficient, competent, thorough. They cleaned up nicely when they were finished.

Joe could not give me an exact price over the phone because I did not know the square footage of my three units. He quoted me 1000 for 3 units or 750 for two units but said it was not guaranteed because he didn't know the exact footage. I scheduled him for 5 days later (Saturday) for two units and said I would call him back on the third unit. I called him back the next day and left him a message saying that I wanted him to come out for an estimate instead since the third unit did not want it done Saturday but next Saturday. He called back the next days saying he was confirming that he was doing the work Saturday. I called him again and left him a message saying I didn't want him to do the work and wanted an estimate. He called back again the next day saying he was confirming that he was going to do the work. Finally I got a hold of him and informed him I did not want him to do the work because the third unit wasn't ready to have the work done that Saturday and wanted an estimate instead since he originally informed me if he had to come out twice and couldn't do all the units in the same day, he would charge me more. He then informed me that he would have to charge me for the estimate. I called another company instead, got a prompt estimate at $200 cheaper WITH Commercial Equipment AND sanitizing and Dryer Cleaning for $800.

Once the covers were removed, I was able to see how filthy the ducts were. I could hear the dirt being sucked out of the house by the vacuum hose. I thought Joe did a very thorough job cleaning our whole system. He was very careful in everything he did, from placing tarps under his equipment to patiently removing covers that had been painted shut. He gave me a thorough understanding of what he was doing and why. We feel that the air quality in our house has been much improved. He takes great care in his work and we were very pleased.

Joe is knowledgeable about his trade and also pleasant to work with. The service is expensive, but Chicago Duct seems to do a MUCH more complete job than the previous contractor who did it two years ago. I would recommended this group to people who really care about the quality of the air they breath in their homes.

Agree with previous complaint about this vendor, diva like and annoying. We called for an appt. and then when Joe did call back, an entire dissertation on his services and charges were explained for at least twenty minutes. However, he failed to mention the most important factor they have limited equipment capacity and work on certain residential homes. After waiting for weeks for the appt. although we had a deadline (apparently his only availability), calling to confirm arrival time the day of, since he requested a four hour window, he showed up 30 minutes late and then 10 minutes later told me he could not do the job. When I had questions about alternatives, he indicated they do most commercial properties; he had to leave right away and to call if I had questions. Although I left several messages for him, he never returned my call. I called another company on Angie's List and have had excellent results - they came within 3 days vs. weeks and were less expensive. Give me a break!

It is expensive, but he explained and showed me that the cleanings I have had in the past never included the trunk lines. The price was worth it, and they spent a lot of time here. Very friendly and helpful- they showed me how to install filters on the registers to help my husband;'s allergies.

It went very well and they even did extra work without charging me more.

When I called to set up a cleaning, Joe told me in detail the way the job would be done and to expect it to take about 2-4 hrs. He was polite, friendly, and conscientious both on the phone and in person. Joe was about a half hour later than scheduled, but he called to let me know and got right to work when he got here. He was very nice about me following him around the house, asking questions as he worked. This is the first time in the 10+ years of living here that we had these cleaned and there was a lot of dust to be removed! The machine that was outside our home was very noisy (and dusty when the machine was first turned on), but only hoses were brought into the house. It did appear this set up was very effective in cleaning.

Joe is a thorough professional. When he realized he was going to be a few minutes late, he called to tell me so. He showed up well within ten minutes of our original time. He has a very positive, can-do attitude. Although he dislikes cleaning out ducts with his hands. He once pulled out a baby bird that died. He's still sad about that experience. Besides, he has these big machines to clean out ducts But he ended up cleaning out the duct with his hands because that was the only way he could solve the problem and help me. I made a standing appointment with Joe to check out the duct annually. I heartily recommend Joe and Chicago Duct Cleaning Company.

I was going to be moving in and decided to have this done before I did. They were excellent and responsive to all of my questions and I had a lot of them. They were very patient and clear in explaining the process, which I found to be very cool. They did a great job and had it done when they said they would.

They did a very good job. The only problem we had was that they had to reschedule us once. Apparently, they had a problem with their equipment, but they called and let us know. The price includes an extra $25 we paid for some allergy stuff they use to treat the carpet.

Annoying and silly complexity and self-importance for basically sucking dirt out of vents. I spent weeks of voice mail tag with Joe, each time sitting through 5 minute dissertations on him and his services, at time and expense, to set up an appointment. Schedule was made more difficult by his insistence that they a) have up to 4 hours b) that someone be home. So that limited to Saturday appointment. When Saturday appointment FINALLY came I realized from a flyer on my door that there was to be a block party that afternoon and asked if they could please start an hour early to finish before 1:30 PM street close which prompted another long winded bit of grief/ diva behavior (as well as blaming me for wanting to be home and forcing Saturday appointment!) and a cancellation of the appointment all this over 1 hour difference in schedule request. Furious, we called another company in yellow pages that showed up in 3 days with same equipment and did the work in 90 minutes. Gimme a break.

I made the appointment with Joe the week previous and he took the time to explain his process. His company uses industrial hoses that make a suction with the furnace and are very high powered. Although he was a 1/2 hour late on the day of the appointment, he apologized profusely and got to work immediately. He was at the house for two hours. Not only did he clean the ducts but he reconnected ducts that had been disconnected by the previous owners. He essentially solved the air conditioning problem we were having on the second floor. He also used a sanitizer that had no smell to it at all. He was courteous and extremely thorough. I recommend him highly.

Went perfectly. Joe came when he said he would, did exactly what he said, explained everything as he went along and did a wonderful job.
