Great job! Charlie and Scott have been servicing my HVAC system for over 15 years. They are consistently professional, knowledgeable, careful and competent. And they answer all my questions. The old Payne condensers and coils were about 12 years old and leaking refrigerant; it was time to replace them. Charlie and Scott removed the old condensers and coils and installed new units. Job took about 1 1/2 days to complete. Terrific experience working with them.

Charles responded to calls right away; he had done work in the neighborhood before and is known and liked by other neighbors. He and Scott came right away and gave an assessment of the systems in the townhouse we had just purchased. The furnaces needed cleaning, which they did, and the humidifiers were not working. Charles and Scott did a professional cleaning and service and gave an estimate for new humidifiers, which was reasonable. They returned at my request to replace the humidifiers and do a valve repair on the water heater. When they had to be a little late due to a snowstorm, Charles called promptly and kept in touch as they were traveling. They were neat and courteous and completed all work to our satisfaction.

We had to call twice to get a call. Of course, it's been terrible winter, I'm sure they were busy but he did not call us back with a price quote like he said he would, we had to call him again.(I think it was about 5 days later) The price to repair it seemed steep.He said it would take about 6 hours, $1,380. parts were bought eventually by us for $400 (that would have made the labor cost about several hundred dollars an hour. We decided to do the repair ourselves. He was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. He did not check anything else except for the valves. As long as they are there, it's surprising they didn't give the system a cursory check since we were being charged a minimum of a $95.00 service charge for spending about 20 minutes looking at it.

Chas came out himself to do work, which is always reassuring. He soaped up common connections that would be potential areas for gas leaks and did a gas detection test. I had my own detector and didn't find anything prior, but I wanted a professional to confirm my findings. Chas also gave me advice on the furnace and filters, telling me to use less expensive filters during an upcoming flooring project. It was an obvious suggestion, but with everything going on while moving into a new house, it nice to know someone was 'treating it like his own'. Definitely would hire Chas Heating again.

i would definitely recommend Chas Heating for any type of HVAC or HW heater work. They have been punctual and surprisingly speedy every time. In the office (an 80 person engineering firm), they were able to do the HVAC work with a minimum of disruption. Their courtesy and demeanor fit right into the professional office environment.

I couldn't be home for the estimate, but Charlie was nice enough to meet with my mother and give me the details over the phone. Even though his estimate and write-up wasn't as thorough as the others I received, Charlie really seemed knowledgeable. He shared some good information and advice. His estimate was higher than the others so I didn't use them for the work.

I had water dripping from my ceiling, under my air conditioning duct. After breaking open our ceiling to find out where the water was coming from, I gave Chas Heating and Air a call since they did the annual service of my furnace the year before. They came out the same day I called them and conducted a thorough inspection of my air conditioning unit. They said the problem was due to the fact that my duct work had not been entirely insulated and was causing the ducts to condensate. When Charles and Scott came over to re-insulate the duct work, they discovered an issue in a different location than the duct work that was exposed in the ceiling. It turns out that a huge vertical duct located in our upstairs closet was only insulated on one side and not all four, causing the condensation to literally 'rain' on the duct below in the ceiling of our first floor. They were so great about explaining the problem to me ... and they had everything they needed to open up the wall more and completely insulate the duct on all four sides of the vertical duct, as well as the exposed ducts in the ceiling on our first floor. From the very beginning of this project, they were the ultimate professionals. They fielded every question I had (I had a lot due to the severity of my situation). I was really impressed on how thorough and detailed their solution was. There was never I time where I felt they didn't know what they were talking about ... or where I felt they were just adding on to the project to increase the bill. They spent close to six hours making sure everything was insulated properly and in place. And, even though they found more problems than they originally thought, they charged me the same amount they originally estimated. Given the time and detail of the work they completed, I thought their fee was incredibly reasonable. And, as a result, I no longer have water dripping from my ceiling and my unit is running more efficiently! I am completely confident that they solved the issue and that my home is now better off because of their work. Despite the mess of breaking open holes in the wall, and using different types of insulation to finish the job, they left my house spotless! I would recommend these guys anytime!!! They will forever be the company we turn to for a/c and furnace maintenance. They are incredibly great at what they do, they are meticulous and really care about their customers. Definitely a company you can trust!

Our central air conked out just days before the weather was supposed to hit the upper 90s, so I was desperate to find someone who could come out and take a look at it. I called Chas Heating, and luckily they were able to give me an appointment the very next morning. Over the phone they were upfront about the cost of the service call, and that any services performed would be additional. When the service technician arrived the next morning, I started to tell him what was going on, and he knew what the problem was before I even finished telling him! He determined that we were low on refrigerant, and refilled the unit with 3 pounds worth. He also did a visual inspection for leaks, and determined that the likely reason for the unit being low was that it was filled with coolant during the winter (a no no, apparently). He also gave me several pointers and tips on things to watch out for with my heating and cooling system, which this new homeowner definitely needed! Less than an hour after he arrived the central air conditioner was up and running, and the house has been nice and cool ever since!

They take their time to be thorough, honest and timely in every encounter. I recommend their services to anyone.

The ductwork in the 2nd story of my house was installed incorrectly at the time it was built. The HVAC contractor used flex duct work and ran the stuff everywhere without concern for actual air flow. The system barely allowed any airflow at the end of the lines. I negotiated a price with Charles to remove the flex duct work, reconfigure my plenum and install hard duct work for the system. They started on time and completed the work on schedule. My wife and 2 year old child were home at all times during the work and the crew was polite, clean and as quite as they could be during the entire process. I would definitely recommend Chas for any major or minor repairs.

Went great. Charles spent time to explain how the humidifiers worked so I could adjust them over the winter. I would definitely recommend them and would hire again.

I called on Monday afternoon and got an appointment for the next morning. Charles was able to quickly identify the issue with the furnace not always heating when it fired up. He was able to fix it by simply cleaning a safety sensor that was put in to make sure that the flame was lighting when gas was flowing. Then he cleaned the furnace and was on his way. He kept me informed of what he was doing and explained the issue and resolution in detail.

He arrived on time for the estimate on Nov 1. He gave us 2 options total boiler replacement (ours is 25+ years old) for $5000 or replace the bad electronics and get the boiler going for $1100. Since we were not able to afford a new boiler, we went with option 2. He came back on Friday (on time again) with an assistant and started working right away. Boiler was cleaned and parts replaced and working within 2 hours. He did replace a thermostat and one other part not included in his original estimate. He also agreed to work with us later when we are ready to do the total replacement. Very courteous, honest and professional. He didn't try to talk us into total boiler replacement right away. We will definitely use him again and recommend him to all our friends.

It went perfectly well! We learned about the air conditioner and all its quirks and the condensation problem was solved.

8 years ago, Charlie and his crew installed two split-duct air conditioning units in my house. My house has hot water heat with radiators, so conventional central ac was not an option. These units have performed wonderfully, keeping the house cool and the humidity low. Every year I hire Charlie to perform the annual maintenance, and he always comes out personally, and always asks about my family.
