Representative came by to give me an estimate to build a brick mailbox with a light on top. The representative looked at the scope of work and told me he would send me a proposal that evening. I never heard from him. The following day, I called his office and was told they would have him contact me. My call was never returned. Buyer beware!

They took a picture of my chimney and sent it to me. They was just trying to drum up business. They look at different chimneys and stuff in the area. Would you like for us to come out and give you an estimate for this work. There was no charge for the estimate. They were very professional. They were punctual. Overall, they were very responsive. They also do some concrete work and while they were there I asked for a couple of other estimates. They gave me feedback for some other things. They were informative. I had some questions about some other things. They answered my questions. They were helpful and gave me ideas of do I want to do this. They were flexible.

It didn't. They came out and gave an estimate, we signed the contract then nothing. We called and called and then canceled..... at that point we were told 'oh you were on the schedule for Monday'.... too bad no one bothered to call and let us know.

The initial work was done last fall (October or November) so it's kind of hard for me to remember exactly how long it took for them to actually start the work. But I had to call them back 2-3 times after the times when they said they would start the work. I always had to reach out to them when they said they would contact me. When they finally showed up they did not complete the work. The put the tar on the roof but not the silver coating. It took several more calls before they finally told me they would have to wait until Spring to do the silver coating. They just finished the coating and, OF COURSE, they called me to get paid.

We walked around the whole house. He said he would give me an estimate. It took a little time but that was okay. He gave me a "general" estimate. I wanted to make sure that what we talked about was in the estimate. I contacted him and asked him to be more specific and I never heard back.

I called Cahill for a tuckpointing quote and was told that an inspection would happen a few days later. Cahill called me back the next day to ask why I had called, so I had to set up the appointment all over again. I called a week after my estimate was promised and was told that it was sitting in the owner's box waiting for approval, but that they would email the estimate to to me that day. I called again the next day and was told the same thing. Another week has passed and I still do not have the estimate (and I check my junk email folder). Even if they were to send me the lowest quote now I simply would not trust this company to actually do the work on time, or at all. Polite on the phone, but otherwise completely disorganized and unprofessional.

They did a good job overall experience was nice.

My wife and I are very pleased with the rebuilt chimney's appearance. The "A" for price is due to Martin Cahill's experience, which resulted in the overall appearance of the house being maintained at a lesser cost. The other bidders offered to repair the damaged mortar which would not include the replacement of the damaged bricks, or rebuild the entire chimney. If we rebuilt the entire chimney, the bricks would not match the rest of the house and the extra work and material would add to the cost. On the day Martin provided the estimate, he said he could match the existing brick, but the day the workmen came, there was no match. Instead, the workman advised that they would use limstone to replace the three top courses of brick and salvage the existing brick for the 4th course. Again, we were very pleased with the results.

We had problems with them. They used rocks on our modern walls. The scheduled us for a day 7 a.m in the morning and they never showed up but when I called them they said it was raining. They called all the workers to cancel the work appointment but never called to notify us about this so we kept waiting on our day off. Moreover it never rained that day and when I called the owner he wasn't very apologetic and told me he was too busy calling his workers to cancel the work and forgot to call me. They damaged my wall and it has now taken us over a full year to repair work done. Our chimney is now fine but we were not happy with their services. I would not use them again.

Their prices were comparable and they did an excellent job in a timely manner.

They came out ready to work. They had everything what they needed to work that time. Everybody came out to do what they had to do. They cleaned up after themselves. They had everything they needed to haul the way. I was happy with that.

They were able to complete the repair in one day. They came back once in person and called once to ensure we were satisfied with the work done.

On 06/28/2014 I had an estimate for tucking done, I received a proposal by mail but it was incorrect. I called to have it state the work I was quoted by Michael when he came out and looked at what I wanted done. I received a corrected estimate by email and signed it and sent it back on Monday, July 21, 2014. When I didn't hear anything by Friday, July 25, 2014, I called and was told that they were doing the scheduling on Monday July 28, 2014. I didn't hear anything until the following first week in August. I was then scheduled for Friday, August 22,2014. On Friday I received a phone call asking if they could come out on Saturday August 23, 2014 because the rain had put them behind. I said that wasnt' a problem. Come Saturday they were suppose to come out around 2 pm, well no one showed up or called to let me know that they were not coming. I thought that I would receive a call telling me I would be next on the list but not so. I didn't hear from anyone until the week of August 25, 2014. I asked for another Saturday appointment because I needed to be there when the work was done. I was told that because of the holiday weekend they were not working on Saturday. She would be back to me to let me know when they might be able to come out. I recieving a phone call on August 29, 2014 saying that they were in my neighborhood and could they come and do the work then. I told them I would ask if I could get off work early and that I wouldn't be home til about 3:30. She asked if they could start before I got home and I told her that would be okay. When I got home at 3:15, there wasn't anyone there, I waited until 4:30 and then called the office. I was told she would get hold of someone and have them call me. It is now Monday, September 8th and still no responce to my phone call on the 29th of August and still no appointment for them to start repairs. Please cancel my request for tuckpointing. I feel like I can't rely on Cahill Builders to do the work or follow up if I have a problem afterwards. The representative was very punctual, unfortunately my husband was not. The representative assessed the damage to our chimney and was very thorough. He was very kind on the phone-we also got a written proposal in the mail, I will definietly use them in the future.

Scheduling worked with me to get an appointment time as I was only available on Saturdays. I had several questions about the Chimney repair and tuckpointing and Marty Cahill and his staff answered every question within a timely manner. I never had to wait for any response rather via email or by phone. I really appreciated that level of attention to a customer with many questions. The scheduling process was great, the office team worked with me and followed up with me to make the appointment. On the day of service, the crew arrived promptly and began working. It was a crew of three guys, and they handled my home with care, and answered any questions I had on site. They finished the job within 5 hours and they cleaned up the materials used and left my home just as they found it with no debris on the neighbors property. The finished product was repaired properly and my chimney looks new again, and the house tuckpointing was really nice and it looks new again.

Overall, the work was done well and I am very happy after the resolution. For a 70 year old brick garage, it is now in good condition and should last for many decades. However, I would suggest that the home owner be on site while the work is being completed. In my situation, issues kept me from being home during construction, and therefore, I was not on the premises while the work was being completed and several issues were noticed at the end of the day, after the workers went home. I was disappointed that I was not notified, by the superintendents, immediately, and prior to making decisions based on their judgment. In fairness, they did make corrections. I would have been much more understanding if the superintendents contacted me immediately to discuss prior to the corrections. I had to complain to the owner, which he resolved, to my satisfaction. I believe they have learned from the mistakes and a good learning experience for the superintendents that were on the job.

The estimator came out very quickly after a call. I should say that this company took a photo of my chimney (pretty bad condition), sent it to me as a flyer, and listed other homes in the area where they'd done comparable work . This was very effective marketing. I drove by the homes to look at the work and it seemed good. It made me act on a long-standing repair issue that I was aware of. The proposal/contract arrived within a few days. The work, however, did not begin until almost a month later. This was somewhat perplexing. The chimney work was completed first. They did call first to tell me they'd be working. They left some debris in the yard from the rebuild. Otherwise, the chimney repairs look good, with the brick and grouting closely matching. I was quite pleased. Weeks later, the company called me while I was at work to tell me they were at my house installing the downspouts I'd ordered. But in the time since their proposal/contract, I'd put up a locked gate so that access to the back of the house was difficult. Had they called me before, I could've left the gate open. So here, I have to say their last-minute style was awkward. The downspouts were installed (God knows how they got in the back yard with the fences locked!) Seems like the rain is coming off the house better ever since. Their communication isn't the best. Their estimator was extremely professional. He really convinced me to go with them. I thought their price was pretty good (they let me make payments even!) too! I have some more masonry work to do and I will probably use them.

They were very professional and kept me informed on what they were doing. They did clean their mess up when they were done. They did good job for me and I even received some positive comments from my neighbors on the work. I would refer them to anybody needing this type of work.

They gave a prompt reasonable quote and scheduled the work within a week. They came on time and went beyond replacing the chimney as it was. They could not quite match the old brick so they came up with an attractive way of using the old brick as an accent pattern embedded in a newer brick. The chimney also has other nice little finish details making it more attractive than the old one. This was all done at no additional cost. They were quick and cleaned up well afterwards. They reused components as they could avoiding additional expenses for us. We would use them for any brick work we need.

I called Cahill on Friday and they told me they would be there on next Thursday at 12:00. On the day of the appointment, they called ahead of time. Cahill provided me with the most reasonable estimate. I received three other estimates, and for just the chimney lining companies were saying $1600. I am going to have the services done next month. I trust Cahill, because I have seen them do many jobs in my community. I will provide an update after they complete the work.

Cahill was very professional when drawing up proposals. They addressed all our questions right away. Their employees were very respectful and professional. They were punctual and finished the project on time. Martin Cahill (owner) came to inspect the job site to see that everything was going well. We were so amazed that the owner would take time to inspect a project. We appreciate doing work with Festus as well. He was very patient in answering all our concerns. We look forward to working in the future with Cahill and Festus!

They did a great job. They made sure they came on time, kept the site clean and worked quickly. They finished the work in 5 days. There was a lot of area to cover. They used professional materials and showed me the things they used. After they completed the work I had a few suggestions and they came right back and took care of it. A year later my neighbor said that he still had some minor leaks and Martin sent someone after scheduling with us and took care of it. I am glad that we still have people such as Cahill who perform quality work and stand by what they do.

I give Cahill credit for their persistence in marketing. For the last two years we have recieved letters with pictures of our crumbling chimneys suggesting repairs, and providing references for work that had been done for our neighbors. After checking into the references, we called and Festus was out the next day to write up a quote. The quote was fair and detailed exactly what work was to be completed. Quotes we received from other vendors were practically written on a cocktail napkin - no details, and only a price. Once we finally decided to do the work, they had someone comeout that afternoon and put sample mortar colors on our building so we could decide which color we thought looked best with our brick. By 12:00 the next afternoon the work was complete. They even checked the fireplace to make sure it was safe to use. We plan to use them to tuckpoint our entire house next spring.
