C V Hardwood Flooring

CV was a little higher priced than other 2 estimates we got, but we felt that Vasile (the owner and main worker) was easier to deal with. He was willing to do the job in 2 phases, so we didn't have to empty the whole house. He had to make 4 trips in order to do 2 coats on each half of the job, but was very flexible in fitting his schedule with ours, even coming on Mother's Day, when we decided last minute to have the second coat done.

It went unbelievably well. We have some horror stories about other work that has been done in our house and Vasile and his crew were one of the best work crews we have had!

After sanding, they put 3 coats of a swedish finish on the floor and stairs. It looks really good. C V was also the least expensive of three quotes.

The job went smoothly from start to finish. When I called Vasile, he agreed to come and estimate that very afternoon. He arrived on time, and gave me a price and recommendations for how to handle the job on the spot. We scheduled the job and he showed up on the designated date, and did the work as discussed. He and his crew were very helpful in moving furniture and helping me deal with the disruption caused by having to empty three rooms. He used low VOC finishing materials that were quick drying and caused a minimum of inconvenience, odor or irritation. My floors look great and I am very happy!

Great job! Hardwood flooring replacement is very messy and they made it as painless as possible. My new floors look and feel awesome. Better than I expected. A very clean and neat contractor.

Vasili showed up right on time, with many example photos of their work, which helped a lot in deciding what we wanted to do. Gave a very detailed estimate, including options for uncovering and refinishing original hardwood flooring where it was in good enough shape, and options depending on how much leveling needed to be done. Did an excellent job at leveling the old floor in our saggy house where it could be done by building up areas. Did a reasonable dust-collection job, although needed to be asked to cover basement areas (large amount of debris rained down there from the necessary banging on the kitchen floor) and tack up plastic over doorways to the rest of the house. In the end, the new floor and old refinished floor are gorgeous and perfectly adjoining. They used a finish with virtually no fumes. I did sometimes find it difficult to understand Vasili on the phone when an explanation needed to be detailed (the combination of his accent, cell phone reception, and my not knowing flooring vocabulary didn't work well); however, explanations in person where he could show me what he meant worked just fine. I plan to hire them again to refinish or replace other hardwood floors in the house.

Vasile was great to work with. He was prompt, would call before he arrived, performed the work, cleaned up and tried very hard to make us happy. The new oak floor install was pretty straightforward, but matching the existing stain was a challenge. We went through several types of stains and found one that was a good match to the existing stain. The repair of the 3' x 6' section of oak floor was very difficult. Vasile reinforced the sub floor to ensure the new spliced in boards would not squeak or move. Dove tailing in the new boards to look like the original installation was a challenge. Vasile went as far as hand sanding and custom matching the stain so it would blend in with the existing. It is basically impossible to perfectly match the new with the old without sanding and refinishing the entire 1,200 square feet. I elected to spot repair the floor. The repair he did was about as good as anyone could do. I am very happy with it considering I'm an architect and work with contractors every day. Vasile did a nice job on restoring a weather beaten oak entrance door and sidelight. He recommended a few ways to refinish and seal it with the various price points. I'm very happy with the end result. I will definitely hire CV Hardwood Floors again. Vasile was honest and true to his word.

Vasile is the best!!! From the initial phone call; he was very responsive and professional. There was certain language that I wanted to have spelled out in the contract and he had no problem modifying to my specifications. He and his crew were very punctual everyday and came in ready to work. Vasile is very knowledgeable and was able to answer the many questions that I posed to him over the course of the project. He provided his professional opinion when I was trying to decide on specifics regarding materials and gave me pros/cons to each scenario. He and his crew did an awesome job. I LOVE MY FLOORS!!! The quality of work is phenomenal and much better than the craftsmanship of the original flooring which was only 3 years old. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the Dust Control System that they used. I dreaded the dust and clean-up aftermath that I had heard came with having your floors sanded, but with his system there was little to no dust at all. I was very pleased. He was very mindful of how and where he placed his equipment/materials during the project so as to not damage the walls. I can't say enough positive things about the experience.

Incredibly careful in all details of work. The dustless sanding truly is virtually dustless, it is unbelievable. It is good for the consumer and for the workers. Have used C V's services before and would again. He went the extra mile to assure our satisfaction, even applying an extra coat beyond the contract because it was not as glossy as we expected. Floor looks super.

The giant vacuum worked quite well, so there was minimal dust. It was very convenient that they were willing to do individual rooms rather than insisting on doing the whole house at once. Vasile and his crew were kind and amiable throughout the process, which took three days. They were prompt, responsive and a pleasure to work with. I was very happy with the results. I can't really judge the price since I didn't get too many estimates (one company said they wouldn't do it because it would wreck their machines, another would only do the entire house) but it seemed reasonable to me.

First off, Vasile was able to come out for an estimate with only a few hours notice, and provided us with a very thorough quote, which detailed nearly every step in the process. He was able to start the work two days later and he and Miguel worked extremely hard to not only finish when he said he would, but did a beautiful job in the process. One item of note, they removed some of the existing wood to enable the new wood to flow into the existing wood and we cannot even tell which is new and which is old. They were also extremely clean, minimizing dust and debris in our condo as well as leaving no trace of their presence in our building. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our selection of CV Flooring, they really did an amazing job and we cannot say enough positive things.

Vasile and CV flooring is a very professional operation. While they weren't the cheapest bid I got, they were definitely among the most organized and professional. They also had outstanding reviews here, which was important to me. They used a dust-free system that created very little mess, which was great, and they worked long days to get this job done by my deadline (they would've worked even later into the night if I didn't have people living in the apartment below). Due to miscommunication there was one small conflict, but Vasile made it right in the end which was very professional. Now that the job is done, I am thrilled with the results. For my next flooring job I won't even bother getting multiple bids but will just go with CV since I know I can count on them to do it right at a fair price.

They did a great job, Vasile was great to work with. I had them come in on a Wednesday to do the main area and they worked from 8am to 8pm everyday. Process took about 2 weeks to complete because we had them do several repairs and replacement of the hallway as well as the sanding, refinishing and staining.

CV has a dust-less system. He came in and moved the furniture. He even made suggestions about the work as well. I was hesitant because I've used providers before to have my floors done and they haven't turned out the way that I wanted them to. CV did a wonderful job. I love, love, love them! They do what they say they are going to do. I plan on using them again soon.

I was was very pleased not only with how hard they worked, but also with the quality of their work. They are priced significantly more competitively then the competition and the floors look much better than I expected them to.

Vasile is very knowledgeable. We inquired about environmentally friendly products and he gave us several options. He was thorough in explaining the process and left us with several pieces of literature. The day the project started, his crew helped us move some furniture out of the room. This was a huge bonus because other companies would not offer to do this. He also replaced molding where necessary. His crew was very respectful of our property throughout the process. The end results were terrific.

After having a 3 day installation job turn into a 2 month nightmare, I joined and searched Angie's List for hardwood repair. I had a bedroom floor installed by a contractor who could not complete the job satisfactorily. I was looking for a dark stain on floor and the contractor improperly finished floor which resulted in the finish peeling and a very uneven stain. I contacted Vasile at CV who came out immediately, recognized the problem and stated he could refinish and re-stain the floor properly. I wanted to make sure he would do the work himself, which he did. He came out and refinished my floor and did a beautiful job, which he completed in 3-4 days. He had the difficult task of trying to match the stain from the connecting room, which I thought would be nearly impossible. I could not believe how great it turned out. He was prompt, professional and created just what I requested. I will be using his services again for another project and recommend him highly.

The work was not completed, but Vasile was extremely professional to deal with. He came to our home provided us a quote along with an education as to what we should be looking for.

Things went good. Vasile was able to come right out, inspect the work needing to get done, go get his supplies, and get the wood flooring installed. Over their next few days he came back out and put the various coats of finishing that were needed.

The first morning, when Vasile knew that he would be a little late, he phoned right away. The choice of stains showed me the kind of care he takes. He would not begin until I was completely satisfied. The sanding machine that they used vacuumed up most of the dust really amazing. (Another company - Mister Carpet - told me that if they did the floor sanding and refinishing, we would have to re-paint the entire area - glad we didn't go with them!) Vasile phoned me every morning to let me know when he would arrive. He finished on a Friday and I arranged to meet him on Saturday morning to pay the 50% balance. There were areas with which I was not satisfied. He came on Saturday morning, agreed with me, then returned with his crew later that day, buffed the floor, put another coat of finish on it, then buffed it again. The job exceeded my expectations. If you want to have someone who is professional, highly-skilled, experienced and has pride in his work, Vasile is the person you want.

Vasile and his crew were very prompt. When he knew he couldn't make it at the exact time, he would phone to let me know that he was caught in morning traffic. The first morning he sanded an area of the floor and applied four different stains so that we could decide which would come closest to the stain color already on the floor (which we wanted to retain). The match was perfect. At the end of the third day, we inspected the work and, while it was generally and remarkably beautiful, we found several areas where the finish was uneven or where some small globs of stain could be found. I told Vasile (by phone) that the floor needed a bit more work. He came the next day (Saturday) and buffed the floor and applied another coat of finish. The results were wonderful. I could not have been more pleased. For an additional price, Vasile removed all 1/4 shoe molding, bought brand new molding, painted it (and all the baseboards) and installed the 1/4 round perfectly. This was excellent work!

CV Hardwood Floors had refinished floors in a three flat in our neighborhood. We asked him for an estimate, looked at the apartment floors and gave him the job. He and his crew ripped out the hideous linoleum, thinking that maybe the floor underneath would be salvagable. It wasn't. We selected red oak, they seasoned it for 4-5 days in the house and then put down a beautiful new floor, sanded it, and sealed it. They have a huge machine that stayed outdoors and sucked out all the dust. I'm very happy with my new kitchen floor. Why didn't I do this sooner?

We had a very good experience with Vasile. He was very diligent and thorough in doing the job. He even moved the appliances out in the kitchen and refinished the floors behind them without us even mentioning it. Vasile and his crew cleaned up everything after themselves, so we were very pleased with their work. Vasile was very knowledgeable about hardwood flooring. He pointed out right away that we had a raiser that needed to be fixed, which we didn't even notice. The pricing was reasonable compared to other estimates we received. The only complaint we have is that Vasile was significantly late (1+ hour) every time we had to meet him, but then he finished the job on time, so we can't complain much about that.
