C V Hardwood Flooring

Vasile was a pleasure to work with. He was hardworking and trustworthy. He presented us with several options for fixing our floors from individual board replacement to a complete new floor. In the end we decided on his other suggestion which was to fix an area in which the floor had a dip then refinish the entire area. We were quite happy with his work. They worked quickly and did a great job of cleaning up after the sanding of the floors was complete. I would hire them again.

Very responsive in providing an estimate and providing options to finish stairs. Price quoted was final price, no additional charges. Provided options for water based, environmentally low VOC finishes. Was able to start project two days early and finished within timeframe indicated of 3 - 4 days. Floors look great and we were able to move-in on time.

I had just closed on my house and wanted to have the floors restained/varnished before moving in. I had less than two weeks to have this completed. With less than a week's notice, Wasile met me at the house on a Saturday morning. He had samples of the different woods and stains, and was obviously very knowledgeable about his craft. We established exactly what he and his team would do, as well as the time frame. Wasile gave me a quote on the spot, and I paid half in advance. He and his team finished the job on time and did exactly what was promised--and more. Wasile had provided a quote based on replacing two planks of wood. He actually had to replace three planks but would not take additional money. He and his team did an outstanding job on every aspect of the job. Everything was beautifully and precisely done, and they cleaned up all materials used.

The CV team was easy to work with and followed through with their commitments.

My upstairs neighbor has asthma which is irritated by fumes, so I appreciated CV's willingness to divide the project over two weekends when she was out of town. The project took approximately 3 days -- 1 day for the repair and sanding and 2 days for three coats of oil based poly which need 8 hours of drying time between coats. The repair work was remarkable. Vasile's father-in-law hand cut and fitted the replacement planks like an artist. You would never know that portions of the floor were replacements. I also appreciated Vasile's attention to detail and quality workmanship -- he actually removed my dishwasher to replace the floor underneath opposed to cutting the floor off at the kickplate which would have been easier and less expensive for CV. His quote also included 3 coats of poly whereas others only offered 2. Vasile is extremely responsive to phone calls and on time if not early for every appointment. He also moved my furniture for me free of charge. I gave them a slight mark off for professionalism because the work was messy -- very dusty, some stain and poly splashed on my walls, baseboards and toilet base, and his crew left my bathroom pretty dirty. However, the cleanup is a trade off for good quality work at a reasonable price.

Vasile was prompt, timely and very helpful. His work was excellent and we would use him again. He even offered to help move furniture back when we placed the carpets down a week later. Some companies wanted to stain around our large heavy dining room table, but Vasile and his crew moved it and placed it back. They completed our job ahead of schedule, were neat and also stayed late to finish the job on time. When they put the furniture back, they put felt pads on the bottoms of our furniture that did not already have it on. Vasile kept in touch throughout the entire job. I could not have been more pleased with the results.

Vasile gave us a good estimate and then was able to schedule the job promptly. His crew arrived on-time and did a nice job of taping everything off to minimize dust. They worked with us to get the stain color just right. They were supposed to apply 3 coats of polyurethane but there were a few imperfection in one area of the final coat which I wasn't happy about so they came back and fixed that plus put a fourth coat on...all for the original estimate. Vasile was eager to do a good job and we'd happily use him again.

I'm very pleased with CV Hardwoord Flooring. Vasile came out very promptly after I contacted his office for an estimate. I found Vasile through Angie's List and between the previous reports posted below and my first meeting with him, I really had a great feeling about this project: Vasile was curteous, kind, punctual, very professional and remained so until the end, as did his employees.The job was supposed to be completed in two days but it took a little longer because of the quality and age of the wood. Also, the weather did not make things any easier; this work took place during the dogs days of summer and sadly, there was no air conditioning in my living-room due to tuck-pointing being done on my building's facade. Even so, Vasile and his guys graciously worked without complaints. Although the work took longer than expected, Vasile stuck to the original estimate. He even fixed a few extra squeaky spots for me. When the work was over, my floor looked beautiful once again and the area was very nicely cleaned up. I cannot recommend Vasile enough. Everything written about him is true: he is a craftsman, a perfectionist, as well as an honest and very kind person. And yes, he does whistle while working. I've never had a worse experience with a company before. I wanted to get a quote for getting my hardwood floors refinished. I emailed them through Angie's list and they called me back to schedule an appointment. We made an appointment for Saturday at 1PM. The guy called me at 12PM and said he was there. I asked him if our appointment was made for 1PM. He said yes and that he was sorry and would wait for me to come over there. I was totally fine with them at this point even though they showed up an hour early. However after he told me he'd wait for me to get there (I told him it would take me 10 minutes), I got there and he was gone. I called him and he said he was just going to run to another appointment really quick and if I wouldn't mind waiting for him for 45 minutes! I was shocked that he even asked me this. I told him my tenant was waiting for him and I wasn't going to keep them waiting all day for him. He told me ok he'd turn around and head back to my place. I waited 15 minutes and called and asked him where he was. He told me he was 1 minute away. I waited 5 more minutes and called him and told him to cancel. He said he was still at the other appointment. I was appalled that he kept lying to me and KEPT ME WAITING WHEN HE HAD NO INTENTION OF SHOWING UP. I have zero respect for this company after the way I was treated. When I told him to just cancel our appointment since they clearly had no respect for customers, he actually had the nerve to ask if I'd like to reschedule. I then realized that this company has no idea how to run a business. I wouldn't trust them to do any type of work for me....ever. UPDATE: I forgot to update this after Vasili and crew came out. So after reading this Vasili called and corrected the matter with me. Apparently at the time he thought I was another customer and so we were on different wavelengths. Although this didn't make up for how poorly the original appointment happened, this company showed true professionalism in how they handled it going forward. I ended up using them and Vasili and his team worked extremely hard to get it done in the tigh timeline I had given them. I will definitely be using them again in the future. They corrected their mistakes and showed true professionalism which won them a new customer.

I did not go with them, but was very impressed and would have used them had they used the stain that was already on my floors.

CV did a great job.They met with us to discuss the job, gave us an estimate, helped in the sourcing and selection of hardwood, worked carefully and efficiently.Thier dustless sanding system left almost no dust in the home. They are perfectionists. We cannot be happier with the choice we made in going with CV.The flooring is beautiful

Our experience was excellent! The crew was punctual and the craftsmanship was awesome. Our floors were beautiful and turned out better then I'd imagined they would. I would definitely use them again should the need arise. I will recommend their services to my friends. We had our entire house refinished and had to move around our furniture as we live in the house and the owner was more then happy to make our process a four day process to accommodate our needs. We had a great experience working the Vasile and the CV crew. Vasile was punctual, incredibly knowledgeable, provided samples of stains and worked with us on what we were trying to accomplish and how to do it best. We're thrilled with the outcome.

The experience was very good, he's very personable, patient, patient, patient, hardworking, honest and believe it or not...he does whistle as he works. The job took a little over a week, each coat of finish needed time to dry but it was worth the inconvenience. The floors are beautiful. Thank you again, Vasille.

Very well. They did the work over the Memorial weekend so we were only mildly inconvenienced.

We called Vasile for an estimate & he showed up at the time and date we agreed upon. The price quote he gave us was great so we set up a date for the work to be done. The work was great. We can't remember the last time our floors looked so great.

Visile came out and provided a quote to either have the floors refinished or to replace the floors. We decided the have the floors refinished and stained a darker color than they originally were. They did a great job and our floors look new and amazing! We're very happy with the work and the cost.

I never used him. He was very accommodating and quoted me a good price. He was very informative about the installation procedure. He also had access to a lot of information. The only reason I didn?t use him was because he did not do new houses as his primary job. I found someone else who did this as mine was a new house. I would definitely look him up in the future, though.

It went very well. His estimates were accurate, and he did a very good job in a reasonable amount of time. He also took care to keep the work area clean and appreciated our concerns about the project.

Vasile was prompt (returned calls quickly and showed up when he said he would), prepared (brought samples, photographs of other jobs, and all his gear and machines when the time came) professional (gave me a written bid on the spot, cleaned up after themselves), nice (a really friendly guy) and he and his crew did a gorgeous job. I already recommended him to my neighbor and he did a superb job on her floor too. He also loaned me a set of his scraping tools (and showed me how to use them) between 2 visits so I could scrape paint off an old door and door frame! I got several bids for this job and Vasile was the least expensive, he was available relatively quickly and worked on a Saturday, too.

The guy who came brought the samples and put in on the floor so that we would be happy with it. He moved out all the furniture & rugs and worked. He was very conscientious and did really good work. He was excellent and a professional. He was a great communicator. He gave us lot of instructions and also called back to check whether we were happy with his work. He came back with another gentleman to move the rugs and furniture back in. They gave us more hints on taking care of the floor. He also recommended another color and a different finish. I am happy that I listened what he suggested as the floor turned out to be beautiful. We couldn't be happier. I would recommend him not only for his work but also for his demeanor. He used excellent products and he took time to make sure everything was done properly. He also took time to make sure that we were 100% happy with his work. He was really wonderful.

He is an excellent craftsmen. I don't think he should have sanded the new floor. We have an old parquet floor. After the sanding job it totally buckled up. I think he should have know the moisture from the stain, put on by another person, would have made it buckle up.

It was a great experience. He was prompt, explained the various types of wood we had in the house, his opinion and provided us with looking at various stained looks and pointed out different options in filling etc and what value added or not they would be. My husband primarily worked with him but I know he was very satisfied with the workmanship, the cleanliness of the dustless approach and the expediency of the work and promptness of meeting times, as was I. (My husband had met with a couple of other floor people for quotes and was by far most impressed with their knowledge and thorough explanation of what woods we had and how stains would or would not take, pride in work and price). We are already planning to hire him to do our first floor once we get it ready to be redone.

Vasile was prompt with quote and every step of the job. He was very accommodating throughout the whole process. His quote was on the low end of the four I was given. Two of the other quotes were thousands more. He did a great job and got it done quickly. He was able to keep the dust at a minimum. Overall a very good experience.

They were thorough and were very focused on quality. The project took a little longer than they had originally thought but they were very good.
