Hector Molina, was great he arrived on time at exactly 8 am. My bedroom door can now close. Lol was tired of everyone just coming in my room to get whatever they wanted. My daughter can now close her door because she was tired of her sister just coming in her room. We both can now lock our bedroom doors. Hallelujah. And best of all I don't have all that air blowing through my front door. I love looking at my TV that is now mounted to the wall in my bedroom. Thank you Hector
Description of Work: Weather stripping on front door, TV mounting, fixing door knob to my daughters bedroom and my bedroom.

This is a shout out to Leonard Bailey from Budget Right Handyman who accurately diagnosed a loose kitchen faucet as poor installation job from a contractor. Contractor should have either recut the quartz counter or told us the the original faucet we selected does not fit. We shopped together for a replacement faucet that would fit my space vs being forced to fit my space (I paid for the faucet). Leonard installed it and a 2 year-old problem is truly solved vs a band-aid. He also resolved an annoying ill fitting toilet flap that caused a running toilet. This required him to go back to the store, but the materials he bought were passed on to me Appreciate honest work.

Leonard was professional and did quality work; job took 6 hours. Rates have gone up significantly in past year. This was my 3rd time using Budget Right and I would use them again but new rates take away some of which made them outstanding previously.

Andrew showed up perfectly on time -- it's important to note that this was at 8 in the morning after all all-night snowstorm that was still blowing until noon! He was very professional and a delight to have around. Our lights look wonderful, and I cannot tell you how excited we are to have an operable ceiling fan -- first time in 8 years!
Description of Work: Replaced the dreaded ceiling fan in our bedroom and replaced three lights on main floor -- including the new track light in our kitchen that has very high ceilings.

I marked the price fair. I don't know if the price was high or low. I needed the fix done within a day or two and I went by the reviews. Budget was first on the list. I called on a Sunday morning, I was amazed that someone answered the phone and I was able to schedule an appointment for Monday morning. Monday was cold and snowy. Nate P was timely, polite and thoughtful. He got right to work, then right to the store and finished up. He fixed the identified steps and reinforced a couple of loose ones that I hadn't noticed. Used all the purchased materials. Job - Ask- replace two outdoor stair treads and reinforce 2 steps Job - done - replaced treads, reinforced 4 steps Time - 3 hours Quality - excellent

When I call for help, the company send their technician quickly the day after (because none emergency). Andrew San Roman did a good job. During two hours and a half, he replaced two old sink drainers which were hard to remove. Also about ten minutes at the end, he tightened couple screws on front door lock for me. He is a hard worker! Thank you so much.

The handyman I had was Mario Chavez. He was excellent. He showed up early, was incredible efficient and did great work. I had purchased an angie's list deal for two hours of work and he got everything done I wanted within the time.
Description of Work: I had a punch list of small tasks and repairs that had stacked up, including replacing a toilet paper hold and then subsequently patching and painting the hole that was left, bolting my toddler's dresser to the wall with an anti-tip kid, assembling a crib, hanging a floating shelf, and installing a baby monitor.

The job went great! Stan was very knowledgable, professional, and pleasant. He worked efficiently, and we’re planning on having come back in the summer to do some more work. Great first experience.
Description of Work: We needed some old light fixtures and ceiling fans hauled away and replaced with new light fixtures. Also needed upstairs bathroom fixtures recaulked and the pipes replaced.
I contacted BRH to help me with two projects. The first was to rebuild a cantilevered balcony and expand a master bedroom slightly, the second was to help me with some sliding door replacements and a support beam. The first project never happened. Frankly, BRH is just NOT set-up for, nor capable enough to do the work on multi-discipline jobs that are not just kitchens or baths. Several people came out to bid the job. Each one completely misunderstood it, despite the fact that I had architectural renderings demonstrating exactly what I wanted, and detailed descriptions of the desired fit and finish materials. This wasted a tremendous amount of time and resulted in BRH eventually just ignoring my requests to revise their proposals for accuracy. DO NOT use them for anything with complexity unless it's a kitchen or bath. These guys just want to install windows and hang light fixtures and do basic, uncomplicated one-off projects. There is nothing wrong with that, but don't let them tell you they can do more. I felt they were more appropriate to use for my second project, where I had done most of the prep, all of the demo and parts ordering, and they could just come in and take direction and perform straightforward tasks. I acted as a 'third man' and super on the job, as they helped me lift two very heavy sliders, and a 300 lb. support beam that I picked up and drove to my home. The sliders went in fine. They did a good job. Not great, but good. They'd never installed sliders like mine, but they had definitely installed windows before, so I felt good about their work since I was able to supervise. The support beam went equally smoothly. The electrical was a disaster. I'd called the switchboard several times to make sure, and they guaranteed till the cows came home about how capable their guys are. The guy who did my electrical was a nice guy, but a total hack when it came to electrical. He had to come back 4 times (they estimated 1 day) over a period of a month just to get it working. All he had to do was drop existing wiring 3 inches. Instead of just doin that run by run, he decided to rip it all out and do it "his way." Ugh. Very soon, he couldn't figure it out and spent WAY MORE time than should have been necessary for what I needed. Thank god I wasn't up against an actual timeline, because they made me work around their schedule instead of the other way around. I am STILL finding errors and sloppiness in his work. He lazily ran one conduit UNDER my PVC sink drain instead of going OVER it, where it was originally, which now makes my pipe GO UPHILL! Hello? Gravity? He also made WAY too many junction boxes, sloppily bent the pipe when it needed to bend, put no covers on the junction boxes, improperly wired my smart thermostat (which nearly fried my AC), put caps on wires without twisting them or using tape, ran exposed capped wires, left a mess when he left... the list is long and ridiculous. What bothers me is this is work I was going to do myself. I would have been much slower, but I would have done a FAR better job. The final result was sloppy and dangerous, and the customer service after the job was poor. It was clear they did not wish to continue the job, and they simply stopped returning my calls. I discussed the personnel with my rep several times before they came. I wanted to make sure they had everything they needed when they arrived so that I could get the maximum out of their work days. But all the plans changed on the day of work. I didn't get who they said I would. The way they charge is great (hourly) and the hourly rate is fair. It worked out fine for the doors and the beam, but they destroyed all the cost efficiencies with their bungling electrical work. There's no point in having a fair price if one of your guys is so slow that one small aspect of the job kills the budget.

Response from Budget Right Handyman
I personally drove out to this individuals home on the weekend to look at his structural project. In addition I also had my head job coordinator out to his home to review this project. This customer wanted to salvage a soffit on the 1st floor while performing a 2nd floor joist removal and 1st floor walk out door replacement. These are types of projects we perform all the time. The challenge came because this customer refused to listen to our advice. After about the third conversation of me informing him that we were most certainly going to have to tear into a soffit that he wanted to salvage and him ignoring my explanation as to why...I decided to start ignoring his calls. His review is simply a reflection of his discontent with my information. Information that is based on 30 years of construction experience and another 35 years from my job coordinator. We perform projects much larger than this all the time however we never get involved in large scale projects with customers that do not have the ability to listen to reason. We did have our handyman division out to perform some small items for him and for that we appreciate his business and the overall "C" Rateing.

Description of Work: I needed, at very short notice in subzero temperatures, someone to mount an exterior Knox Box and to put up curtain rods. I couldn't believe these guys were able to send someone and was thrilled.
