Budget Right Handyman

This is the second time Stu McClean did painting for us. We are again delighted with the work he does. Stu painted our living room and dining room areas which included all the trim, windows etc. He also painted a portion of the stairwell and cleaned and caulked our skylight. Needless to say it looks brand new. Stu is friendly and professional. He works fast and does an excellent job. He is punctual and very neat. Again, it was a pleasure to have him work for us.

Mario C. was the individual assigned to our project. Mario was prompt, and did a great job digging the 3' deep post hole despite threat of rain. Additionally, I was a new customer of Budget Right Handyman, they were great and honored my Angies List coupon despite my having misplaced the printed coupon. I will definitely consider hiring Mario C. and Budget Right Handyman for future projects.

I recommend this contractor highly! Andy Szymanski was wonderful. He showed up exactly on time and quickly understood exactly what I wanted. Our kitchen had an ancient built in microwave that no longer worked. I wanted it replaced with a shelf. He took out the microwave, took measurements and went to the store. He built and installed a shelving unit that exactly matches our cabinets and looks like it was installed at the same time. The shelf is just great! Andy also did a terrific job fixing a broken light switch and assembling a cabinet.

Everything was done in a pleasant, professional manner. James (the technician) was even quite willing to show me how he did several of the items so that next time, I could do it myself. I would definitely use this service again.

It's hard to say since Budget Right was responsive and offered a free estimate, so that part went fine. But the man they sent said he could do it and he could perform it cheaper and that Budget was good with this (he said they were a matching service who provided a license for him to work under). When we asked if he was licensed as an electrician he reiterated that Budget Handyman had the license and by sending him he too had the license. It turns out that he was not qualified, opened up our wall, took apart outlets, and was unable to fix anything. When we asked why he couldn't fix the problem he told us that he isn't actually, really, an electrician, and the license was for handyman work. In the end we still had to hire an electrician, we paid him, and we had to hire a drywall company to repair the damage he created.

Manny did a great job. He was very efficient and did quality work. Their price was very competitive. I would definitely hire again.

Awful. They breached our contract by NOT priming the floor, and there are seams popping up all over my basement. They overcharged us by inflating the number of work hours and not giving promised discounts. They also are refusing to honor their one-year labor warranty because we told them not to send the same guy to fix the floor, since he obviously is not qualified and did not do the job we hired him to do. Their customer service is pathetic, and their responses to complaints online are childish and offensive

Ezequiel replaced the faucet as requested It was difficult to remove so he had to saw a bolt. He made sure I was ok with this before removing. He also pointed out that I had a leak in the drainpipe. He repaired it using silicon. It appears that the company that did the bath remodel didn't install properly. Ezequiel was timely and professional.

LENORD, THE ASSIOTATE THEY SENT WAS RIGHT ON TIME, VERY PROFESSIONAL, CURTIOUS. DID AN A+ JOB. COULD NOT BE MORE SATISFIED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED. i WOULD DEFINTELY USE THEM AGIAN, AND IF I COULD I WOULD ASK FOR THE SAME EMPLOYEE AGIAN.

It was great! Edgar Reyes was the perfect person to do the job. Respectful, quick, etc.

The work performed by the technician was performed on a timely matter and professionally. I have a problem with the project manager I dealt with over the phone on the second appointment. On my second appointment, this situation became a nightmare in the way they handled my situation on not cancelling in a timely matter. I did call the night before trying to reschedule my appointment to another date due to a family matter that had come up. It seemed that the customer does not come first, but making a quick buck is of most importance. This situation could of been handled differently, but this company is extremely too rigid with their 24 hour cancellation fee. I have been a good customer with them, but at this point I will never use them again or will I recommend them to anyone.

Our repairs went very well. Elvis did a very good job with the indoor part of our “to do” list. He was careful and skilled in the caulking he did. The weather was so bad that the outside things we hoped to have him repair were either in the middle of giant puddles or underwater. Elvis and I reviewed the outdoor work to be done in the future. I have every confidence that he will return when it is a sunny day and handle the carpentry tasks as competently as he did the inside ones.

Stan was professional and kind. He called me to confirm our time and kept me up to date on a rescheduled time we agreed to. He worked quickly to save me money and explained the process to me so I could make minor adjustments on my own if I needed. I would recommend/hire him again.

Not well. First off, when looking at the HVAC duct sealing, the handyman stated, he would have to ask the Home Depot people what he should do. Clearly had no idea. 2nd, he left our home at approximately 12:45 pm to go to home depot to buy spray foam and 3 GFCI outlets. There is a Home Depot 0/6 miles from our home, no traffic. An hour and twenty minutes go by, I call dispatch, and complain about the time, the dispatcher tells me this is a typical period of time, and that the Handy Man was going into a busy part of town. He also added that he was looking at the GPS "right now". An hour and forty five minutes go by, and finally the handy man arrives. I go down, and ask what took so long, he said, well, going into a busy part of town. HE ACTUALLY DROVE PAST A HOME DEPOT, and went to the one that is the 4th closest to my home deeper into the city. At this point, I'm a little upset, I call dispatch, he indicates that we have to pay for this, and we can complain to management. I asked him if this was typical, and he said that he likely went for the parts. I called this Home Depot and they obviously have GFCI outlets as well as spray foam. Dispatch was unwilling to see our side of the story, even when I told him this was the 4th farthest away Home Depot he could have gone to.

Edgar had our door up and latching in just half an hour. Fantastic work and wouldn’t hesitate to hire again!

Overall, I am satisfied with their courteousness, timely manner, and how they did the job. I needed to have 39 very heavy boxes of wood floors hauled into my unit. The gentlemen on the task were Jim Bailey & Cargine Carson and took care of it while making it look effortless. Well done. I have had Budget Right Handymen to do many services in my home and they always do a great job every single time. With my multiple renovations I've got going on, I know I will be calling them again soon.

I contacted Budget Right about fixing a storm door that was installed incorrectly. I saw all the great reviews and thought I'd give them a try. Well Ray arrived right on time, was extremely polite & friendly and got the job done the right way. I couldn't be happier!!! I will definitely use Budget Right again. Thank you Ray for your great work!

Budget Right Handyman gets an "F" in my book! I contacted them via Angie's List to get an estimate for work. I received email confirmation that they received my request, which stated that I would be contacted within 24 hours. It has been approximately 72 hours and I still have not heard from anyone.

Nate came out to repair broken siding. Turns out the siding on my house is discontinued. He had to create siding that would work on my house using something that was a slightly different size - which matters with siding. He took the matching siding from under my porch and put the slightly different siding down there where nobody can see it - and replaced the broken siding with the correctly sized panel that had been under the porch. Brilliant. It looks fantastic - everything looks whole and good again in the back of my home. What I like about Nate and Budget Right Handyman is how grounded and practical they are. Thanks for sticking with my repair - I know it took a lot to find a solution - it is greatly appreciated - will definitely use them again!

Always a good experience. Nate R was the technician - very professional. Price was reasonable and scheduling was pretty easy.

Technician Manny hung two large mirrors for me, one of which was pretty heavy. Even though the heavier one was pretty challenging to complete, he got it done and I'm very satisfied. Manny also resolved a longstanding plumbing issue that I had w/a basement faucet. Very pleased w/both jobs.

The person on the phone was so very helpful and professional, even when I had to rescheduled. The handman who came out was prompt, found the issue and repaired the stairs for use!
