Budget Right Handyman

I’m so thankful I found BRH. This was my second time using the service. Again, the service professional (this time, Greg K.) was very professional and knowledgeable. Installations were made with ease. He troubleshooted as needed to make the right fixes.

I have used Budget Right Handyman in the past for small jobs like drywall patching with reasonable results. Not this time. I purchased a 4-hour special with the expectation of having 7 duplex outlets connected in our basement and our oven hood exhaust rerouted. When the workman cut through our kitchen ceiling, he hit a stud (wouldn't the use of a stud finder have avoided this?) and he told us we would need additional duct adaptors to go around the stud. I had to drive to Home Depot (with the job clock ticking) and they did not have the necessary parts. At least the workman was able to wire the outlets while I was gone. So we rescheduled him to finish the job on the following Monday at 4 pm. By 5 pm, he had not shown up so I called and spoke to Nick who told me the workman was "pulling into my driveway". Nope. He shows up at 7 pm to say that Nick had sent him to do another job. By that time, we're eating dinner in the kitchen and our kids are ready for bed so the job was not going to be completed that night. In the meantime, we also noticed that there is a large bulge in our vinyl siding where the workman had removed the original exhaust and installed a new piece of siding. This will have to be redone by another contractor because we will not use BRH again. If you have a very small, simple, and well-defined project, BRH may be an okay choice. But for anything more complicated, I would recommend calling a contractor with specific experience in that area.

They're great, on time, professional and reasonably price.

We had one piece of siding that had come off the back of our house and had two punctures in our shed roof from a storm last winter where one of our trees fell down on the shed. Very timely, did great work, kept it inexpensive. Would definitely hire again.

Work done was making stairs & painting it, hanging an accordion door which was all done in time.

Had used Budget Right Handyman in past years, so was looking forward to having them provide me with an estimate for new projects. Send a detailed email with a description of the work needed... long story short, a Jerome Robinson said someone would contact me with the cost (sight unseen) and I asked for a person to come out to physically look at the scope of work. Was told if fixtures needed to be replaced, the service guy would go to the closest Home Depot to purchase them. I said I would prefer not to have to pay for the travel time and cost - if the estimator could advise me what was needed I would be happy to purchase them and have them available. I didn't receive a response, so emailed again for a follow-up and never heard from Jerome or anyone else at Budget Handyman again.

Mr. Elvis Seric arrived on time. Mr. Seric was polite and did not mind wearing over the shoe footies to cover his boots in my home. Mr. Seric was very professional and did a thorough job. I am very pleased with the services I received from Mr. Seric on behalf of Budget Right Handy Man. Overall, Mr. Seric and Budget Right Handy Man service are alright with me! I will definitely recommend this service along with Mr. Seric.

My contractor, Elvis, arrived on time with tools and ready to work. After looking at both detectors, he inquired about how long they had been installed. One of them was operative, but not connected to the main electrical, so was running on battery power only. The other was properly installed, but not functional. He suggested installation of one device, an all-in-one, as they are now making them that way. He went to the nearest Home Depot, installed the all-in-one, and installed an unobtrusive face plate over the other. All of this took a little over an hour. Very satisfied!

Do not do business with this company. They keep your credit card on file without notification. I talked to the manager who yelled at me and the called me *****.

Kevin was punctual, professional and he knows what he is doing in home repairs and punchlist tasks.

These jobs were done over 2 visits by Elvis and all were completed perfectly. I always have excellent service from this company and Elvis is my go to guy.

I had prepaid for 4 hours of service. When I phone to schedule the time and ask questions I was disrespected and dismissed. For 4 years, I have had great service with BRH and I have sent out multiple positive reviews for BRH. My 4 years positive history was tarnished today by employee Nick. Nick was irate, rude and belligerent, because I asked questions about how a work proposal was calculated. This is a simple question because BRH bills hourly, ergo the a number of hours required to complete the job is a reasonable and normal inquiry. Per Nick, "If I had questions and could not understand then maybe I did not need to do business with BRH." WOW this is the level of respect and customer service for 4 years customer of Budget Right Handyman? I'm seeking some type of communication from someone in management to honor the service in which I prepaid. BUDGET RIGHT HANDYMAN Company's Disclaimer is noted for billing by the HOUR, so why was I and my questions about hours disrespected and dismissed?

It went fine. Nick arrived a few minutes past schedule but had been briefed on the project by BRH and advised me on the materials I would need to provide. I was able to pick these up locally and he got to work quickly. Seemed to be an experienced dry wall professional, did the patch reasonably well and within the 2 hours purchased as part of their deal. He did let me know that he would not be able to sand or put a final coat on within the 2 hours but as the area is behind the refrigerator, this is not critical.

Company is very professional and responsive. I was a little skeptical of using them at first but can say after using company twice now they are solid. I had Andrew come first time and he was very skilled, friendly, and efficient in his work. Next time Duane was assigned and he too was awesome with his talents and creativity when we encountered a small issue. The Pricing is fair and workers finish in reasonable time. I will always use Budget going forward and request either Andrew or Duane for the North shore.

My tech was on time and finished in under an hour. My new mailbox looks great! Thank you!

The bathroom wall work scheduling was phone tag and didn't work out. The deck was either more work than I wanted done, or will just be postponed until I can save more money for the project ... not sure yet.

Overall disappointing -- paint job is decent enough but I've had higher quality from other contractors and I had to finish the job myself. The technician was polite but seemed to have a lot of trouble with time management -- he came back three days in a row, worked about 2 hours each day, and DIDN'T FINISH! Despite promises to return after the weekend, and then again the next day, he never showed or contacted me and the job had to be finished by today, so I had to install ( badly as I have arthritic hands) the last doorknob and do the final coat on the mirrored doors - very tricky.

I have used them several times and they were excellent. They were very quick to respond and usually are able to get someone out the same day. They are always very professional and knowledgeable. Even their prices are excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I would hire them again.
