Description of Work: Repaired molding on garage door and replaced a door sweep.

Description of Work: This was my third time using Budget Right. My previous two experiences were with a handyman who is no longer with them. The work was good so when I got a special offer I decided to use them again, primarily to hang a curtain rod. | |The handyman finished the curtain rod and installing a cat perch in an hour and the coupon was for two hours so I asked him to install a thermal wrap I had purchased for my hot water heater. He refused, saying it was made of asbestos, which is totally ludicrous. I told him the middle bracket of the curtain rod looked lower than the end brackets and he assured me they were all level and that I'd see that when the curtains were up. I felt like he just wanted to get out so I told him he could leave as I was upset. | |After he left I discovered that the middle bracket was 3/4" lower than the end brackets and that one of the end brackets was crooked and not flush to the wall. In fact, there was a visible gap between the bracket and the wall on the left side. Also, I had asked him to patch a hole I had created in my plaster wall from my initial attempt to hang the bracket and the spackle was nowhere near flush with the wall, leaving a large indentation. | |I immediately called and left a voice mail and also emailed photos of the problems. I did not hear back that day and the next day was a holiday. Instead of someone in charge replying to me the following day, the worker who created the issues called late that afternoon and left a message that he understood I was unhappy with the work and he was calling to schedule a return visit to fix it. Only after I called the office again and sent another email did I get a call from someone in charge, which was now two days later, not counting the holiday. Ultimately another handyman was sent and he was very nice and did a good job of fixing the problems. | |The main reason for my low ratings is not due to the initial subpar work but due to the lack of responsiveness from anyone in charge. To have the person who I was clearly upset with call me without checking if that was okay with me is poor customer service in my opinion. Plus it took way too long to get any kind of response. Budget Right seems to have a system where they do not answer calls but instead you always get a voice mail and then they call back when they can. So if you have any kind of issue do not expect an immediate response. Even a brief acknowledgement of my email and a note that they were working on a resolution would have been very much appreciated. | |In addition, the second handyman gave me a form I was asked to sign stating I would not post anything on social media regarding my experience, which I declined to sign. In my opinion a company that stands behind their work should not need to ask this of their customers. | |

Description of Work: Replaced a disposal, tightened railings, fixed a door that was tough to close - required many creative moves to accomplish.

Description of Work: Budget Right honored the AL price and did a great job cleaning up another contractor's unfinished work - trimmed out a window, replaced old tile, patched wall and ceiling plaster. I'd use them again, they were conscientious and thorough in a less than ideal situation and were honest about the outcome. I am satisfied. Punctual and responsive.

Description of Work: Had some light plumbing repairs. They were on time and done quicker than I expected. They actually recommended a few money saving ways to do the job I didn't think of....Very Happy would definitely use again.

Description of Work: Put up a fan in my living room and a light in my dining room. They did a good job installing but did not know how to put in the light switches. I was very disappointed. They said they are not electricians even though it appeared they would be able to handle my job.

Description of Work: Bob did these jobs: 1. reattached top bracket of back storm door to doorjamb; 2. caulked around top of bathtub and where the tiled walls met vertically in the tub area; 3. installed a 4-foot ledge on wall and helped me put a heavy 4'X6' artwork on ledge; 4. helped me lift off queen mattress/put on bed skirt/replace mattress; 5. fixed front storm door near handle so door opens and closes easily. Work was excellent. Bob was very courteous and patiently explained why he did what he did when I asked questions. I paid $25 extra because I live outside the company's usual area of service: Oak Park-based company to Lombard home. I was/am thrilled with the quality of the employee and the work he did.

Description of Work: Elected not to use him for the project I originally hired him to do, but plan to contact him for a future project to use the coupon I purchased.

Description of Work: Very disappointed. I had issues with 2 of the 3 projects I had asked to be completed. The handyman did come back, but I still had issues. The owner called and said he would call back later that day and it's been almost a month later and no response. It also would have been less expensive to not use the AL deal.

Description of Work: Had him install new towel rack in bathroom, touch up the wall, paint, and install new tp holder. The patch where the old TP holder was was bulgy and not sanded prior to painting. The towel rod wasn't installed correctly so it continues to come apart when used. I would not use them again.
