Budget Right Handyman

They came in and did handyman work and were very good. Tim came out and was supposed to be here at 8:30. It was the day we had the bad snow and he called me at 8:20 and said "I'm sorry I'm going to be about half of an hour late." It was nice for him to give me the heads up. They work around your schedule whether you want it in the morning, afternoon or night.

Dan and his crew were professional and easy to work with. We had an oft-changed list of requests, and we even had an issue completely our own fault that resulted in getting the wrong size vanity. They were flexible with making it work for us, and got us their contractor discount at Studio 41 to get some other stuff in the changed plan. Quality of work was good. There were a couple things not perfect... the tile finishing in one of the bathrooms wasn't great on the edges, used too much grout it looks like. They dinged some walls moving stuff around and didn't repair them. Considering the large amount of work done, these were very small issues, and overall they did a very good job on a widely varied set of tasks. We noticed the small things later, and probably could have called them back, but they were so small it wasn't worth it. Prices were reasonable, and well-communicated. The only times there were added costs were because we added or changed things. There were no surprises. I recommend using Budget Right, especially if you have a handful of various jobs and want to work with one contractor instead of multiple.

It was two hours handyman service. I was very happy with the service provided. I was pleased with their punctuality, quality of the work and the price.

We called on a holiday and they were the first company to return our call the following work day. The Head Contractor, Dan, came out the next day for an estimate. He was very thorough and honest in his estimate. He explained exactly what they would do, how many hours, expected material costs and what possible surprises might change the estimate. For example, he anticipated a day of work for installing the doors, but cautioned that some of our existing framing looked like it could be rotted and if so, replacing it would add time and materials. I had already expected that but really appreciate the honesty upfront. No bait and switch here! They scheduled the work around my availability which was also appreciated. I felt very comfortable with Dan and scheduled the work. They asked for a %10 deposit. We bought some of the materials ourselves, including the doors, and light fixtures. The work took 20 hours over 2 1/2 days. The three men, including Dan, who worked on our job were extremely polite and courteous. They covered all our furniture to avoid dust from the saw, walked on tarps, and even shoveled our front stoop to prevent tracking excess snow and salt into the house. The first day they fixed a string of electrical outlets, stabilized the pipe containing the wires, rerouted wiring and installed an overhead light fixture. They also installed a ceiling fan, and built the stair rail. The second day they installed an outdoor light fixture, rebuilt the door frame/jamb and installed the back door and storm door. They came a third day for 3 hours, to finish work on the storm door. Being an old house, there were some surprises along the way, like a wonky door jamb and pipe (containing wires) that had previously dislodged from the wall. They fixed each problem and we were never charged extra. We are extremely pleased with both the quality of the work and the experience in general. We were charged exactly the same as the estimate. We will definately call Budget Right Handymen again in the future!

Arrived early with phonecall to appointment. Deligently worked to install door opener. Called manufacturer (over an hour of wait time and not on "clock") of opener to troubleshot to make sure problem was not new opener. Confirmed with opener manufacturer that unit was working properly. Unable to fully complete job due to improper installation of existing garage door. Refered us to a garage door service to provide special tool and service help required for completion. Even though work was not completed, We will definitely use and recommend them to anyone. It is nice to see professionalism and coutesy in this day and age.

I had a Big Deal for 2 hours of handyman service and Tim came out to tackle my list. He was punctual and hard-working. He did a variety of tasks and advised me on future projects. It was a great experience.

Tim showed up on time and was courteous. He completed the install of our new garbage disposal system very quickly, and so far it works flawlessly. Would definitely recommend Budget Right!

I was very pleased & will certainly use them in the future. No complaints from start to finish. Friendly, courteous, prompt, hard working, honest. They were very accomodating with scheduling (2 visits) & stayed until 8 p.m. to finish the job. I had asked another company for a quote for only ONE of these jobs (replacing a ceiling fan with a light fixture), and that (outrageous, IMO) quote was nearly equal to the amount that Budget Right charged me for ALL of these repairs....SIX hours of work! They came out and did a great job. We had them do three things and at the time they did it, one of them said for a kind of short term intervention they thought it would work but it would not last as far as re-putting up a hand rail that had fallen down. The other two things they did they thought it would be pretty secure. Everything they did has proven to be right on target. Those that they thought would be secure have remained secure and the one that they thought would probably need more work. But they told us at that time that is only a short gap measure. So we have been very pleased.

They come on time, he was a very nice person, and he was a good worker. My one complaint was that the handle fell off in the middle of summer, but I was able to put it back on at that point.

I purchased a coupon from Angies list for 2 hours of service. I called and scheduled to have someone come out in 2 days. I needed to change the time and they could not be more willing to work with my schedule. Matthew came out on time and could not have been more professional and efficient with time block that I had. I needed 3 baby gates re-installed from a handyman that did not do the job correctly. His work was perfect! Not only would I call the company again, but I would also request Matthew!

Everything went very well. Matt was very professional, he checked out everything before he started the job. I would definitely use the comapny again. .

Mike Raffe arrived ontime and was very prefessional. I gave him the scope of work to be performed and he started right away. The job was completed within 90 minutes and he even helped me throw away some of the trash.

Tim arrived on time and we walked through the to-dos. He created a shopping list as we proceeded. He went off to the store and returned in short order with the hardware. He showed me the receipt without my asking. He then ticked off each mini project and the entire visit was 3-hours end-to-end. I will definitely use this service again if needed.

I bought their Angie's list special, 2 hours of handlyman services for $79.00. The individual who I worked with was Matt and he did a great job overall. In a little over two hours, he completed a long list of handyman type jobs that have been hanging over my head for a while. There were some issues with Matt's schedule that were beyond his control (his truck was rear-ended while he was driving to the job, so we had to reschedule), but in handling the rescheduling and in all other ways, he was very responsive and professional. I won't hesitate to use the company again, and I'll probably ask specifically to see if Matt's available.

Mike Raffe did an excellent job. He was on-time, performed the work well, and gave us a good estimate of the cost.

He was prompt and professional. He installed the shades in record time while also making sure that they were perfect. I give Tim high grades and plan to use him in the future.
